Except you can't use Awakening on the fly. You have to maintain contact with the object being Awakened, have an object you are willing to drain color from, clearly imagine what you want the Awakened object to do, and speak the Command. In a combat oriented game, I cannot see Awakening working well at all. Where's the color going to come from? Clothing, all right, but that leaves you with limited Awakening, and considering a lot of color drains, you have what, two/three charges? Then you have to go buy new clothes. I just can't see it working well.

Which is why I said KotOR and not KotOR II or TOR... I do not want this, if only because Awakening would become an event only power. You can't use Awakening on the fly, that's just not how it works. So it would simply be Assassin's Creed in a colorful, fictional town, in which the character uses magic during cutscenes. Lame. Allomancy/Feruchemy, on the other hand (mainly allomancy), would make for a great Infamous type game.

Are you suggesting the brilliant idea of getting BioWare to make a Stormlight Archive game? We'd have to inform them to emulate KotOR, though, and not the rest of their library. Add in the possibility to become a KR, and it would be perfect... Edit: Replay value as follows. Male/Female Lighteyes/Darkeyes 10 KR orders Maintain/Break Oaths = 2 x 2 x 10 x 2 = 80 play throughs. Hot diggety dog that sounds great. I would love to play that game.

It's going to start happening...a lot. Any answers he has given about something not having happened yet is capable of being contradicted as time in the Cosmere passes. For example, let us say that Odium does go to Scadrial for the end of the Wax and Wayne trilogy, as it seems to be occuring alongside the Stormlight Archive. At that point, the WoB Voidus provided would be completely wrong. As Brandon publishes more, and makes various events canon, that were not so prior, he will very easily contradict WoB. Due to this, we should start taking the dates of the WoBs into account, and the sooner the better. If we get into the practice now, we'll have developed the good habit for when it is desperately needed.

Cosmere "Side Series/Story" you are most excited for?
Blaze1616 replied to Slater's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Nightblood. Noightblood all the way. Awakening and BioChromatic Breath are by far the most interesting magic system in the Cosmere, to me, and so getting further information about them is something I need in life. After that it's the Elantris sequels. Both of those, Nightblood and Elantris sequels, should pull some of the Spiritual Realm curtain back, and so I am excited from a Realmatic point as well. Honestly, even though I like Wax and Wayne, way more than the original Mistborn trilogy, I'm sad it is getting preferential treatment (though I understand Stormlight's treatment) because Allomancy and Feruchemy offer next to no insight into topics we don't already understand pretty well. With each update from Sanderson, Nightblood and the Elantris sequels seem further and further away, as his brilliant mind comes up with more and more ideas he wants to write (I'm looking at you Reckoners). That is, of course, not to say I don't enjoy all his work, I just wish his prioritization were a little different. Oh well. As a side note, I feel like I'm in a First World Problems meme. As far as awakening goes, though, it is the perception of the Awakener that is important. As a result, were a Nalthian to hop to Scadrial, they would know the difference. In addition, the color aspect of Awakening is not left up to perception or intent. It had pretty rigid rules, such as the fact that a red cup was a specific purity of red. An Awakener who has not reached the Heightening to see perfect hues might think the cup pure, but that didn't make the cup fuel the Awakening as if it were perfect when it wasn't. The Intent and perception for Awakening came into play with the Command.

I'm pretty confident Brandon just meant Nazh. One of the issues Brandon has when answering questions is that he does not know how Realmatically aware the fan is. That is why Brandon often asks whether the person is a "Sharder," to know if the fan is a regular of this site. As such, when he doesn't know, he just has to make a guess based on the questions they ask. Given that the fan didn't know the title of the story, Brandon probably just assumed the asker was not from this site, and so it would be safe to bet that the individual didn't already know about Nazh's origins. He was then proven right when the person guessed Hoid. Moreover, the confirmation that Nazh is from Threnody came in August 2014, and the WoB in your post is from March 2014. This means that the person asking the question could have been a Sharder, and Brandon was giving another tantalizing hint, one which he revealed five months later. I'm now 99% positive he is referring to Nazh, after finding the dates of the WoBs.

