You do realize what IMO means right? There you go. Which I completely disagree with by the way.

Wayne Disapproval Thread (Potential Wayne-related spoilers)
natc replied to aeromancer's topic in Mistborn
To be honest, I feel like the marriage would've been worse off if they did it before their little bonding on this trip. So while I question the justifications behind doing this it actually helped somewhat in the end. -
Well, something as "minor" as savantism already edges you away from the "human" definition, IIRC. So one spike seems like it ought to be enough. You basically have a spiritual genome larger than other people's by the end of it.

Well, we only need one compounder of each metal, and then we can create self-compounding medallions for each metal that can be reproduced by nicrosil compounding. It's easier with hemalurgy actually.

Ah, right, there's him. Kinda lost track.

theory [BoM SPOILERS] What K and N were looking for
natc replied to Nashan’Elin's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Indeed, it is not around Warbreaker. It is nearer to Words of Radiance, which would actually put this back into perspective again regardless. Not that I agree with the theory myself. -
poll Kelsier and Vin. Versus the Thunderclast
natc replied to Darkness Ascendant's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Well, TLR has that one difficult-to-exploit weakness I suppose. Then again TLR can also mentally speed up to plan for longer. -
poll Kelsier and Vin. Versus the Thunderclast
natc replied to Darkness Ascendant's topic in General Brandon Discussion
TLR could affect trace metal in non-metallic objects somewhat too, with his strength. So first he smashes Batman into the wall with his mind, then tap mental and physical speed so you can go downtown to buy some ice cream and stroll back over while eating it, at the speed of sound. Then poke him in the face using every method conceivable (duralumin, nicrosilminds, whatever) to for an absurd pewter flare. The whole place goes down from the sonic boom afterwards. TLR may be a bit too OP. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
natc replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you had stayed up even later than that for Secret History and had to get up at 7. 2:00AM . . . rusts I was tired that day. -
Hoid with the bead of Lerasium (Spoilers)
natc replied to FlailingMunchies's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's not like having both powers is impossible if you know what you're doing. I'm sure there are ways beyond lerasium and Ascension to rewrite a spiritweb. -
Well, it's only if they accidentally screw up that you would hear the wrong accent. It's just ancient Final Empire 'a' really.

A lot of it is also due to lack of necessity. Elendel is actually far behind the Earth analogue time period in irrigation technology and farming techniques, because the Basin is supernaturally fertile. For the same reason, there is less incentive to explore outside the Basin, as their civilization doesn't exactly have a resource shortage to warrant searching elsewhere. They have everything they need for a comfortable lifestyle, as close to comfort as a somewhat class-biased society can get. As nobody explores, there is a lack of extreme distances and undeveloped land where wired telegraphs (which I believe they do have) would become impractical over wireless communication, and for longer messages coinshot couriers and trains are serviceable enough. So no radio. Aviation is similarly pointless. Compare with the South, which was comparatively a terrible place to be and has been for over a thousand years.

I think the aliens meme is an appropriate response to the Inquisitor conundrum.
-
It isn't a system though. It is a hack used to join to separate systems together to abuse an unintended feedback loop. There's rarely any regularity towards jury rigging two things together in different combinations.

Well, it's the power overflow from excessive flaring widening the cracks in your soul used to channel the power (the cracks themselves are from snapping), IIRC, so I guess with an atium savant (if one was stupid enough to do that) it's actually the power of Ruin that changes you. The spiritual realm exerts a pressure of sorts on the physical, constantly forcing it to conform (which some magic counteracts), so with an increasingly damaged soul your body is increasing changed from what you should've been as a human, but I suppose the wider crack would also mean you can get more power faster. Depends on where the crack lies, I would say; the person's soul, the portion the spike staples on to the person, or intersecting both?
-
Well, storing power is still a good idea, as you can simply compound in advance and store that massive amount of extra attribute away for later. That way, you can control your expenditure again using feruchemical mechanics, whereas if you rely exclusively on burning you only get normal (absurd) amount and flared (absurd) amount. Also, don't always have time to fill metalminds for burning in emergencies, and unless you are the gold sort, you may still want the normal allomancy. Might as well prepare. But the net loss of power from the feruchemist themselves is minimal at best, as after the initial compounding for a good buffer you can put your compounded stores into disposable metalminds for burning instead of your own. Until Harmony himself runs dry from powering all that allomancy (unlikely) you can keep going.

The thing is, the rest of the scores are correct based on Chicken's changes O_OWindrunner was hurt by Chicken, which Chasmfiend healed, and is now back to the scores at Curiosity's post.
-
There's also the fact that nobody actually "created" the metallic arts themselves. Or any other system. Mess with to Damnation and back, modify some details, yes, but nobody created the powers. They simply happen as the world is invested. Now how feruchemy was obtained in the first place is a mystery, but nobody brought feruchemy as a phenomenon into existence directly.

Well, Jezerezeh/Jezrien is still alive, so that doesn't check out.
-
We'd need a way to remind ourselves to start though . . . Sounds good otherwise.

On a phone right now, and my phone is downright weird. That would be annoying It's number 20 on the HoA Q&A. Anyone mind?
-
Did the Elsecaller score just randomly drop by 1? Truthwatcher randomly healed too.
-
I have something that outright disagrees with that, but how does one link to Theoryland here again?
-
The thing is, you can only power feruchemy through this, not allomancy, hence feruchemical compounding. I suspect we would need a chunk of nicrosil for this.
