  1. Probably not directly, but I think (with the right knowledge) you could simply Command a breath to recharge a Gem and convert to an equivalent amount of Light (Storm-, Life-, Void-, etc) but it would then have all the same properties as the Light, such as stormlight's leakiness. WOB says Breaths are some of the easiest to fuel other Magics, they're just super rare and restricted in Supply. Or it's possible that a Bonded Radiant would just burn the Breath if they had no Stormlight, closer to how Nightblood or a Divine Breath can somehow Eat any available Invesiture without needing a specific type. The latter is supported by the fact that so far Surges behave the same regardless of the flavor of Light used to fuel it.
  2. My understanding, and it's been a very long time since I last read Emperors Soul, was that he didnt actual "die", rather he was rendered Brain Dead by the head injury and their non-spiritual form of Healing (ReSealing) could not repair the damage (because you have to know every cell and vein and interaction, and even we dont know that much about the brain). So by realmic standards he didnt Die so much as receive a debilitating Injury with no way to restore from the Spiritual Idea "backup". As far as What the Seal is realmically doing in that case, I think it does two things: it provides the realmic bridge to his existing Spiritweb and Cogntive Aspect which his grey matter can no longer provide (reminiscent of the Kandra/mistwraith "blockage"), and it uses Dor to Pull those aspects out of their true alignment (subject to snap-back, etc just like Feruchemical Age). The "ideal" Stamp from an energy use perspective would not actually have changed anything, it would have woken him up exactly the same and that would have required the least amount of Investiture. The additional Investiture a stamp takes the goes toward maintaining an Alteration from the "ideal" in the same way Feruchemcial Age pulls against the person's true State more and more as it deviates further from the actual Truth. Another thing to consider: We now know that the Dor is going to cause significant Time Dilation on Sel relative to the rest of the "objective" Cosmere. But we do not know which direction it skews. On top of that excess Investiture will lengthen the Moving Beyond time window. So it's possible that the Dor could significantly lengthen that window both by realmic proximity and/or by Time Dilation, and the 100 Day window is a matter of minutes elsewhere.
  3. Lets see. We know the storm causes Time Dilation. It definitely affects the way the people interact with Investiture, but it also might not interfere with traditionally Spiritual things like the basic Investiture of Life that Feruchemy can divert and store. It might give the population a slightly elevated base-level of Investiture in the same way the Highstorm does for Rosharans. I suspect the Cognitive aspect expression will have adapted to coexist with the Dor; combining the other two examples we have, they could appear as plasma-forms like the Scadrial Misty forms but made from something like Rosharan Flames.
  4. When you say a "Fully Trained Mistborn" are we talking era 1 with an active Atium economy but limited knowledge, or era 2 with knowledge and access to all 16 metals but no atium? Or a hypothetical both, with All 16 metals plus the godmetal? Time Bubbles would go a long way toward the Superspeed "Win" button of full-born, and Atium is a pretty great defence. But at the end of the day I think the only real path to victory for the Mistborn is to overwhelm the Radiant with a Duralumin attack and then Leech their Stormlight before they recovered, all while avoiding the shardblade. But if we went to 4th ideal, and Plate blocks Leeching altogether, the mistborn might only be able to pull off a stalemate or a clever surprise attack throat-slitting, or just avoid and wait out their leaky stormlight supply.
