  1. No, Savantism cannot be stolen via Hemalurgy, and I dont think there's any indication that you can alter the implanted piece of Spiritweb in the spike (outside Forgery or something equally foreign) so it shouldnt come along with the spike even if you develop it from the Spike's powers.
  2. No, a Radiant cannot (with current knowledge) reclaim the Stormlight from anyone elses' surges, only their own, even if it's the same surge/Order. A Lightweaver can reclaim power from their own illusions, a Windrunner can reclaim some power from their own lashings, etc, but not the others. And it seems like only the ongoing sort of surges can do that, so a normal Edgedancer might be able to reclaim some Stormlight from their own slick-awesome (though Lift has her own problem taking in Stormlight).
  3. I got it from the Coppermind, but it doesn't seem to have an original source for that description.
  4. Breeze has a mustache, but you're probably right that the chin-hair might be artistic deviation. But Dox is "Stocky" to Breeze's "Portly".
  5. Kinda depends on what you'd call "Portly". I like this drawing, personally: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/p__/images/9/92/Breeze1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20200723184148&path-prefix=protagonist
  6. Been here a good long while and I didnt know half of that...
  7. FUN! A few first impressions: The Fae believe there are two basic Magics: The Glamour and Grammour (sp?), the Arts of Seeming and Being, respectively. Naming is the most potent of the latter, but both Sympathy and Alchemy appear to be attempts to "hack" simpler and less dangerous uses of basic Naming mechanisms. Glamour is basically Lightweaving and Rioting, since the only two examples I can think of involved visual deception or what seemed like vague mental pushing. Naming is probably heavily Connection-based, since it provides some language translation effects as you get closer to learning a Name. There's time Dilation in Shadesmar, indicating an astronomical concentration of Investiture there. Conclusion: there is a Cognitive Realm Investiture horde akin to the Dor, described in legends as The Moon (but likely a Shards power). This is likely the "missing" Perpendicularity of one (or both) Shards. Local (recent) legend indicates Investiture can be harvested and crafted in certain area's of the local Cognitive Realm. Appears as tangible Shadow and Starlight, rumored to historically have been crafted into clothing that persists into the Physical. Non-Metallic Solid Investiture? Need to confirm, seek recent witness. The Seven appear to be Cognitive Shadows (akin to Nalthian Returned or Rosharan Heralds) who's origins are a mystery. "It is to be noted that at no point does the Namer interact with the cognitive aspect of the object like in Soulcasting." However, writings found in the Library of the University of Imre do theorize about "Perception as an Active Force" do call this into question, further research will be needed. (Researcher's Note: Will need to acquire the works of Metcaff, additional Funding maybe required.)
  8. Not sure that would work, the that stuff reacts to Kinetic Investiture specifically, not just leakage Also the decay (if there is one) could be any of several types of radiation, or even just Hemalurgic Decay that bleeds back to the Spiritual Realm instead of releasing as Energy. But the broader question of whether Atium (feruchemically Charged or otherwise) has any sort of Decay is an interesting topic, and one that might be explored soon if The Lost Metal is hinting at what many suspect it is. Thematic Nature of Ruin might say Yes as an analog to Hemalurgic Decay, but then Atium was specifically intended by Preservation to be a way to Trap Ruin's Investiture, so it might not Leak for that reason.
  9. I think the fact that Hoid was able to get such a specifically incriminating memory from an enemy as the best evidence yet that Copying memories in Copper is possible. But Hoid has a much larger bag of tricks and we now know that Breaths can store memory too.
  10. Autonomy, and Avatars, might have more discretion and diversity with their interpretation of the Intent. Some are Isolationists, others see themselves as Freedom Fighters.
  11. Probably age Rapidly, but it wasnt locked down as of 2018:
  12. Agreed. It's also why I suspect Dalinar wouldn't have been able to use Connection to Read until he established his own Native (Written) Language and became literate.
  13. No, I dont think so, all indication is that the Vessels mostly just wanted to Contain what they considered the most dangerous Shard (Ruin). And they both specifically represent the Cycle of Creation, it's why Ruin would be so compatible with Cultivation:
  14. I agree that Change is likely one of them, and one that represents the quadrant (or some grouping) that both belong to:
  15. There's a pretty strong indication that even the Metallic Arts dont actually Invest Aluminum. Per WOB, Aluminum doesn't Compound, rather it just destroys the Aluminum. And since the Hemalurgic power "Removes All Powers" but doesnt transplant them, it's likely that Hemalurgy doesnt actually Charge the metal either.
