  1. Wilkin scoffed. He would never run. Not from such a lowly Shard as this. One who could only Hate. Hate was such a meaningless, trivial emotion. So powerless. All Hate did was compromise one’s ability to think rationally. Hate made you less of a person. It was nothing compared to Life. “You know nothing of Wilkin. I Intend to see things grow; I Intend to see life on. I know life better than you.” Life had power. Sure, Hate consumed everything in its wake, but that didn’t make it powerful. Eventually, it would consume itself. But Life. To create--to grow--that was power. The other Shards appeared then, and Wilkin was reminded about their true power. Preservation. Endowment. Dominion. Honour. Ruin. All powerful. Far, far more powerful than Odium. Hate. Hal could threaten all he wanted, but Wilkin knew who held the true power. Pure and raw. And it wasn’t Hal, the lowliest of the Shards. It was here. In Wilkin’s group. All of them, together.
  2. Wilkin scowled. Hal was still trying to insinuate that he was Survival. “Dare you talk to me of life, and the price you have to pay?!” Wilkin was Cultivation. He was Life. He knew Life. Hal was not it. Hal did not deserve it. “Your intent is just to Hate; that’s the path you chose to take!” If Hal wanted to survive so badly, he should let others have a similar choice, but no! All Hal could think about was Hate and sowing discord amongst the Shards. All he could do was kill. If that was the only Fate he’d allow Wilkin and the other Shards, that’s the only Fate he would find. You reap what you sow, after all. Hal was simply reaping the Hatred he’d inflicted. He’d find no life so long as he continued down this path.
  3. Wilkin circled, eying the halberd warily. He’d need to be even more careful, or he’d soon find himself impaled or worse. He only had to last until the others arrived. Just a little longer. And then he’d see Hal taken to justice. Wilkin just wished he would be more….reasonable. Couldn’t Hal see the strife and trouble he’d caused? Couldn’t he see that he wasn’t helping anyone? He was causing so much pain, and ending so much life. Hal had to see it. And Wilkin had to stop it. There was nothing else for him to do. “Come with me, Hal Heatherlocke. Now the wheel has turned around. Odium means nothing now.”
  4. Wilkin came out of his roll and turned, eyes widening at the Blade. Panic started to set in, ebbing the anger slightly. He had nothing. No defense. Except...that wasn’t quite true. He was Cultivation. He had Cultivation. His own Blade formed, and he fell into the forms he had learned. “Men like me can never change. Men like you can never change.” Wilkin swung his Blade toward Hal’s midsection, but the man dodged and parried the blow. “No, Lord Odium. My duty’s to the world; yours is to hate.”
  5. Wilkin glared at Hal. How dare he invoke Edrab’s name. No morals. Wilkin knew he shouldn’t be surprised. He knew he shouldn’t feel anger over that, but he did. The anger--the hate--was there, and he couldn’t restrain himself any longer. He may not have any weapon--horrible lack of foresight there, but Wilkin was Cultivation, not Caution or Insight--but he wanted to beat the man until his fists were bloody. He dashed toward Hal. “You must think me mad! I’ve hunted you across the ‘verse. A man like you can never change. A man...such as you…” Wilkin swung his arm as he got near Hal.
  6. Please note that Haelbarde and I will be live-posting the sing-off/duel that had been promised. If you could refrain from posting until Haelbarde’s last post, that would be appreciated Wilkin was done with this. All of it. The drama with this Heatherlocke, and what the man had done to not only Wilkin’s loved ones but also the Seventeenth Shard as a whole. It was despicable. And he was putting an end to it right now. He found Hal just outside of Kae. He advanced toward the man, but stopped short, feeling the Hatred flowing from Hal, the Investiture no longer suppressed. An unseen band struck the chords of , and Wilkin started singing.“Hal, at last, we see each other plain. ‘The Lord of Hate’. You’ll soon have no more reign.” He forced himself to continue toward Hal, pushing through the Hate. Wilkin was Life. He needed to put an end to anything that endangered him and his Intent.
  7. Is that according to Wikipedia? Because this site shows it's slightly different, according to 2014 stats. (That site is actually the reason I couldn't answer this question. I got a little too curious about the differences between the city proper populations and the metro areas and it meant I couldn't answer. )
  8. You've never outright denied being Odium, but you've hinted. Like when you asked about Preservation. Or strongly implied that you were Survival. Or just now when you mentioned something that I "believe" to be attempted murder. The use of belief in this instance indicates that you think I am incorrect, but if you are/were Odium, you *did* attempt to murder me by trying to kill me and Shatter my Shard. That's not belief. That's fact. Therefore, "attempted murder" is indisputable. Yet you are disputing it. See?
  9. Ah, but I have no loyalty to you. You once held the Shard of Odium. Heck, you might *still* hold it for all I know. Your denials are great, but I know without a doubt that you started this game as Odium because I know all the other starting Shards and they've proven their Shardness. My investment in you failed. Process of elimination states that you can only be Odium. And therefore, we're not on the same team. There is no bus to throw you under in this situation. Sorry. However, I'm certain that I don't have to lead your lynch or even be involved at all to ensure your death. But where would the fun in that be?