  5. To be fair, it can be very hard to tell under the Ookla Mask
  6. I do too. But I also know a lot of very cute and still very...slow children. I think my point is that I believe you are over-estimating how much gain's you'd be able to get cranking yourself back to the "undeveloped prefrontal cortex of an actual 2-7 year old child, which is the age it would take (assuming, of course, that all the competing studies claiming the increased learning is to environmental differences with adults and not their grey-matter are incorrect). I do think it's questionable how much of it would survive the Increasing Old Age time you'd need to spend to keep reaching back that far into your lifespan. Copperminds can help but Memory and Understanding are different things, and WOB says Copperminds cant hold skills or muscle memory or such things. We also have to question whether any of the gains would survive the realmic nature of the "Age" change, which already has an odd relationship to things like Health and Mental Speed that we typically associate with Age. It remains entirely possible changing your age would have Zero impact on your memory or your mental acuity precisely because those traits are affected by their own separate metals. The realmic question is very similar to the old debate of whether you could use F-Gold after your workouts to gain muscle mass faster. The (still unconfirmed, I believe) conclusion we came to was that you Cannot because Gold doesnt actually Increase your Biological Healing processes, and since it undoes the Damage and restores your body to how it previously was per your Spiritual Aspect, your body will not actually go through the damage & healing tissue cycles that build muscle over the course of an exercise regiment.
  7. My point is that time spent as a 60 yo will most likely increase your forgetfulness by roughly the same margin you gain by being a 10 yo (or rather a 2-7 yo age-range when that added mental plasticity is in play). So you gain a slight advantage in learning as a child, and then forget slightly more of it while you "rest" as a geriatric.
  8. "A Decent of Youth" can be stored via Compounding. Otherwise you'd have to spend an equal amount of time as an old (and likely forgetful) person, so you likely arent going to be able to gain much ground compared to juicing with Zinc through your classes in your initial schooling years.
  9. I think the most obvious two options would be a Fabrial to Manipulate Age or a Precognition Fabrial, mimicking the two known metallic arts affects. Id be curious to see if an Atium fabrial fueled by Stormlight would make atium style precognition or if it would act more like the Illumination/Rosharan Surge style "Stained-Glass Window" version we've seen.
  10. Interesting! OK, I have general thoughts coalescing into a theory that might be compatible. Let me know what you think. The Godmetal is kinda like the magic system in that it's a result of the Shard & Vessel being Invested in a given World, though Big-A might have been "Invested" in the whole Cosmere by Shard standards. But the godmetals form similarly to a shardpool, a bleed-through accumulation of Investiture, so Big-A would've needed to be Invested in some similarly Imbalancing way. Now, one of the very few things we know is that Adonalsium went out and created Roshar specifically and unnaturally (even the planetary motion wont last, per WOB), and we know it acts as a Pressure Relief system for Investiture (at least locally, maybe Cosmere wide once before it was all Shattered). On Roshar, Investiture takes the form of both Metals and Gems, and Gems are the only thing that cannot be Soulcast, sorta like how Metal is odd Scadrial. Also, Investiture can get Sentient if left alone too long. So, what if Adonalsium's Physical manifestation "Godmetal" was actual a Gem/Crystal instead? And what if they grew into the Aether's when neglected, motivating Big-A to build a giant planetary Pressure Relief system to prevent such things from spontaneously developing again?
  11. Aluminum doesnt block Realmic effects, otherwise you could not Soulcast things inside an aluminum box as we've seen done on-stage. So I dont think Bottling a Perpendicularity would destroy it, just cut it off in the Physical Realm. Separately, Elsecalling qualifies as creating a perpendicularity per WOB, meaning it does not strictly require massive amounts of Investiture. So, for example. I think it likely you could Awakening a Nightblood-style realmic transport Object (perhaps a large Mirror?) with an Aluminum Cover to turn it on and off the way Nightblood's Aluminum sheath is a leash for his Power in more than just the Physical Sense.
  12. It's active, but it's also has child/animal intelligence (at the sizes we've seen) so "accidents" could theoretically happen. Just ask any french fries left unattended near my dog. It would depend on the Commands used and probably your own general skills as a Lifeless handler, You could try, if you are confident in your Commands and your Lifeless Larkin's ability to differentiate they way you want them too. And if you arent standing too close to your actual target when you tell them too feed (I think it's sort of a cone are effect). Stormlight would be a whole different set of concerns, and far fewer because it's so abundant and none of the characters are being supported by ongoing investiture. Breaths are far more difficult to come by, and per WOB a Returned would be vulnerable to a Larkin's feeding. Heralds arent, apparently, likely for the same reason Larkin can drain a fabrial without destroying the Spren inside. I suspect the Larkin wouldnt drain the Divine Breath itself, ,rather they would instead be draining the Returned's Investiture, shortcutting them to the end-of-the-week feeding without any Investiture to feed it, and they "die" by their normal starvation mode.