  16. They essentially got rolled into Dalinar's military and/or Kingdom. Dalinar offered to let any leave that wanted to, and the rest were organized into 20 "Bridge Crews" in honor of their old life. Two people from each were trained by Bridge 4 (in medicine, tactics, cooking, etc) and then seeded back into the rest. According to the Coppermind at least 5 crews were given some sort of Guard duty eventually, including Bridge 4. https://coppermind.net/wiki/Bridge_crew
  17. Gavilar as the Everstorm's Bondsmith, perhaps...
  18. More or less. You cant (by current in-world understanding) steal more than one attribute from a single person with a single stabbing. You have to have specific Intent to rip that single piece off, one chunk per Ripping Action. So if, for example, you took 4 different (viable) metals rods and twisted them into a function spike shape (but didnt heat them to alter their alloys or anything), you could stab the multi-spike into a person but could only Charge 1 of the four metals from that person. You could do that three more times with three more victims and get all four metals charged, but you'd have to physically separate them an implant them in different Bind Points to get all 4 effects.
  19. This makes me feel a lot better thanks! My research had focused on Cave-finding specifically, but that technology was focused on finding bunkers and small caves for military purposes in WW2 and later. The issue there is that it wasn't Siesmic/Acoustic, it required Radio Wave technology and radar-style displays (though you can do a whole lot with just a needle and a sweeping motion on the sensor, it doesnt need to be a literal TV). That's a side of Science Scadrial (or at least the north) is specifically deficient in, which is what made me question it in the first place. But they definitely have dynamite and could be doing this level of reflection seismology. The normal sensor transducer is basically just a special microphone, so either Tin variant could probably hear or feel the reaction on their own. They could play receiver themselves or just prompt science to replicate/detect what they say they can hear. The rest is a lot of repeated explosions and even more Math.
  20. Per WOB it's not sourced in the metallic arts, but that's all we know for certain. We suspect it has something to do with being a former Dawnshard, like with his inability to do physical Harm, but he has access to all kinds of unknown magics so it could be something he picked up along the way.
  21. I dont think so. The Spiritweb chunk in the Spike stays there in the Physical Realm rather than the Spiritual Realm where the Spike can target. So you divide and redistribute the physical spike but you cant steal the charge from one spike into another. Now, Per WOB you can steal fake Spiritweb created with hemalurgy, so that's possible. I dont really know, but you might be able to steal something a Power grants via a different metal. For example, you might be able to Spiking In Steel Allomancy with a Steel Spike, but then while they are actively Burning the metal you might be able to spike out SteelSight using a Tin spike, because you'd be stealing Senses that were temporarily augmented, rather than trying to re-take or subdivide the spiritweb chunk housed within the initial spike.
  22. Im going to say No, because the Intent element is so critical to what is taken when harvesting Spiritweb with a Spike. You'd either Rip out a chunk and charge the non-charged tip (assume it was a viable metal), Or you'd implant the pre-charged bit and ignore the bit in the way. Or if the coating went around the whole object so the viable metal never touched blood, it might fail entirely and just cause a stab-wound.
  23. I can think of at least two: Moash and Amaram (in the throws of Yelig-nar). There's also the time that Glys said "My sorrow, Renarin. I will give you my sorrow." which has a similar theme and which some have theorized is functionally relevant to actual Voidbinding (as a distinct magic). Devil's advocate on that is that it might not be anything innate to Odium and instead might have to do with the fact that per Honor's Binding he cannot directly harm people that havent given him permission to do so. That means it could be more of a result of his Imprisonment in Roshar and not purely the Intent of Odium.
  24. It's leaking Investiture, and one WOB implies that it might be connected (or Connected) to Ruin's Investiture, so somethign akin to the Black Mist. So far it hasnt been shown to do anything directly, though nobody has tried anything exotic like fueling a Surge with it. However, once the smoke is leaking Nightblood enters an Unleashed State, where his personality changes to a far more destructive and shouty version, and where even the Aluminum Sheath becomes part of the Weapon.