However the rate at which Sazed can fill his ironmind is still capped because he only weighs so much. That is what I meant. The rate at which you could store connection is capped, because you only have so much connection to give.

One option would be to, if Brandon cannot reschedule due to time lost whilst traveling, he could always video chat into the bookstore. Yes, he can't sign anything, and pictures become nigh impossible, but it still allows him to interract with his fans and do a Q&A and possibly a reading. I think it would go well with him shipping signed book plates. Just a thought.

I'm waiting for them to finish so I can get them for my dad. He loved listening to radio programs as a kid, so I think it would be really cool to get him these.

Makes me wish I had more friends who would play tMAG with me...

Oh heck yeah, duralumin would be great in an RPG. Meet a new NPC? Have the following conversation: "Hey, how ya doing?" NPC: I'm just swell. Yourself? "Not too shabby. The weather is nice today right?" NPC: I suppose so. and BAM! Instant BFF. Totes useful. Edit: All joking aside, it really is useful. It also helps the RPG move faster, so long as you're the one with all the diplomacy (or whatever skill it would be given the various RPGs).
-
To add, I don't think Duralumin is actual prescence, but spiritual prescence. According to the Coppermind, it does this. So I think your notion of what duralumin does was incorrect anyways. Though I guess the use of the term "awareness" leaves things up to debate.

It is in the books that the rate of filling can fluctuate, and that the Feruchemist has control over it. There is, though, a maximum to the rate. For example, to store speed, you can only slow yourself so much before the rate flatlines. When tapping, though, there is no maximum.

According to his site, the signing was cancelled due to cancelled flights. Seeing as he was in Kentucky, the air space between there and Philly was probably very hazardous. It wasn't the snowfall itself that caused the cancellation. If that makes you feel any better

The problem with this is that a SanderCon would be set-up and run by people in the U.S., and as a result holding it anywhere other than the U.S. would involve a larger amount of attendees needing to spend those thousands of dollars/euros/pounds. Or, only Europeans show, and if that's the case, why not just run your own Euro-based SanderCon, rather than making American fans do the traveling. That is the solution that seems to work best, anyways. That being said, as an individual from Michigan, I feel some of your pain. If the Con is held in any of the usual places, I'm spending upwards of $1000 just on travel, and then add on food and shelter. I'm pretty much excluded from any Sanderson related event unless I make specific, long term commitments to go.

You have to remember that they don't return with names attached, their names are given based on how they died. In other words, when Lightsong Returned, the group of priests that decideds on names came together and said "hey, this guy died doing something bold, so let's name him Lightsong the Bold." So why they Returned is not necessarily going to be the same reason as why they are named what they are.

Series you were disappointed with...

Annotations are on Brandon's website. Warbreaker's start here -
Though I enjoyed Susey as a character, and I agree that the God King twists were great, Siri's POV made me smile every time. I do hope, however, that one day Brandon will do a chapter or two from the book from Susebron's POV, just so we see what he's thinking, and his view of the world.

Aside from what Quiver mentions above, the scene I always thought people were talking about was the one right before Siri and Susebron have sex. If I recall correctly, as it has been almost a year since I read the book, the book describes Siri straddling Susey and thinks to herself how she is a bit surprised how things have turned out between them, then the chapter cuts. I can see why that could make some uncomfortable. -

When you drive by a company called "Ati Physical Therapy," and you can't help but think of the tagline: Ati Physical Therapy; Our accupuncture is so good, you'll leave feeling like a whole new person! -
Let me re-state, sorry for any confusion. It has not been addressed whether one can taxi another human or sentient being. That being said, Nightblood worldhopped, and I feel it is safe to say he didn't do so himself. So does Nightblood count?

Don't get me wrong, I do not necessarily expect them to advance in a similar way to us. Not at all. But there still should have been some kind of advancement.

This has not been addressed. I added it to the Ultimate List of Questions some time ago, if memory serves.

Now that its over, my first two picks are the same, electrum then lerasium. Third pick will probably be Malatium, just to please pretty much everyone who has been vocal.