  13. "Safe" for the awakener, not for his Breath stores. And not at all if they're a Returned, because a Larkin can munch that breath too. They are less invested for most magical purposes but the whole point is that they are pretty close to living soldiers in a Fight, and retain some of their skills and training. Given the whitespine is working on instinct rather than training, I think the gap is likely to be less in terms of fighting skill, and a living Whitespine will probably get freaked out by a zombie. On the other hand they can still bleed out their ichor to stop or attack joints and whatnot, so the animal's tactics would still be effective.
  14. No, they do not eat. But per WOB anything that significantly Invests a Lifeless would run the risk of making it "not a Lifeless anymore" which most likely means reawaken to sapience as some sort of Cognitive Shadow, so a Lifeless Larkin might not last. There's probably a practical limit to how big of a creature a single Breath can animate, since things like Physical Strength and Senses have quantifiable Investiture costs (even if we dont have the numbers). But then on roshar everything and everyone is a bit more saturated by Investure anyway thanks to the Storm, so that and some spren might supplement what they need. It would still be vulnerable to a Larkin or Leecher, regardless of size. Nah, those were separate developments in the Manywar srms race. Shashara made the 1-breath command which changed the lifeless solder economics and leaked it, then Yesteel made the Ichor Alcohol that made the Lifeless easier to make and last longer. Prior to this, a lifeless would need more and more breaths to keep it moving as it rotted.
  15. There is nothing particularly special about allomantic metals, so if they knew the correct alloys and could figure out how to use a Soulcaster (or bonded a spren) yes they could Soulcast nearly anything into metal. There's a catch with the Fabrial Soulcasters in that it might be pretty rare to find a Fabrial Soulcaster that can do any metal, given that the Azir are famous for having one capable of Bronze, specifically.
  16. Nope, you are absolutely right, thats definitely going to be on the Tension side of this coin. Don't know what I was thinking.
  17. The Spren in Half-shards is currently unknown, but if you take Taravangian at his word it's a Radiant Spren, implying that it's a Surge Fabrial. If it takes a Radiant Spren like a soulcaster, that tracks to make a Cohesion Fabrial. And if it's a lesser spren, then I strongly suspect the Cohesion Surge granted to Radiants could do the same thing to reinforce a given object. And it would theoretically let them mimic the Fused AND bring other folks along with them on a Stonewalk jaunt. It would be fun they could only take Squires with them for random attunement reasons. Cohesion considered is a cousin of Yolish Microkinesis which can directly manipulate both SUB-atomic particles and even the Spiritweb directly. Supposedly Honor placed strict limitations on Cohesion to make it less dangerous (presumably taking fission/fusion and Nukes off the table). But I think just moving atoms in a crystal and smoothing out misalignment should be within the theoretical capabilities of the Surge itself (if not the perceptive abilities of a mortal Radiant). So this might be outside the reach of a normal Radiant (maybe a Stoneward/Bondsmtih/Nightwatcher team-up?) but could be possible with Era4 Fabrial Tech.
  18. Half-Shards (in various shapes) Ground Liquefaction (ie. mud trap) Molecular Object creation (ie. FullMetal Radiant) Alchemy/Chemistry through molecular manipulation (might want Division to compliment). Crystalline structure manipulation (ie correct flaws to Create a Perfect Gem)
  19. Correct me if Im wrong, but didn't that version specifically Not Fool Wit, necessitating the memory shenanigans?
  20. We're not just talking tactical usefulness, we're talking paths that would make you Famous enough to come up in casual conversation, and I still think the era2's anti-Roothing/Rioting laws (and the prevalence of aluminum-lined hats) would make it unlikely to be a route to Fame or Notoriety. At best it would make you the secret sauce behind the success of a more famous performance Rioter (assuming that's a thing?), or a famous criminal. At the end of the day they will only ever be one half of a famous Duo. I didnt consider the Nicro/Seeker combination would pierce Copperclouds like with Hemalurgic doubling, that's a good one.
