Given the current craze for dystopian young adult novels being made into films (Maze runner/Hunger games) I think it's only a matter of time till Steelheart hits the big screen. But Brandon wrote the Reconers series with a film in mind so a steelheart movie would probably turn out pretty good. As for his other works... well we here on the 17th shard have been willing to endlessly debate that idea, and I think the conclusion is that under the right circumstances with a director who was willing to respect the source material they could make for a great series/TV show... however I've never heard of a director doing any of those things so I doubt it will happen.

Sorry I sounded more negative in that post than I meant to I loved most of the the E.U. (hell I'm part of one of the groups that's fighting to keep it alive) the only thing that I was not sad to see go was the Vong invasion the whole idea that the emperor was really a good guy just seemed stupid to me. I also loathed TOR Revan but that's only because it destroyed my favorite star wars character just to make the villain for The Old Republic game seem bigger.

I like the way that sounds The one problem that I have with that is that David didn't take any of Megans power despite being in very close contact with her of course it's possible that he simply didn't realize he had taken any abilities or didn't intend to take them. wouldn't we all. Oh man I just finished the book and I am now scraping my blown mind off the wall. Gota say I loved how Brandon sets up the obligatory young adult love triangle and then crushes it a few chapters later I just didn't expect this at all. Megan cheating death at the end by shooting herself was pretty brilliant as was her warping reality to the point that even in his supper powered state prof seemed genuinely unnerved by her. My one complaint.... it's gona be a long year.

A lot of metalminds have little chains connecting them so that a Feruchemists can just attach them like a watch or other piece of jewelry. I imagine that most Feruchemists just clip them to their legs to hide them. Even an inquisitor would probably feel a little awkward walking up to someone and demanding that they drop their pants just so it could be confirmed that said person isn't a Feruchemist.

I'll settle for Kaladin scaring the living daylights out of Roshone. Done properly I think this could even be preferable to doing him bodily harm Kaladin can tell everyone that he's in charge now and completely destroy any respect the townspeople might have for their city lord all at the same time.

I've got two. First I forget things it can be anything but names are especially easy. I always felt like Ruin and Preservation were best classified as a group of three with Cultivation being the third. think about it Cultivation creates things, Preservation tries to keep things the same and Ruin tries to destroy things. They just seem like they all fit together but since we've only seen around half of the shards there's possibly one out there who's a better match for Cultivation.

I don't think it affects the receiver of the spike to much since Sazed didn't mention that anything was wrong with Vins soul and she was spiked for years. Although becoming a god might have helped heal any damage that said spiking did to her.

If anything the best term for a gold compounder would be invincible since they can die from old age but are immune to pretty much everything else.

Try pulling from as far away as possible and hope you can get out of the way or that the momentum of the structure runs out before it crushes you. If that fails try keeping some kind of shelter handy that wont get destroyed by little things like having a 50 story building thrown against it. Your best solution would be to spike some poor coinshot for his steel pushing but if your a villain things like ethics shouldn't matter.

I've seen this done for Ferrings and Mistings but no one has come up with a poll for compounders yet. So which compounder would you be? Me I'd be a Ringer think about it, infinite luck how great would that be. Also thanks to killersquirrel59, your chart made this a lot easier and hope you don't mind that I used your terms for Gold and Atium compounders since as far as I know there isn't an official name for them. Edit: changed up the names to be in line with cannon.

I could have sworn that I saw a quote that mentioned that they used a crude form of Hemalurgy to power their technology but I haven't been able to find it, maybe I'm just going crazy...er.

Well we know Marsh has a bunch that he's using to extend his life but i'm not sure if there are any other pieces floating around. One thing that Brandon has told us is that the people of the south make extensive use of Hemalurgy since Atium is the most useful metal for this art I could see how the people of the south might covet it. But I don't have any idea how they would get it since the pits are in the north and there is an ocean between them... I suspect that the pits will eventually start producing Atium again, heck for all we know it's already begun and this will lead to war between north and south.

For me the star wars E.U. don't get me wrong there were a lot of awesome stories and I felt genuinely bad when Disney simply caned the whole thing. but there were just so many different Authors who each had their own ideas about how the universe should work and who didn't even bother to talk to one another that by the end it was a jumbled mess. Also both The wheel of time and A song of ice and fire both series started out great (seriously books 1-5 of the WOT rank as the 3rd-7th best fantasy books I have ever read (they will most likely fall further as Stormlight Archive progresses) but as they dragged on they began to fall apart. both series had the exact same problem for me, to many characters each getting their own story and ultimately bringing down the books. I don't care that Cersei Lannister is a b* this has been established for a long time we don't need a quarter of a book to reinforce this fact.
