  1. I'm not voting for you. I actually believe that if Maill is an eliminator, that pretty much clears you by association. Since there were only 3 votes on Badger before Ripple switched hers, and I can't believe that any eliminator team would pile up that badly this early in the game. But I do think there was a second eliminator voting on Badger and they recommended Ripple change her vote. So are you wanting me to clarify what it is about Maill I find suspicious? I already did that in part on Day 1 and my reasons there are unchanged. Add to that his comment about the WGG in a public place here and the effects that's had on Kipper (who I rather believe is a Noble) and his communications with others, and I think he was intentionally trying to spark suspicion on a Noble so people wouldn't give that Noble any information. Additionally, right at the very start of Day 1, he started a PM with me, saying only that I tend to have him killed when we're not in contact. While this tends to be true, that's normally only for limited comms games since I can't think of a single opens comms game that I've had him killed for that specific reason. When I saw that PM, I immediately thought he was an eliminator who was simply trying to appease me. He saw his alignment and thought "Crap, Wilson tends to have me killed. I need to contact her so she won't kill me." He's my biggest suspect right now by a long shot.
  2. Some comments about the Ripple voting stuff being discussed: 1. Ripple was the second vote on Phatt, placed right after Hero's. Due to the quickness in which she sided with him and the fact that by switching her vote from the person who was tied with her to someone else, I believe that she was distancing herself from someone who was voting for Badger. At that point in time, Badger had three votes on him (counting Ripple's), and I think one of those other votes was an eliminator. 2. Alvom mentioning the idea of eliminators backing Ripple up on the vote on Phatt because they didn't have a Worldsinger reminds me of the fact that Ripple mentioned again and again the necessity of more votes to block a Conspirator Worldsinger. This struck me as odd at the time. Vote manipulation is always a concern, but she kept on hitting on that. Perhaps that was because they really don't have a Worldsinger. Though if that's the case, it makes me wonder what they do have, since vote manipulation is always a good thing for eliminators to have. I wonder if they might not actually have a Guard to give them some sort of protection against the assassin, despite the fact that corruption would give them a double kill. If they have an artifabrian, they could easily use the artifabrian (after corrupting them) to corrupt the guard every couple of cycles so they get an additional kill but they also get the protection. Anyway. If they don't have a Worldsinger, Stink and Lopen rise in suspicion considerably, though I still think Lopen is the more concerning of the two. I'm most interested with the Badger vote, though, that Ripple switched from. I find it interesting that Maill was in that number, and that Maill was also the person who first suggested the possibility of a WGG with Kipper, publicly. I'd considered the possibility privately, but even in those PMs, I discounted the likelihood of it. If Kipper is a Noble (as I think is highly likely), it would do the eliminators well to suggest the idea publicly so as to let him gather suspicion. My vote is on Mallan. I will not be moving it.
  3. Depends on how many Shardplate they had. If they started with two, they might've thought the risk was worth it. Kipper is a fan of his mindgames and manipulation as well, and he'd enjoy doing a Wounded Gazelle, tricking everyone. However, I think the odds of that are fairly low. Kipper was in communication with about half the players last cycle, and I'm sure at least one Conspirator was among that number and they likely decided to kill him to get rid of him and the information he's gaining from those PMs. I figure it's about 90% certain he's a Noble. Though it would be good to get an Ardent to check him just to be certain.
  4. And this is exactly why I don't think Stink is an eliminator. At this point, it's been proven time and again that Day 1 lynches rarely harm eliminators, and they can stay well enough away and just watch the villagers lynch one of their own because we're so gung-ho on killing. While there could be an eliminator in the 5 people who voted for Phatt, I'm far from certain that there is. Even if there is one, it would be highly unlikely for there to be two. Of those 5, I'm less inclined to think that Hero, Stink or Ripple are eliminators (Ripple's response to my comment during the day assuaged my suspicions of her), so that leaves Alvom and Lopen. Assuming one of them is an eliminator, I'd be looking at Lopen, since he placed the very last vote.
  5. So I was going to write some RP, but then I got distracted by X-Files, and now all my time is gone. So....looks like it's just an action this time around. Action 3 Who: Lady Gwynne Wilson, as House Lady What: Funding a marketing campaign for the uniforms produced at the Wilson tailor Where: Luthadel and across the Final Empire Why: To market and promote the Wilson uniforms, under a campaign advertising the durability and high-quality of the uniforms, including the difficulty to duplicate them. Houses wishing to reduce the chances of their House being successfully framed in military offensive actions can use the Wilson uniforms to mitigate those chances.