  21. The Spiritual Metals are still more or less teh Cutting Edge tech of the world, so it's not going to come up in casual conversation any more than the most recent news about batteries or rail guns or whatnot; worthy news report, but not usually worthy gossip. They might be a secret weapon in some cases, but probably arent getting famous. Frankly Leeching is far more useful and probably more prestigious to society, since it's the closest thing to metalborn immunity. That's impressive all on it's own and as a single person. Nicrosil, by contrast, is useless on it's own and only worth while if you have need the allomantic effect way above Flaring, and there arent all that many useful examples. Even then you arent going to get famous for making other people temporarily better at whatever it is they do. In era 2 they have a lot of laws regulating Emotional Allomancy so that's not going to be legal beyond entertainment. Of the physicals Tin's too dangerous, and the strength increase to Pewter is nice but not supremely impressive with Koloss running about at requires you to have another person touching you the whole time, and Steel/iron is probably the best use but for construction and heavy load moving (which may not be economical depending on the market cost of Nicrosil vs just a 2nd Coinshot/Lurcher adding strength. Nicrosil make the temporal difference of a time bubble bigger, but Pulsers are considered useless and Slider's already basically stop time so there's not much practical gain. So holding hands with a Nicroburst will only make a Pewtewrarm, Pulser, or Lurcher/Coinshot better, and really only the Lurcher/Coinshot will get a significant practical boost within era2 society.
  22. On the one hand, WOB says Hemalurgy cannot transfer the effects of Savantism, so it's likely that Forgery cannot impart it either. On the other hand, Forgery affects the whole Spiritweb instead of just a piece so perhaps it could include the Warping of the spiritweb that is Savantism. You'd probably need divine intervention or some sort of Fortune/precognition/Spiritual Realm hoodoo to be able to even hope to design such a Stamp, but as long as the savantism doesnt require the external Power as part of it (which is likely the case with Tin and several other Allomancy examples) then it might get there. For what it's worth, I dont consider this Min/Max'ing like it's a game, I see it as anticipating the eventual cosmere-wide Scientific Investiture Arms Race that I think will be inevitable in Era4 (or really Era 3 which is more contemporary to our Earth level science). So when I think of "What could Hemalurgy Plus Forgery Do together?" Im thinking of it in the context of a focused and funded worldhopper Manhattan Project type of development push (by the Ghostbloods or others). So I generally default to questions like What could they do with these systems if they had modern computers and whole Universities of scholars researching it, rather than teaching it (or more often figuring it out themselves) one-by-one like it's a secret Kung Fu art. That leads to like what could hemalurgy do if they found a way to map all the Bind Points of the Spiritweb in a non-destructive and/or morally acceptable way (perhaps using Lifeless), and turned it into a clinical, Surgical practice as part of their concept of the the Medical Profession? Then what happens when the unscrupulous put that knowledge to use in dramatic ways?
  23. I think that was a cover story for the kandra diverting Atium from the economy to their secret horde.
  24. if Scadrian guns are still late 1800's equivalent they're probably unsafe to use all on their own, by today's standards. Mildly higher O2 (not 100% or anything crazy) might change the powder characteristics, but that's only going to be bad if the gun and casings are riding the narrow line of Strength vs Weight/wall thickness, and I doubt their bullet manufacturing tolerances are that tight. But at worst you'd just need to bring/make bullets with a lighter powder load. That's on par with needing sub-sonic bullets for a silencer, in terms of bullet variant.

    Awakened Food

I dont think so eating the food constitutes destroying it pretty comprehensively, and when that happens the Breath Investiture generally returns to Endowment.
