  1. Preservation?
  2. The same thing that happens when a normal pewter ferring empties his pewtermind all at once in milliseconds. Compounding does not affect power in any way, it's a way to turn the power you get from burning metal into the same type of property that your metalminds store instead of the allomantic power. As it is obtained from Preservation's investiture instead of the feruchemist's investiture, he can continue storing his compounded trait without the negative side effects. And it's always a larger amount than the charge in the metal being burned, so there is net gain (I mean, burning normal metal grants allomancy so the metal is clearly not where the energy comes from). There is nothing a compounder can do that the corresponding ferring isn't capable of doing. But the ferring will almost never have the reserves necessary to make performing those techniques feasible for any period of time. A compounder's storage potential, on the other hand, are as deep as his pockets will allow him to buy metal to burn.
  3. Self-esteem does have an impact on health, so as long as you are still trying to lose weight afterwards that might actually be helpful. Full lashing the steps of an escalator to the side walls to make everyone trip.
  4. Still, lifeless threads are expensive :3 You're better off just making a new thread and maybe linking some old one. Nobody remembers what was said anymore.
  5. Been wondering for a while . . . I don't think you're spelling "symmetry" correctly.
  6. Szeth's stormlight efficiency was definitely storming terrible. He uses way too much just to heal when Kaladin can shatter his legs and fix them in seconds. I always assumed this hypothetical honorblade drain is similar to Nightblood's breath drain while drawn in order to sustain its rampant . . . vaporizing. That's a shardblade. Honorblades are the Heralds' swords that the spren basically reverse-engineered the properties of to create surgebinders.
  7. How did you manage to get that out of what I said?Usually children are at least a bit like their parents but here . . . yeah. Sounds like a really odd family. Imagine them as Kaladin and Shallan and you've got arguments going on 24/7. The real deal was probably way more honorable and honest respectively but still.
  8. Edge's list made me realize something. The two dragons that need more screentime. Aren't they both Asian?
  9. To be fair, even if it did know the results won't be much different
  10. It's funny how Kaladin and Shallan have the opposites attract relationship in absolutely everything about them, considering . . . well, Jezrien and Shallash.
  11. Yeah, this isn't really like the case of allomancy. There's no limit to how fast you can consume your stormlight (besides the fact that you will run out of course), so you can just use more. It's more like feruchemy that way if you want to compare to metallic arts.
  12. Would regrowth partially help solve the issue of passive healing being too inefficient compared to Radiants? Slicking around while lashed to the walls and ceilings would make for great mobility indoors.
  13. So have 5 people with 5 honorblades, then the sixth with the other five You can even do fancy sword-throwing acrobatics.
  14. Though talking to the sword is something I can conceive as one superstition with an actual origin. Radiants really do talk to "empty air" a lot.
  15. Nalan? He's a jerk. Self-righteous yet somehow completely apathetic. Says nothing is above law yet seems to routinely exploit every loophole in the system. Murders awesome people.
  16. I just realized something. Father is basically Super-Nightblood!
  17. Granted. They end up on Nalthis, and you will one day find Lifeless Voidbringers at your doorstep. I wish for good luck.
  18. Both their superstitions are also pretty nonsensical. I mean, does chicken for breakfast even help? Talking to the sword might, and Harmony knows dead people can do really major things in the cosmere while dead, but chicken?
  19. The same way people elsewhere say that "you have won the internet".
  20. Depends on how many ultrasonic punches to the face it would take to deplete his stupidly large number of lives?
  21. The power of love. Apparently.
  22. Actually, if anything Honor sounds like the type to let the world go up in flames over something stupid like protecting one innocent just because it isn't right to make them pay the price for someone else's actions.
  23. The ships controls are operated by the ghost of an ancient rebellion-starting psychopath?
  24. Aon Omi is love. It makes little sense to relate that to Dominion over Devotion. No more sense than Aon Tia is related to a rocket scientist turned Epic researcher who loves drinking cola.
  25. I thought the deal was that people who forgot to wish for something after granting another wish get cursed anyway?
