  1. But formless isn't a real alter? She just decided to disregard all of her emotional hangups and go full-dark. I wonder if faux-formless remembered Testament or not?
  2. I like the reversal of how the humans got it wrong and thought "The Listeners worship the Chasmfiends" to now where the Singers are actually truly living with them!
  3. It might matter what you consider yourself to be. Baron considered himself his old heritage and not his new one. I wonder if he would still be able to use ChayShan if he were raised not knowing he was from that region and instead thought he was from the Elantrian area. Or even if he just didn't care about his heritage and 100% wanting to just fit in with the new culture he was born into. Baron is likely not to renounce his heritage in just one generation, but his children? That might be more interesting.
  4. I wonder if Shallan is a terrible soulcaster because of her broken bond with Testament? I am not sure if it is blocked since she doesn't want to remember soulcasting, or if her soulcasting abilities are somehow more connected to Testament in terms of use. One clue is that Shallan seems to hear Testament when she soulcasts the blood, so my guess is she will never be able to fully do it until she revives or releases Testament. Make me wonder too if soul casting is the secret to Shallan's weird past. Did she soulcast something as a child and that is what got her in trouble?
  5. Hoid seemed EXTREMELY shocked though. He actually fumbled... It has got to be more than just a deadeye bond. Heck, what are the chances Hoid was around to see a deadeye bond when they first even happened (if there even is a deadeye bond that can be seen with investiture).
  6. Anyone else think this story is about Honour (the loyal dog) trying to become a dragon (to get his gal Kora to notice him?)
  7. When preteen Shallan and Wit first meet, Wit is extremely shocked to see Shallan. I assumed he was seeing the Pattern bond, but Shallan had already deadeyed Testament at that point and now we know Pattern wasn’t bonded yet. So what did a Wit see? Can he see a deadeye bond or did he detect something else? Anyone have any thoughts?
  8. There’s a theory that Shallan is Chanarash or that Shallan’s mother was Cahanarash or a weird version where Shallan is her own daughter reborn like an avatar or something. if you look at the herald painting it looks nearly identical to Shallan. We have a wob that Shallan’s parents are her real parents, but maybe her mother was Chanarash and then her mom faked her death? It would also explain why Nale didn’t come to kill Shallan as he might be hesitant to step on Chanarash’s toes. anyway, not saying I believe it. But I would secretly love if Radiant’s secret was to do with herald connection in some way. If it were true, I wonder if Chanarash would sacrifice a daughter for Hemelurgy or something? Could be interesting. Maybe that’s a way to retain sanity?
  9. It would explain why Name never came to kill Shallan (he wouldn't kill a herald's child) Also, the livestream confirmed they can have children somehow (maybe not the simplest way).
  10. I mean, Adam knows the answer and Brandon kept saying :"No worries, it happens. Don't feel bad Adam". It was a very very playful "but I (Brandon) didnt say it..." kind of thing. 100% it was a slip and it is confirmed. Rlain makes sense seeing that his mateform didnt go so well!
  11. They said the chat had guessed correctly who the crush was. Anyone catch it? I was working so couldn't read the chat. Also the items in the shop did get there magically, but it not directly the shopkeeper who did the thing to bring the flute and horse back.
  12. In the live stream it was accidentally confirmed who his crush is. The host confirmed the chat was correct in their guess. I cant see the chat comments though. "The chat has guessed it" then Brandon said "It isnt meant to be a secret or a trick"
  13. Ooooh, that is clever. Also made me wonder if Spren could be made of anti-investiture as well? If there were a For amount of anti-for, would that become sentient in a similar way? With Gavilar's box, I wonder if the box somehow flipped the investiture in order to transport it? Interesting....
  14. Can we please get a Renarin cast where his top fans discuss all things Renarin? I need the Overlay to hobnob with some unnamed other shardcasters
  15. Refugees fleeing to Nalthis. It would explain all the Warbreaker hints and would follow the exodus trail of the Iriali (and the general theme of human/singer migration and displacement).
  16. I thought Roshar would be destroyed at the end of book 5 (minus Karbrandth), but that seems super unlikely now seeing as Tod probably wouldn't want that to happen
  17. I also love how the Wit's spren completely undoes the story and refuses to let Wit tell it like a storyteller, but instead Wit has to prevent it more like a set of factual statements. The fact Design has no patience for prelude or subtlety absolutely delights me. I enjoy the meta of it; like, yes Wit WE GET IT, now get to the good stuff. #designisthebestspren
  18. I always read this voice as being the voice of the item she turned into blood (like how the stick spoke or how the stone spoke to Venli). Either your idea or mine could be true, I think. I would prefer if it was Testament, but I am not convinced Testement can speak even as a deadeye wielded by her original radiant. Maybe though!
  19. My tinfoil theory is that the Dawnsingers gave the "made" to Odium to unmake, and that turned the regular Spren against the Dawnsingers.
  20. To be fair, a flip of a coin and this could have happened. There are universes where it did.
  21. This is sort of true. Odium didn't think dumb Taravangian would be a threat, so he maybe jumped into a vision without checking the surroundings first. Odium knows which days Taravangian is an idiot, so this likely played a part. None of this appears to be in the diagram though, so it is unclear if smart Taravangian knew or if this was just something Cultivation vaguely foresaw as a possibility.
  22. Part of me thinks Cultivation didn't think Rayse and Tanavast didn't have the chops to help her defend Roshar (from what I dont know), so she had them done-in and Cultivated new vessels. It is even possible she plans to off herself as well and be replaced by Lift. Shards are the most free when they first get a new holder, so maybe she wants less-bound vessels.
  23. We must overthrow the Lord Robber.
  24. "Who taught you to horde wheat like that?" asked Azure "My game-master" wheezed Adolin
  25. I think we need to know more about "The War of the Surges". Did Cultivation recruit Tod to fight alongside her? Will those shards redirect their energy away from destroying Roshar and instead fighting other worlds? Is the whole Tranquline Halls thing going to happen and the Singers and Humans will go off to new battles?
