  1. I think, no matter the power in question, being able to have more of it easily is well worth the effort figuring out. And yet they run out of speed, despite how by your interpretation of the subject of the WoB getting enough to probably last for weeks in a couple of hours would be the simplest thing in the world. There is definitely something off about how they don't often compound.
  2. Focus, Center. It's in the name Elantris, being the center portion of the massive Aon Rao. Trelagism would be a word written in some ancient tongue translated into the TFE era language (apparently a Terris dialect) then written as English, though, so it shouldn't even have Aonic syllables in it any more than "Dominion" contains Aon Omi.
  3. Hatred is just as far from evil as it is close to it though. It is physically possible to hate evil. Hate disease and death, hate suffering. It is no doubt a dangerous shard now that it is unchained from the rest of Adonalsium, but unlike Ruin which is clearly forcing Ati to destroy nonstop Odium is only causing all of this destruction because of Rayse. I do believe it was Shashara and Vasher who decided on the command, and I doubt Vasher was that aware of things.
  4. You can have only one species inbreed for generations, and as long as they are somehow separated into groups with no gene flow inbetween you will eventually have one species rise from each population. Having two different results of one hybridization, given the potential presence of sex-linked traits and sDNA oddities as well as geographical isolation, is honestly not strange at all.
  5. Didn't they basically just call an emergency five minute meeting (essentially, actual time elapsed aside) and go "we need to kill this guy"?
  6. They aren't speaking English though. It won't make sense.
  7. Well my post had both the concentration issue and "its command literally involves the destruction of something".
  8. Well until I read this series I did not even realize pewter existed, so I can't blame them >_< As a Chinese guy (I read the English version because my upbringing kind of resulted in my Chinese writing fluency to tank while I can basically handle English like a native speaker. Speak both languages fine) though, I feel embarrassed about that.
  9. Crazy theory time: Nightblood achieves Ascension.
  10. I'd like to point out that hardness and durability do not directly correlate, and increasing hardness just makes the object more brittle and easier to shatter. I do not believe pewter really makes you harder either, in the sense that iron feruchemy doesn't change density. You'll probably still be . . . fleshy like before, just strangely difficult to beat up. The fact that you heal slightly faster likely helps.
  11. So brunt force applied to the environment by the steelrunner is not different than from they are in normal speed, or as you say things break . . . but air resistance seems like it still works. I think. Feruchemy is weird.
  12. Firefight spoilers:
  13. Well, portal guns can change direction. This can't. This is just one of those "travel a thousand miles in a single step" powers.
  14. Surely you're not implying that a manmade construct of intentional, human-guided design should be incapable of surpassing the natural phenomenon on which it was based? Because that's kinda the entire point of technology. To be better than the normal way things work because you know how to make it that way. I would think the innate investiture of 1000 people forcibly shoved into a sword all at once and brought to life to destroy something would be pretty dangerous. Especially since it's apparently broken, AND it drains its user to function.
  15. I don't think Leras would intentionally spark armageddon, that's not very Preservation-y. He'd at most bait Ruin into doing it for him, since the grand master plan kinda needed the world to end. Plus Harmony implies it's kinda difficult to talk to people using Preservation.
  16. But the topic is Surgebinding vs Allomancy. Using twinborn would be cheating.
  17. Not sure how the two shards that try to force him to do absolutely nothing when held together could possibly turn Harmony into an outright tyrant.

The fact that most of the enemies were busy singing probably helps.
  19. Well, Kelsier is living proof that the "center of mass only" thing is actually a little bogus, though Vin probably doesn't have that ability yet.
  20. You just singlehandedly made this entire age discussion utterly pointless.
  21. Actually, do we even know where the stormlight came from? We don't even actually know if a shard is responsible, it could even be Adonalsium. Listeners seem to predate humanity, and they require the highstorms to bind spren, a fundamental part of their physiology.

The difference is, they can't change tactics anyway so they only need to be told where to go to murder things, i.e. when calm. If I run for a lifeless army, when they need me the koloss will be in frenzy.

Sending runners to the battlefield . . . against koloss. I'm not working for your army that's for sure.
  24. I believe the general belief about that one was that it was most likely Kaladin's bond failing.
  25. Between granting sentience and turning skin loose and blue using only strength spikes, hemalurgy does weird things to bodies.
