  1. Anyone else watching Moon Knight? What do you think so far (I have only watched the first two episodes)? This was never a character I was really interested in back in my comic reading days but I like the premise of a super hero with Dissociative Identity Disorder. I also think they cast this great with Oscar Isaac.
  2. I think Brandon is planting the seeds for this with what the Ghostbloods are up to as one of their known goals. They just need a 3D printer that can print a perfect gem
  3. Confirmation the "Kite" story is still alive and has not been replaced.
  4. This is how I took it as well. Which "presently" in the case means in the future of the Cosmere so possible he held it all the way through the back five of SA but we will have to see.
  5. Soon! But also.... JK. I do not think there is a date yet and if I recall Brandon kinda mentioned this in a livestream just saying something along the lines "you will eventually find out what Rock was up to" when referring to SP4. So nothing definitive as far as timing. I am hoping it will be similar to Edgedancer or Dawnshard and he writes it between draft revisions of SA5 but that is wishful thinking. I think there may be a better chance for this if the SA5 release dates gets pushed a bit as he has warned.
  6. I get why people want to see this happen but to me it just feels like Peter Pan and Tinker Bell hooking up lol.
  7. I have read and recommend both of these! I think the Powder Mage books will remind you a lot of Brandon's books. I actually liked the second trilogy after this even better but reading the original trilogy before those is a must. I really really like The Licanius Trilogy and it will also remind you of Brandon's books. The author is actually a big fan of Brandon's and drew inspiration from his books. This series has the most satisfying ending of pretty much any series I had read. It was beautiful. There is a lot of time travel involved in these books and can get a little bit confusing to keep up with at times so it is one of those stories you really have to pay attention to not just casually read. Both are great reads especially if you are a fan of Brandon's books (and WoT specifically for Licanius) they will feel familiar.
  8. Giving The Fifth Season another shot. I started it about a year ago and it didn't really grab me right and set it down after a few chapters. Getting in to it more this time around.
  9. SP4- I found this one the most interesting and the action really got me in to the story. SP3- The world building on this one puts it just slightly behind SP4. Plus Design! SP1- Really mainly interested in this one because of the Aethers. SP2- This one may potentially rank higher after reading the entire book. I loved Perfect State and this kinda gives me the same vibes just wasn't blown away with the preview chapters.
  10. Apologies and this was not intentional. I think we were all writing comments at the same time. * I think it is pretty reasonable to presume some people would die and in fact I did expect pretty bad things to happen to most of the cast. This clearly confirms though no such thing happens. Also we know that Sigzil dips early into the novel so I think it's doubtful that he suddenly makes new close connections in the span of like two days. Sorry I cannot see the confirmation here. Even if the connections are ones we know this could be just a couple of members from Bride Four for all we know. There is still a huge cast of characters that may or may not have made it. * Rosharans existing does not mean Roshar still exists. Like Roshar could be destroyed but Rosharans still exist. Much in the same way Alethkar is gone yet the Alethi are still around. Fair enough. I guess for me at least I never thought Roshar wouldn't survive however we do not know what the future Roshar will look like just that it is there. I can see how this could be spoilery though. * Wit literally is in uniform, hence why Sigzil thinks it's Kal and not another random person. It's clear he is still in his role as Wit. Agreed this is odd. It could be him just presenting himself in a familiar form though since it is a "vision" and he was not physically there. Wit does wear many hats. * Literally all evidence points to BAM being released. It matches up with everything we know on how spren bonds used to work and matched. There really isn't any mystery here I think. Again I feel like the releasing of BAM has been pretty heavily foreshadowed so I assumed this as a foregone conclusion the when, where and how is what we do not know. * One of the ending things they finish on in RoW is whether Ishars bonds are permanent as Sigzil is given a bond. We see here that no such bond exists anymore, making it fairly clear that Ishars bonds aren't actually permanent at all. I need to think about this one more.
  11. That is an interesting observation! They spoke of "columns" to the north. I wonder if there is a different environment there that is less affected by the sun. Of course I do not know why anyone would be anywhere else besides that area if that is the case. I am also curious about metal. They obviously have it and must in-turn mine it. However it seems like the end goal for the Threnodites is to go and live underground. Why wouldn't they just live in the mines?
  12. I didn't add this one because I did not understand it. @Procrastination Shard can you please elaborate on this one?
  13. Yeah I agree with this. The only thing (at least so far) that has been "spoiled" is we now know Sigzil gets involved with a Dawnshard and we should find out how he got to his current state in SA5. Like I doubt anyone was seriously worried about what happens to Sigzil in SA5 before this. I think most people assumed Dawnshards would come in to play soon after Dawnshard (the book). To me this all just builds hype and gets me interested in a character I did not really care about. Plus I agree Brandon is doing on purpose and he has a way of surprising us even with hours upon hours of speculation here and other places. I mean how many people guessed correctly that Sigzil would be the protagonist of this book?
  14. Exactly how I feel. Of the Bridge 4 crew he was probably the one I was least interested in. Plus I think this will end up adding to the hype for SA5 knowing that we will find out how he got to the state in that book but getting to read more about it in Sunlit Man before SA5. It is kinda a teaser and hype builder along with what looks like a pretty awesome story in itself.
  15. I literally just went back and read this. Yes I think this is the Night Brigade.
  16. Hmm I would say it is a little too premature to pass these judgments after only sample chapters. This is a brand new world with new characters as well as a stand alone full length novel. It will take a bit to develop. Heck you had to almost get half way through The Way of Kings before characters started taking action. That being said I didn't like TWoK the first time I read it for that very reason so I get the sentiment.
  17. I am going with Silverlight mainly because I think the protagonist is Galladon and I think Brandon want's to introduce us to Silverlight especially since he said this one is the most Cosmere involved book.
  18. I'm leaning towards Galladon (although I am never right when it comes to Brandon) 1) Side character with a viewpoint but no book of his own 2) World hopper 3) He is "very related to a main character" 4) He is bald 5) He may be holding one of the Ire orb deals on the cover No idea what he is doing or where he will be.
  19. I'd consider Vasher a major character but Galladon is a very good guess.
  20. I like this idea. I wish one of the villagers had asked for some Bamboo
  21. This is pretty much exactly how I feel. I was interested in SP1 mainly because we get to see an Aether world and that magic system (with apparently some quarks) but honestly the story didn't grab me right away. This of course might change. On the other hand SP3 grabbed my attention right away and I absolutely love the WB with these ying and yang worlds. I'm fascinated with Painter's world in particular and love seeing the magic based technology. I can hardly wait for this book so much so I almost regret reading the preview chapters.
  22. Well Hoid knows about Shards. From Painter's perspective if he was saying this in his own voice he would have probably said "Painter had always thought Tojin looked incomplete, as if the Gods had taken an unfinished person and rounded up." Hoid knows (as well as his audience) that Gods=Shards so that is the word he used in the story.
  23. Agreed this is down the road a ways. Painter's world has TV and Busses.
  24. Clearly this is in the future and the Seventeenth Shard finally caught up to Hoid who is entertaining them from his cell with a story So I got to admit besides getting to see an Aether world I was not super hyped about the storyline of SP1 but man this one got me hyped right away! I think the WB is really interesting and the apparent ying/yang between these two worlds is intriguing to me. It may also be because this (at least Painter's part) is set in more modern times I dunno. I too thought it was physical vs. cognitive world at first. I wish this one was releasing first.