  6. My thoughts? Well, over the course of the day, my eye has been drawn at various times to Maill, Raven, and Ripple. I'm not particularly suspicious of STINK, since I actually believe that a Day 1 lynch benefits the Eliminators more than it does the villagers. Especially with how much we metagame now. It's gotten to the point that so many people are in favor of a Day 1 lynch that the eliminators don't have to really got involved with it. It will just happen without them needing to place any vote on the person lynched. So when a villager ends up lynched, we get focused on who voted for the person, but no eliminators even needed to. I don't believe that an eliminator would've come down that strongly against a day 1 lynch. Add to that the fact that he's contacted multiple people (including me) offering a role exchange? Those are awfully big mistakes for an eliminator, and most eliminators don't do that. Yes, I know that the fact that I'm thinking that way means that it's possible that one could try that, but I just don't think that's what's going on here. I think he's a villager who's made some poor choices, but those poor choices don't mean that he should be lynched. As for why my attention has been drawn to Maill, Raven, and Ripple. Maill's mostly due to his role distribution post. Maill's normally pretty good about reading the rules and getting down the role abilities. He's quick to ask questions of the GM for parts that he doesn't understand. Now, maybe he didn't do it this time, but I find it odd that he wrote off the Artifabrian as not being useful to the eliminators and gave them a Guardsman, but didn't give them an assassin, when the two are pretty much the same role, given corruption. I'm not sure why an eliminator would make this mistake, but I'm guessing it would have something to do with throwing off the players from the true distribution and because he didn't have a firm grasp on the roles, he didn't assume it would matter to throw in a couple roles that aren't really on the team, but could be fun to get us thinking are on the team. Raven's was because she recommended the lynching inactives train when people were discussing actives, and there was some good discussion going on about those actives. Throwing out the possibility of lynching inactives is a good way to be seen as participating and offering good ideas without really offering anything of use that will help the village. Now, I don't really want to hit on that too hard, since I've been known to get behind the lynch on inactives as well. On Day 1. That's mostly only when it's the very last few hours of the cycle and no one who's been discussed has struck me as suspicious enough to be lynched. At that point, I actually prefer to tie the vote and not have anyone lynched, but I understand that there are plenty of people who disagree and feel that information is necessary--information pertaining directly to the role and alignment of the lynchee. I get the reasons for that, even if I personally disagree with it. So yeah. I'm okay lynching inactives when the time calls for it. But only when the time calls for it. Ripple first stuck out to me when she stuck up for both Raven and STINK. If Raven is an eliminator, I'd be willing to bet that Ripple is as well. But that STINK is not. The second bit that stuck out to me with Ripple was the quick jump from Clanky to Badger, but that's already been discussed. And....yeah. That's mostly my thoughts.
  7. I'm vehemently opposed to this plan, as it requires far too many people to role reveal and mass role reveals are never a good idea. Particularly in a game like this where the eliminators probably have an Artifabrian who they will corrupt just to spread that little bit of extra corruption and chaos. This plan requires not only the Assassins to reveal but also the Guardsmen, and while it can be bad for the Assassins to be known, it can be infinitely worse for Guardsmen, since they will kill the person they're trying to protect, and they won't know they're corrupted until their target is dead. Sure, then they can use their ability as a kill role (assuming they weren't targeted by a corrupt Artifabrian), but that's still problematic since that's still one protection role down. Plus, who are they revealing to? Some random person that they choose? That the group chooses? Who's dictating who kill whom and which Guardsman protects which Assassin? Who's calling the shots in this plan, and why should we trust them?
