  1. I bet Allomancers, Savants especially, have a tendency towards polynemia.
  2. This is sweet! Is the order from left to right: Adolin, Renarin, Jasnah, Elhokar, Navani, Dalinar?
  3. I'm going to change my vote to Newan. I would explain my reasoning, and I realize how bloody suspiciously close to night this vote is, but I've been busy all day, and I had like forty things to read, and I wanna make sure this vote gets counted.
  4. Lady Pifferdoo had a pretty good theory when she read WoR. She speculates that the black spheres are Odium's physical aspect. Odium is confined to Braize, currently, but the act of bringing all the black spheres from Braize to Roshar effectively moves the Shard to that world. Like if someone took all the atium on Scadrial and threw it on First of the Sun, Ruin would then be moved to First of the Sun. Then, she speculates, the physical properties of the object would change. Like instead of being atium, there might be special grubs that allow birds to control peoples minds or something crazy. The physical form on Roshar is spheres (or maybe gems), and the glass sphere part could've been added later. The sphere itself contains one of the Unmade, contained like spren, and the Parshendi didn't want Gavilar to have it because they consider the Unmade to be their Old Gods. Gavilar didn't want the Ghostbloods to have it because the Ghostbloods are sneaky af, and he didn't want the Sons of Honor to have it because they would probably awaken the Unmade and use it to bring about the next Desolation. He gave it to Szeth, because he was sure that Szeth would have no idea what it was, and ignorance can be a wonderful guardian sometimes.
  5. Fricking Cohesion! You could alter things on a molecular level! I could have like a super punch that pushes into a guys head or doodle all over everything.
  6. Surprise! Now you kind of know how Jasnah felt! In all seriousness, now that Wilson is dead, we've lost probably one of our best shots at survival. I suggest a full evacuation of the town at once.
  7. Dammit, Elimination Game, stop distracting me. I have to write an essay on the Joy Luck Club.

  8. Very interesting. It's possible the two groups influenced each other in writing. Warbreaker is, in more than a few ways, a prequel to The Stormlight Archive. Plus, I'm pretty sure that Brandon was working on Way of Kings Prime around the same time he worked on Warbreaker.
  9. Lady Pifferdoo started reading WoR at around 8:00 last night and eventually finished around 5:00 in the morning. She went home after an hour or so of school.

  10. Quick RP details that I won't be able to get into writing because SLEEP: Baron Von Piffertiff has become even more closed-off to the outside world. However, he did remove his banners from outside and is trying his best to keep the servants under control, though several have run off. He has been having a harder and harder time focusing on his book, and it has gone through many revisions. Stu the Steward is growing worrisome, as he hasn't requested tea in nearly three days, drinking only brandy and eating only bread and the last of the cheese.
  11. Weren't the mist spirits cognitive shadows? I think this link to the forum page does a good job of explaining what they are. The alternate scene in WoA where the mist spirits are explained via WoB to be Cognitive Shadows of the First Generation of kandra is non-canonical, however, but I think that the idea of the mist spirit being a shadow still fits. If so, I think the mist spirit is more like the Stormfather, like the power of Preservation itself has gain sentience of a sorts. But the Stormfather is a splinter, so that doesn't necessarily work as an analogy. However, the spirit could have another cause. Before Leras died, he was still the holder of preservation, and he could have been the mist spirit (or controlling it) during his lifetime. This fits for the mist spirit doing a lot of things. After that, we know that Kelsier is still faffing about, and that he is most likely a cognitive shadow (WoB sourced in the link). Kelsier could've picked up the shard for a bit and become the mist spirit for that short time that he held the shard. I'm unsure on how this worked with the whole "Preservation sacrificing his mind so that Ruin would be bound for a time" thing, but maybe "shimmery misty spirit" is what was left over after the mind sacrifice.
  12. There's a WoB where he talks about how when Ruin and Preservation showed up on Scadrial, the Metallic Arts reacted to their presence in a way and formed into the ways we know now. The magics aren't caused by the Shards directly, they're more of a side effect. If Odium had showed up on Scadrial and set up shop there, he'd have a physical manifestation, probably Odiuite or Odite. (Odium already sounds like a metal, ha!) http://www.theoryland.com/intvsresults.php?kw=focuses --> here, there's a couple, but the main one that fits my point is 25.
  13. I am going to vote for Ash. I might explain later but right now I have to go to play practice. Just know that everyone who throws up these analyses gets bonus points, and when they are all put side by side in a lot of tabs, some patterns start to emerge.
  14. If Elendel was named after Elend, who is the namesake for Luthadel? Who is Lutha?
  15. Note: Per WoB, the LR's bracers, which pierced his skin, acted like spikes. Now, I am unsure if this means that any metal piercing someone's skin turns into a spike or what. I'm guessing that hemalurgy isn't restricted to 'spike-shaped' things.
  16. Looks like someone sure wants Ostritch alive. Or they want us to think they want him alive.
  17. Props to the Ender's Game reference. Does anyone have a running tally of the votes before the day ended? In case of S/R shenanigans?
  18. Sorry for not posting yesterday, I've been really tired, plus college scholarships are a lot of work to apply for. I'm going to vote to lynch Wyrm because of my own suspicions, along with the mega-posts, emphasizing Seonid's analyses . Has anyone got PMs from Seekers? EDIT: Lynching Colours