  10. I don't "almost" feel sorry for them. I'm tempted to send myself back to my Corner of Shame for this. On the plus side, that result should help anyone with lingering doubts as to my alignment. While there are chances I might've thrown a teammate like Eol under the bus due to his sudden popularity and then equally sudden inactivity, I never, ever would've thrown Alv under the bus. Or Hael (though he technically doesn't count quite yet since he's still alive). And a teammate who's been mildly active, holds a roleblock for my team and my reasons are based solely on gut? Nope. No. Just so much no. Question to PK: Is there a reason that, despite your consistent activity, you've avoided voting for all three eliminators who have been lynched?
  11. So a while ago, I got this letter from a health insurance company I used to have. They were the target of a cyberattack and were letting me know that I have 24 months free subscription to an identity protection site. Since the enrollment period ends at the end of this month, I figured I'd sign up, not because I actually think my identity will get stolen, but more just as both peace of mind and to satiate my curiosity about my credit score, which I haven't checked in far, far too long. Now, I knew that my credit score wouldn't be bad. The last time I checked, about 4 years ago, it was around 750, and that's about what I'd expected it would be at. I mean, sure, I've made a couple payments on my cell phone bill a couple days late, but I'm normally very good about paying things on time with auto payments and such. And I knew that my credit score was high enough that if I go in to apply for a loan, I never have any issue in getting one nor getting a fairly low interest rate. But I was still curious about what exactly it was. It went up. I won't specify by how much but I was somewhat in shock. I had to take a picture and send it to my dad, who is the reason my score is that high. The financial wisdom I have is all due to him. Parents are great*. *When they're being competent parents, which some of the parents of those who post on the Bad Day thread are not.
  12. Maill, your banner is still 5 pixels over the height. It's 350x105. (You can check size by inspecting the element if you're on a desktop)
  13. How early you preorder your book has no bearing on your place in the digital line. The digital line is separate. If you want to be in the raffle for the first 100 numbers, you need to register on the digital line in the first 24 hours. After that, it's based on the order you sign up in the line. So if you don't make the hundred, it's about signing up on the digital line early to get a lower number (though it'll be around 400 because of Wellers and the other bookstores).
  14. I know, right? So, so great.
  15. Yep. He shot me 3 very short PMs over a period of an hour and 15 minutes but didn't say anything in here. Nor did his PMs even mention the fact that I'd voted for him. One of them did say that he hadn't voted much and didn't know who to vote for though. And another was trying to get me to tell him Maill's role. I know he saw the thread, so I'm not sure why he didn't defend himself or say something if he's a villager. But then, I don't know why he wouldn't say something if he's an OC as well. I do think this is an interesting contrast to LG10 when he was the Witness and he got accused of being an OC and he had a lot to say in defense of himself then.
  16. The mobile site doesn't even show signatures currently.
  17. Macen is dead.... >> There were two Awakeners who scanned you and both scanned as High Investiture from Scadrial, which is what broken!Ruin would scan as. And a Thug. In Antillar's defense, he leaned more heavily toward you being a thug. I was the one who thought you were Ruin, so I'm the one who asked Joe all the clarifications about broken Shards and scans as well as minor roles holding broken Shards and what shows up on scans.
  18. I'm going to be completely honest here: Besides Hael, I'm not sure who the other OC's are. I thought Nico was Ruin, but I'm far less certain about that now. While I could go after Hael, I'm not comfortable going after the newly-created Normal Champion when both Ruin and Odium are out there (I'm positive Hael passed Odium on Night 4). However, my lack of certainty doesn't mean I don't have ideas. I do. My gut right now is telling me that Antillar is an OC. I'm not sure if he's Odium or Ruin, but I'm leaning towards Odium. Full disclosure: he is also an Awakener. Why does this matter? It makes sense for the OC's to start with an Awakener, given the fact that Odium can only kill Shards and the investee can only kill non-Shards. They would need a role to help them figure that out, just in case the village doesn't make it easy to figure out the investiture level. The thing is, we have made it fairly easy to guess at investiture levels. So Antillar has been able to scan for us. Thing is, he was the last Awakener to contact me. Now, that's not the reason I suspect him. I actually suspect him because of how little he's had to say and do and the fact that the only person he's been talking to has been me. Granted, he doesn't have really any other PMs, but he could easily request more. But he's content exactly where he is. And he's been sliding under nearly everyone's radars. That is a perfect place for an eliminator. Right next to the person with all the information, posing as someone helping them out, and sliding under everyone's radars? Yeah. It doesn't get much more ideal than that. I want to be clear that this is mostly gut. I have very little evidence to back this up, unlike the Alv and Eol lynches. Do I really believe that Antillar is an OC? Most definitely. The more I think about it, the more I believe it. But that doesn't change the fact that I have very little true evidence. So follow me at your own discretion.
  19. City proper or including the metropolitan area?