  8. “Brightness Katara, do you have anything to say for yourself?” Katara stared at Highprince Dalinar, shocked. She didn't even know what to say at first. How did one reply to that kind of an accusation? And why in the world were so many Nobles accusing her of being a conspirator? She'd never done a single act of treachery in her life--short though it was, and short though it might be, if these Nobles had any further say in the matter. She suddenly regretted replying to Dalinar's invitation and coming to this banquet. She'd hoped it would give her some sort of a connection to her late mother, being around the man she'd worked so closely with, but now that same man was accusing her of being a traitor. Ironic, that. She'd built up Dalinar as some kind of hero, since she'd heard so many stories about him, but maybe that's all those were. Stories. She should've known he wouldn't live up to them. He was supposed to be a great man, if a warlord. She'd even heard lately that he was embracing the Way of Kings, and becoming something even more, but those rumors were clearly unfounded. A great leader--storms, not even a leader, but just an honorable person--didn't accuse a young lady of being a traitor without even a stitch of evidence, but only on the word of Nobles he'd barely interacted with in the past. Sure, he didn't know her either, but he could've given her a chance and talked with her privately before accusing her in such a public manner. Public accusation never ended well, she knew. Her peers would never look at her the same after this. After all, what kind of Noble accrued so much doubt in their loyalty that their own Highprince accused them at a banquet of conspiring against him? It seemed like she wouldn't find that connection to her mother after all. There was no way Dalinar would let her anywhere near him. Unless....Unless she found the real conspirators. Though how she was to do that, she had no idea. But if that was what it would take to talk to him about her mother, and her final days of life, then so be it. She'd do it. She just hoped Dalinar even remembered her mother. If he didn't.....No. He would. He had to. There couldn't have been that many scribes murdered by Shardblade during the War of Unification. He'd remember. And she would finally understand. This is.....interesting. I feel like the eliminators just trolled me hard. There I was in the MR7 dead doc, swearing that I was going to give up being proactive and I wasn't going to talk in the next game that I played since clearly talking just leads to my death, and what happens? I get voted on in secret, becoming one of the main focuses of the Day 1 conversation, which pretty much eliminates any chance I have of actually following through and staying silent. Thank you so much. The only thing I have to add to the conversation right now is a response to this: As the eliminators didn't have a kill to perform last night, it would make sense for them to try to use what power they can to get one step closer to lynching a high priority target. I imagine that if I don't die today, they'll probably kill me tonight. At the very least, I'll probably be corrupted, unless they have someone on their own team who would be worth more to them corrupted--like an Artifabrian. I will say this: these first couple nights are crucial for the Ardent. I hope you were able to place orders last night since that was the only night you can certifiably clear someone without any chance of Corruption clouding the certainty of your results. Tonight will probably also be clear for you as well, so choose well. Please note that I'm not saying seek me. That's your own choice. I actually think it would be better if you didn't choose me, since I doubt I'll survive very long, which means that your seek would be better placed elsewhere to guarantee someone for a longer period of time. Not that I would complain if you did seek me. I wouldn't. I'd do what I could to help you before my inevitable death, but I will die, because that's simply what happens with me. I don't condone follow-the-cop strategies, and I'm not condoning it here, but I do think it's important for the seeking roles to do what they can to link up guaranteed villagers, so people know who to trust when the cop dies. Trust is paramount in this game. Which leads me to one final thing: Do not role reveal in your PMs. It's far too early to trust the person you're talking to, and there are no abilities in this game that would be beneficial for the eliminators to know (I'm thinking specifically of a thug-type role with multiple lives). Additionally, you don't know who could be spying on your PM. So please, please don't reveal your roles, even if you're nothing more than a Brightlady/Brightlord.
  9. I'm up on the third floor with the pizza.
  10. Did we want to meet on the third floor again? Same place we met last time?
  11. Total game numbers sits thusly: First place (31 players): LG11, LG12 Second place (30 players): LG4, LG10 Third place (29 players): LG2, MR5 If we only count MR, the numbers are thus: First place (29 players): MR5 Second place (28 players): MR8 (currently) Third place (27 players): MR1, MR7 And just because, the biggest QF was QF8 at 22 players. Hm. Now I want to add a new tab to my spreadsheet where I track game totals for both total players and survivors in all games and in each format.....Must go read up on functions again. (I've said it once and I'll say it again: I think I have a minor addiction to spreadsheets....But it's only minor. I promise. )
  12. I'll be there. We're play-testing Cosmere Cards Against Humanity still, right? Also, I should be able to bring pizza this time around.
  13. This statement could not be more true. I've realized over this last turn that I could be the poorest House with the lowest AS and I'd still have a ball tracking the genealogy stuff. When it comes to the actions, I'm just mostly talking to others and getting ideas and playing from there. So you don't have to be an awesome strategist or anything. All you have to do is start with a basic idea of what you want your House to kind of focus on and adapt from there, and people you talk to can give you ideas for that (not that they'll be directing you, but through talking to them and hearing about what they're doing, it can give you ideas of what you can do).
  14. Araris already answered this, but here's the exact quote: Only two people have made that action public this turn and neither tried for an heir last turn, so they're following the rules just fine. Gwynne Wilson slept, dreaming she'd fallen afoul of some plant and now had hives all over her body. They itched. Why wouldn't the itching go away? Gwynne tossed and turned in her bed, scratching her arms and trying to reduce the itching but nothing worked. After a few minutes, she bolted awake and looked down at her arms. Nothing. No little red bumps. She breathed a sigh of relief. She'd never had an allergic reaction before, but if the real thing was anything like the dream, she never wanted to. Her heart raced, and she knew she wouldn't be able to get back to sleep so she swung out of bed and dressed herself. Unira would be upset that Gwynne hadn't called her, and she'd probably lecture her about how ladies aren't supposed to do such mundane tasks. But then, lady's maids shouldn't be lecturing their lady either, so Gwynne found it hard to really take Unira seriously. And anyway, with the rumors she'd been hearing, she didn't feel comfortable around a number of the servants who trailed after Unira. Gwynne knew she had spies in her house, ready and waiting for her to spill information to her lady's maid so they could report it back to their employer. She refused to make their job too easy for them. She hurried out of her quarters, leaving the family wing. She had a busy day today and the earlier she started, the better.
