  1. Well most of the languages probably share similar roots from before the Shattering . . . and many things point to humankind being a non-native species to Roshar anyhow.
  2. I'm more curious about his lie detection than his memory, to be honest. Nothing comes to mind.
  3. Delightful weather, Weepings! Except to one man of course. Kaladin hates the Weeping: When it rains, Bridge Pours.

    Twinborn hack

It's still no longer pure iron, and thus will lose its ability to hold weight charges long before it becomes viable steel during the alloying process.
  5. But he can just make 2 accounts and lie to give himself an alibi.
  6. Except we don't know how the stormlight came to be. God isn't even a technical term to begin with, mostly a religious one, and we currently know nothing. Atium being somewhat different from what we are discussing is mostly because, despite all the "condensing", the beads are still seemingly susceptible to steel and iron, so whether they're even invested in the way awakened/lashed objects are is debatable.Breath is confusing enough. While Divine Breath is definitely Endowment, normal Breath seems less clear-cut, as Drabs are actually less invested than humans from other worlds with no Breath, which somewhat suggests that the Breath was a part of the spiritweb to begin with and had nothing to do with Endowment in origin besides he/she being credited for its existence.
  7. Allomancy uses Preservation as its power source, the metal is about as uninvested as they come (bar compounding). Lift, as far as as Wyndle can tell, outright creates investiture from her nutrient stores.
  8. "God bless America!" - Loki. In terms of MCU, if one cuts off the Vision's arm can it be pushed? As a Sanderfan, I want an allomantic power for vibranium

    Bleeder and Wax

Why is this not in the SoS spoiler section?
  10. Can you push Mjolnir, and does whether it's in Thor's hand or not make a difference?
  11. Health doesn't just do that, it can regenerate lost biomass or apparently even regenerate shardblade wounds or spike damage to some extent. Whichever realm it uses as a basis it's going to end up restoring you to that default. Though I don't remember if it was cognitive or spiritual. Healing shardblade cuts suggests that it can at least do the former. Atium feruchemy doesn't affect the latter, but the former is really all in your head, so I don't know if that checks out
  12. And yet humans ARE invested enough that metal in them can't be pushed. And IIRC even artificial intelligence can develop spiritwebs in the cosmere, hypothetically.
  13. ^That. I'm pretty sure the cosmere operates on Mendelian heredity like Earth, not the Lamarck sort. Lopen will not sire one-armed Herdazian children. A Brute tapping lots of strength while impregnating their wife will not have the Hulk as their baby. Formerly castrated Terris will not pass down features stemming from the absence of certain hormones.
  14. You know, a thought occurs to me. Hemalurgy is mainly spiritual, and atium is basically the strongest, all-purpose spike material for hemalurgy. Atium feruchemy is apparently mostly physical, distorting the body's age in the physical realm but not the spiritual age. I believe there was a WoB saying that, if you somehow make your allomancy strong enough, burning atium will allow you to see into the cognitive realm. This suggests that allomantic atium is primarily cognitive in nature. Interesting coincidence here.
  15. Well, I wonder if it is possible to control the healing to an isolated area . . .
  16. Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass, 1872. Says Wikipedia. I don't think the Jabberwocky was in that one was it? It matches his name, so it works.
  17. I'm pretty sure the very act of cursing something would require some sort of higher power to actually make the curse work, so yes that's normal. If you refer to it as swearing then it's even more normal to have something religious to swear by. Between "damnation" and exclamations in the name of Christ it's extremely normal. Everyone has been using the term "curse" incorrectly, for Pete's sake . . .
  18. If the body proportions come from being a eunuch, then there would not be any genes of them to pass down, period.
  19. Nobody suggested that though. The fuels for most systems are fundamentally ingrained in their very nature, you'd probably need a lot of hacking to substitute anything. The question is whether Lift can make the other fuels from food, and whether she can power another system she might gain that way.
  20. IIRC Roshar is healthier on average than normal due to the ambient investiture level and contagious disease is rare, so I think surgery might be their only major medical field to speak of (because why would a surgeon need to be able to diagnose epilepsy?). Their technology might be fairly skewed in its focus compared to Earth. Even Scadrial lacks in a lot of areas and excels at others, and that place is very Earth-like.
  21. He would need yo do it increasingly often, yes, but that's what the hut is for. He wouldn't burn in public. We don't know how much age a charged bead used in compounding can generate nor the capacity of his bracers to buffer that age. The kandra are definitely sitting on a fortune, but estimating how much TLR actually uses is somewhat of a fool's errand. Plus he'd be burning none to start with and slowly increasing.
  22. I doubt the windrunners of old understood enough about gravity and air pressure to know any better when they made the names.
  23. Ah, but looking at it differently atheism is the lack of faith in the existence any god or higher power, by the way the word itself is spelled. That means you have a firm belief that there isn't a god of some sort, which is just as much blind faith as a belief that there is. You can't truly prove either. If you simply don't give a rusting damnation about the subject that's a different case from being specifically atheistic. I can realize Buddhism exists and know absolutely nothing about it. I don't recall much of Marasi other than not knowing much about "Trell" as a figure near the end. How often does she even mention trellism?
  24. The very notion that an end-negative system can be executed losslessly already sounds really counterintuitive.
  25. You don't . . . need to burn continuously. Just store as much of it as you can and tap. I feel you're rather underestimating how much superfluous power allomancy can generate for a low-power system such as feruchemy.
