  1. Yes that is correct he uses version 2 in this book. I would think though it was built with the same safety but there is no mention of it that I recall.
  2. I think the one we see onscreen is a fake. Kelsier had them swapped and he just happens to have one of the best forgers alive on staff.
  3. Ah yes I remember this now! My problem with it being Atium is it pretty much had nothing to do with the story beside Marsh being able to live longer. I love Marsh do not get me wrong but besides playing Death to intimidate a few people he really didn't do anything of consequence that I can remember. Versus Lerasium which pretty much saved Elendel. I do see the connection to Atium and it may be a much bigger part going forward but not worth the namesake in my opinion. Brandon should have just called the book The Lost Metals.
  4. Interesting catch! If it works like a regular gun though a safety does not need to be disengaged every time you fire it. So Wax could have disengaged it before throwing it to him. Honestly he shouldn't even have to be holding it to disengage it right? He could have thrown it to Wayne and then disengage safety. That is kind of the advantage of the allomantic safety. If someone was able to get Vindication from Wax he could engage the safety without needing to hold the gun rendering it inoperative.
  5. My favorite Wayne quote
  6. In my head cannon it was an Island like Australia so this really threw a wrench in the works. I agree though because in this case at least it does not seem to make sense to travel over water. Even if you did it to avoid mountains logically you would travel along the coast. You have to go out of your way to travel long distances over water. It also struck me as odd that since over land is possible more people from the north would not travel to the south. I know we get an explanation for this in the books and if it is a separate island it makes since it was not discovered but did people really just kinda say yeah this is far enough after the Southern Roughs?
  7. Is he lying though? He does not say for "me to Steelpush" although I agree it could be read that way. It is actually fairly ambiguous. The one thing I did think was odd is after seeing from the map that the continents are connected why do they need to go over water unless this is just done to follow the path less traveled. Even if that was the case from the map at least it looks like they could pretty easily go over land. Unless they fly on the opposite side of the planet than is portrayed on the map but that seems odd to me.
  8. I agree is was not explicitly mentioned from what I recall but this is what I assumed as well.
  9. Another Herald has theirs as well.
  10. Per a very recent WoB it will be 50-70 years for Era 3 so i doubt we will see Marasi
  11. Interesting WoB regarding the timeline of Era 3. In another thread I mentioned I thought it would be close to this timing. So although his 3rd child would be middle to late in life he could be around.
  12. Yes awesome it was confirmed in the book. This was speculated on before from the Tor Secret History cover.
  13. Then why did he keep the same information from Wax who he wants to be his Sword and save Scadrial? Wayne specifically asked why he didn't tell Wax to drink the special vial and he explains why so it is not really a mystery. I'll conceded that peoples perception of this comes down to rather they consider an omission a lie or not. He didn't really outright lie he withheld information that he did not reveal to even the person he wanted to be his Sword.
  14. This is a really good point and I wholeheartedly agree. As a husband and father as well I really connected with this aspect of his character development. I also really like seeing how he viewed Steris as someone that makes him a better person. They are a team and share respect for each other. After 20 years of marriage myself I can attest that this is critical and was fun to see on screen.
  15. I have seen a lot of mentions of how Sazed lied to Kelsier (as well as Wax). I will admit at first I had the same feeling especially with the conversation with Kelsier. Looking back on it though I do not think they were outright lies. First a conversation with Wax. I think we can assume that Sazed is talking about Wax inhaling the Lerasium. He was hoping Wax became a Mistborn by inhaling the Lerasium and gave him vials with all metals as well as a back up with the remaining Lerasium traces the Kandra collected. Sazed explains what the special vial is to Wayne. Clearly Wax did something different in the experiment and even though splitting Harmonium has been done in the past this was the first time it has yielded Lerasium. Lastly the conversation with Kelsier At first this appears to be a bold face lie on Sazed's part. However he is not referring to Wax's experiment or that explosion. He is referring to the subsequent attempts (presumable by Kandra) to repeat what Wax did. Now granted you do have to take this for face value that the subsequent experiments did not yield Lerasium but the fact that it apparently did not happen when the Set did it either one can assume this is the truth. Whatever Wax did as mentioned was unique and at the moment not repeatable. Now he does withhold the information from Kelsier that Wax was able to extract a trace amount of Lerasium and you could consider this a "lie of omission" but he explains why he is not revealing this when he discussed it with Wayne. TL;DR- Sazed may not be divulging everything but he did not outright lie to Kelsier.
  16. Exact same here. His spoiler free review was really fair and pretty much echos what I think. Not that this was a bad book but I just didn't feel like it was tight or tidy enough for a series conclusion.
  17. I guess I did not really think he was lying I think that the Kandra just have not been able to replicate what Wax did. Now maybe he is not divulging everything so you can call this a lie of omission.
  18. I am torn on this. I love all the details we get but I also kind of always liked how the Cosmere stuff was subtle and in the background. I started feeling this way in RoW but this one is for sure pretty "in your face" with Cosmere details. Not saying it is bad I will probably warm up to it as we go.
  19. This is my guess as well. I do not think it will be a 1:1 analog to Earth. You essentially have a 3 way arms race between the Basin, South and Trell and necessity is the mother of all inventions. Kelsier seems hell bent on starting the space race too.
  20. Most Worldhoppers should be too old to be alive . There is a WoB on this.
  21. Pretty sure he has just one spike. The before mentioned scene and in the last epilogue. Bolding by me.
  22. You are not alone lol. So ever since I got the wool pulled over my eyes with Azure I have paid close attention to names so I was tipped off on this one Moonlight because of Moon Scepter.
  23. I do agree with this. I need to re-read it. I think I was in such a hurry to find out what happens at the end I did not take the time to enjoy the story. I actually did not like tWoK the first time I read it but appreciate it much more after re-reads. I mentioned in another thread but I think he was subconsciously burning iron similar to how Vin burned pewter. He could have gotten iron from drinking water or it was mixed in with what he inhaled after the explosion. I think he may be a very weak Mistborn. I do agree you would think he would recognize using another metal after using the BoM but there are a few other instances he seems to be burning metals like when he could see through the mist and possibly pewter after the explosion. It is weird though.
  24. I do remember thinking while reading it that holy cow this is all happening like in one day!
  25. Yes I was making the point it was less than "hundreds" which would have to be 200 years at minimum. I agree though I think Wax is a stretch but I think seeing his kids is a possibility albeit they would be fairly old assuming it follows the same tract as Earth.