  15. If you'd like, you can. Katara is only very distantly related to Original Wilson, though. Actually, all of my Cosmere characters are related to Original Wilson is some way. Most are very distant relations. The closest was Wick Wilson in MR6, since he was her great uncle or something like that. The rest are all who-knows-how-many-great-nieces to her. I was hoping that if she'd survived LG12 that she'd have direct descendants, but alas. (Note: she did survive. She absorbed the fire that tried to consume her and now has fire manipulation skills. I would've showed those if I'd survived a little longer in MR7, but alas (Zhier would've seen someone messing around with fire). I have a horrible habit of dying just before I can bring to life the RP I want....) Aw, but what if she wanted to kill the son of her mother's killer?! *sigh* I lead such a hard life, having to settle for who I (may) get to kill....
  16. I'm pretty sure you should be able to go to the administration office and tell them what happened. File a complaint. Teachers can't legally do that and they can (and should) be reprimanded for doing so. It's breaking the law. And also, this is something I loved about college/university. If a professor was 10 minutes late, you could leave and even of they came to class after, they couldn't count that absence against you. At least, that's what the attendance policy was at my school. Teachers were held on the same system as students a student was absent if they showed up after 10 minutes. Do class was cancelled if a teacher showed up after 10 minutes. There were many times when the class would be looking at the clock counting the time and then the teacher would walk in 9 minutes late. My own bad high school teacher experience:
  17. MR's and LG's are my personal favorites. Particularly LG's, thought MR's are a nice change of pace. QF's a little too fast for me. Ren can correct me if I'm wrong since he's the GM for the next MR, but I'm pretty sure it'll be Roshar-based. I don't think it'll be spoilery though, at least not if you've already read WoK. If you want to get a look at it before signups go up, here's the link. I'm pretty sure that's roughly what it'll look like, though he could've tweaked some things since he posted it in that thread (the Game Creation thread is where we post games we create for others to comment on balance and give ideas for roles or whatever the creator is looking for).
  18. Depends on what type you're looking for. We've got three formats. Long Games, Mid-Ranges, and Quick Fixes. Long Games run back to back, with sign-ups starting after a LG ends, with sign-ups running for a week. QF's run in the middle of each LG, and MR's run between the games, starting after the QF ends and running through LG sign-ups. In theory, we always have at least one game running, and when one ends, another will start soon. If you're asking when the next game starts, QF9 just ended, so signups for MR8 should go up in the next week or so. We'd love to have you (and anyone else) join us! We always love new blood.
  19. If it's poison ivy, I doubt it would've come from the farmer's market. That's held in the civic center and they do it every week. And I never actually touched the tree but my dad was leaning against it.
  20. No idea actually. I wasn't paying much attention to it, but we know it wasn't Juniper and my dad's pretty sure it wasn't oak, and those are the two I know I'm allergic to (though both are very minor allergies). This must be one I wasn't tested for since it's in Montana and I live in Utah.EDIT: the tree was one like the one in the background of this picture. If anyone knows what kind of tree that is, I'll be greatly indebted to you for helping me learn what has caused this severe allergic reaction. Edit2: Might not be the tree after all. My sister in law mentioned that on the way out, we walked past an incense booth burning grass. If I could stalk them and inflict upon them what they have inflicted upon me, I would. I am unamused.
  21. I went to a farmer's market this morning, and while my niece and nephew were getting balloon figures from a guy there, my dad and I were waiting near a tree. On the drive back to my brother's house, my right hand started itching and I thought something bit me. Then I noticed more "bites" on both my right hand and my left hand. Yeah, they're not bites. It's an allergic reaction. I think it's hives (though I'm not 100% certain) and I have about 60-70 of them up my left arm, and now they're spreading up my right arm too. I've never had a reaction like this, and that tree was not one of the ones I knew I was allergic to. :/
  22. Okay, so after almost a week of crappy wireless and very little data left, I'm finally able to post. Unfortunately, my nephew's birthday party is in about an hour so I don't really have time to write up some RP. I did warn that this was probably going to happen though, so I don't really feel bad. I'll get some next turn, for sure. Action 3 Who: Lady Gwynne Wilson, as house Lady What: hiring workers for the Wilson plantation and tailor Where: In Urteau (for the plantation) and Luthadel (for the tailor) Why: For increased production of uniforms and profit
