Because the enemy never really dies and now because of the Everstorm the Fused do not have to stay on Braize essentially creating a perpetual stalemate. I know you said you do not care about spoilers but I cannot bring myself to outright spoil this. I will say you will see something in RoW that will change the balance.

Mistborn, Feruchemist, Awakener, Surgebinder or Elantrian?
StormingTexan replied to Ati16's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Man this is a really tough choice because I want to say 5th heightening Awakener but I am going to have to go with Feruchemist just because possessing peoples breaths seems creepy to me. -
So this is something I struggle with. Not so much the fan service but the interaction. There are so many times where I have to figure out if I know something because it is in the books or I know it because it is in a WoB. On one hand I wouldn't want to change a thing with his interactions because he does it better than any other author I read. On the other hand I feel like it has almost become a crutch (specifically the WoBs) where we are getting the "connected dots" outside of the books. This WoB is a perfect example of what I am talking about. I think most of us expected to learn how more about medallions in TLM specifically how they are made and instead we get this WoB which implies we will get this info but not in a book... Spoiler for length.

Poll: Favorite main character besides Kaladin
StormingTexan replied to Stitof's topic in Stormlight Archive
I know not a popular opinion but Kaladan is probably my 4th favorite character behind Jasnah, Dalinar and Shallan. I actually dint like WoK the first time I read it because there was so much Kaladan. I'l go duck and hide now. -

Koloss Head munching day?
StormingTexan replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in General Brandon Discussion
All fun and games unless you are the party favor for Koloss head munching day. -
Yes I get this so why make Steel Survivor out of the much more expensive aluminum? Regardless I am agreeing with you that there is probably not an alomantic safety on Vindication II it is a good point. Although I do not agree that if it had a wooden handle it would be useless it is not like the first one was useless. More precisely put it wouldn't make sense to have the safety in Vindication II that is all aluminum. Although I think we may be taking the "made fully of aluminum" too literally and it may still have a wood grip as would be the style in this period just all the metallic parts are aluminum which still means no safety as it would be pointless to make the gun out of aluminum otherwise.

Well to this point Wax says he used regular bullets that could be pushed in the other gun Steel Survivor which is also aluminum. Would you be able to push/pull on metal inside of an aluminum gun? I am thinking not since it would be pointless to put regular rounds in an aluminum gun. If not I agree it would not make sense to have an alomantic safety in Vindication II unless the handle is made of wood like Frustrated mentioned which would make sense for a revolver.

How Moonlight Met Autonomy (and other potential seeds)
StormingTexan replied to Yumiya's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Agreed there is literally a word for word description for men of gold and red in OB that I seriously doubt has anything to do with Autonomy's army. -
I think it is entirely posable and I'd say probable. They are already experimenting with rockets in Era2. Now where they go and what they do I have no idea but at a minimum they will more than likely be doing orbital exploration.

Rate the Rate Above You
StormingTexan replied to The Aspiring Archivist's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
This is an eloquent back handed compliment especially since you used less letters using the world idiosyncratic in lieu of the interchangeable but more lettered word individualistic. 8/10 Edit Ninjaed @Ookla the Pencil Taxi For going the extra mile to look up idiosyncratic and it's variants you get a 8.8/10 if you are a #2 Pencil Taxi feel free to round up to 9/10. -
I do agree that all of the Cosmere stuff in this book was not as eloquently done as it has been in the past. It kind of felt like a mash up at times. I absolutely loved all the GB stuff though. I think in a perfect world this would have been it's own book though and not a subplot in TLM. I think though we are just at the point where Brandon feels like in order to advance the Cosmere plot along it needs to be way more in the foreground. We saw this in RoW as well. I think he has realized he just does not have the time left to slow play the Cosmere overarching plot like he did initially. He has a lot of things he needs to introduce so they are properly foreshadowed.

All the speculation on this and it was debunked in the TLM Spoiler Stream Edit: Nvm as usual I am late to the party and someone already posted about this.

Kandra World Hopping Inconsistency
StormingTexan replied to StormingTexan's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Well Brandon has retcon this previous WoB in the TLM spoiler stream so the Kandra on Roshar is NOT under Harmony's control. Either that or he was talking about a different Kandra we have seen in the WoB. -
Yes it is called compounding. If a Misting or Mistborn also has the same Feruchemy metal/metals they can burn the metalmind for an increased effect. Keep reading the Mistborn books and you will see some cool uses of this.

So I am a huge Wayne fan. I know he comes across as comedic relief similar to Lift and Lopen which may be annoying to some but I have always liked him. He is the "Sad Clown". I thought his arc in this was masterfully done. I cannot say I was completely surprised by his sacrifice but just the way it was all handled was amazing. His conversation with Wayne before storming the tower actually brought tears to my eyes. I liked the arcs for all of the rest of the main characters as well. Hoping we get to see some of the future implications in Era 3 of these characters growth and contributions especially Marasi. Although I think I would have liked to see it in a different book like maybe MB Secret History 2 because it did feel a little wedged in I really liked all the Ghostbloood stuff. It completely changed my opinion of Kelsier. I loved seeing Shai again and the advancements in Forgery. It was awesome to see Aethers on screen and I really Liked TwinSoul as a character.

@Returned Although not all of the things you mentioned bothered me I cannot disagree with any of your points.

She says the safety is hidden in the grip and there is no visible signs of a safety on the outside. So if someone grabs the gun that is not a coinshot/lurcher they would not be able to engage/disengage the safety. Even if they are since it is hidden they would have to know to burn metal and look for it. When Wax pushes on it he hears something "click". To me this indicates a mechanical switch not something that has to be actively engaged the entire time it is used.

1) The Southern/Basin tension was built up pretty well in the beginning then just kinda fizzled out with the BoM scene that left a cliffhanger we will not see concluded for years. 2) I absolutely loved the Telsin twist in BoM and was really excited about the showdown but it honestly concluded a little underwhelming to me. Harmony interrupts her power or whatever from Autonomy and she lays down and dies.

Oh sorry I totally misread the abbreviation as TLM

There is one in the spoiler section for TLM
