Nightblood is already considered a 3rd Generation Honorblade. The biggest issue I see is that he's already fully present in the Physical World by virtue of being Awakened Physical Matter. He's doesnt do Nahel Bonds because he's has no need for Realmic Anchoring, and unlike Honorblades he's not a pure investiture creation like the Honorblades since he's Awakened Steel. I strongly suspect that his state is too far removed from Spren for them to mimic anything Useful. But The Surges are supposedly pretty fundamental to the Cosmere realmics and not just an invention of Honor or the spren. So if they did copy Nightblood, I think at best you'd get a different pairing of Surges from among the 30 that theoretically exists (assuming Roshar still has 3 Invested Shards to create their set of 10 Surges).

Well it was stated the Siblings version doesnt use Spren. The Fused recreation used enlightened spren of some kind, a Garnet, and a cage of unknown Metal(s). Realmically it has properties of Copperclouds in the sense of Cognitive interference and a AOE/ranged effect, but it also seems to have some low-level Leeching effect that prevents them from taking in the targeted Light and prevent them from using their Surges by that virtue. Or else it's effecting the Nahel Bond directly, which would be scary but not the first time (Bondsmiths can do it at least).

It might also depend on whether attributes face the same Identity Corruption they've mentioned as being a barrier to Compounding Powers via Hemalurgy.

A recent WOB implies that we've been misunderstanding what A-Pewter does this whole time, that it unlocks a Mind-Over-Matter state more like a Returned. If that's true then the H-Iron Spike might be stealing significantly more than just Strength, it could be stealing "Interaction with the Physical Realm", something closer to Stealing "Physical Traits", and being able to gain Nutrition from less nutritious Sources could fall into that category. It would be the Spike of Choice to steal things like a Horneater's ability to digest shells Iron. And I think that makes sense, since we knew that physical traits like a Gemheart could be stolen with Hemalurgy, and Iron is the only metal that would fit.

I found an odd bug in an old thread. The last post on the page has a WEOB quote inside a Spoiler tag, but when you expand the spoiler area it overlays the content in front of some of the footer elements and behind others. See picture attached. This is a weird one, not causing any serious problems but something is definitely out of whack. Here's the thread itself: https://www.17thshard.com/forums/topic/151425-relative-timing-of-the-secret-projects/

Having the steelpush scale to the user's base mass makes a lot of sense to me, given how many physical effects in the cosmere scale Subjectively to the user's base value (feruchemy, Gravitation Surge, Heartbeats for time measurement, etc). I Like it! For the math, I recall the basic pathway but I havent touched that level of math in a couple decades. The short Answer is Matrix Math to solve for the unknowns, (I think the method was called a Hessian Matrix?) but there's some factoring to be done before you could plug the terms in. Devil's advocate possible Complications: Much like the ever-problematic Weight Storing, it's possible we dont yet understand where the Magic-t-physics hand-off is happening. It's possible that what's being exerted is not a Force at all, but is only believed to be that in their current era. It could be secretly a Pressure that scales based on something obscured like how blunt the mental image of the misting actually is (something they might not realize until more scientific testing is done and compared). Or it could be a magical Displacement that mimics force opposition when two casters are applying conflicting Intents. Or it varies a lot and comes down to an Energy/Investiture exchange equation that we dont have yet, and the only thing conserved is Investiture itself (via governing Laws we dont know yet).

Who’s talking to Kaladin? / Who is the Wind discussion
Quantus replied to Lord Spirit's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Jumping in late, forgive me if this has been mentioned. But the latest chapter previews talk more about The Wind as a being in the epigraphs, and it's specifically given female pronouns. That should cut down on the list of possibilities somewhat (assuming The Wind does indeed have some other name we've seen before, unmade or otherwise). -
Agreed, though I think the jury is out on whether a 2nd person with functioning Identity would "contaminate" the pre-existing Investiture, or if the difference in Identity would simply force things to just use a separate piece of the metalmind Metal and essentially make a new/distinct metalmind attached to the original, storing the Investiture in a different "sector" of the metalminds rather that corrupting the whole thing (which might even get you into Red corruption effects.)

I'm an open book. Literally ask me almost anything and I will answer
Quantus replied to Existential's topic in AMAs
In a Battle-Royale scenario, Who Wins among the former or current users of One-for-All, and Why? (Noticed your profile pic) -
Anything related to those has to stay in the Wind and Truth dedicated Spoiler board for now. So you could compile them there and then add them to the Epigraph lists in the Coppermind once the Spoiler Embargo has passed.

Jack Black for Lopen (Random bankable comedian) Jenna Ortega for Lift (Just because they'd grab a random young actress) Harrison Ford for Teft. Robert Downey Jr for the big bad (Odium). (Given how far off source the casting was for some of the Borderlands characters recently what "Could Happen" is a pretty wide net... )

Pretty much, as best I can figure. It might have been able to steal Sazed's destiny as the Hero of Ages. It might be able to steal the Future that a person had seen via Flaring/Duralumin/Pure Atium. Or really anything revealed by a Spiritual Realm Fortune effect, including Renarin's visions. Taken to an extreme where it's not locked to just actual Future events, it might be able to steal your Past & Future Probability for the use of Forgery; as in you Steal another person's overall Destiny so that you can Forge yourself as easily as if you were that other person.

This should be very viable. Awaken a bunch of them to act like scorpion tails. Bullwhips would be very effective, striking with literally the speed of sound (technically). Awaked Bows of Wood and Bone should be able to significantly augment their range and power without requiring additional arm strength to Draw. Awakened mechanical Crossbows could be multi-fire and even fully automatic without needing to be manually reset/reloaded. Get a Bearskin cloak with the face, teeth, and claws intact and then awaken it as suit to go full skin-walker. Mistcloak.

Does Kinetic Investiture have Identity?
Quantus replied to JustQuestin2004's question in Cosmere Q&A
Interesting theory! Two questions to start: Is that compatible with the WOB that says it's possible to create medallions without Hemalurgy? The New Metal thing works with allomancy at least in part because it's being blasted by a lot of Investiture directly from a Shard (which is presumably a lot more Pure in terms of Identity, though the faces they made appear in TLM makes me think it's not totally absent). Tapping doesnt seem all that viable viable but would Storing pour enough Investiture to get the Compounding conversion? And would Burning the spike instead provide the same effect, since the hemalurgic pre-charge should be what defines the effect? -
Complicating matters, WOB says she was at the 4th Ideal by the end of WoR, since he swore his 3rd during that book.

Not really a spoiler but technically from Tress instead of a Mistborn novel: If that's true then it could makes sense for a Leecher's Destructive capabilities to extend to Absorbing&destroying the Investiture of any Luhel Bond itself (if they knew enough of Realmics to target it with the right Intent). I think a related and telling test case is whether an Aluminum Hemalurgic Spike that remove/prevents All Powers would block an Aether-based Luhel Bond. If they really are the same effect then that sort of measure should treat both of them the same way, and so Leeching should as well.

If you internalize the information you gain from experiencing the Gold Shadow's perspective, yes I think it could mess with any sort of long term predictive Sight like the Pattern. On the other hand, if the person uses that introspection to just reenforce their existing worldview, it might not cause enough ripple to make things any more uncertain. So it'll depend on the individual, and on how central they are to events. It should make it a lot easier to design a Soulstamp though. If you somehow managed to find a Forger on Scadrial, just as a random hypothetical example.

When Im reading just...words, like this thread, I do hear the sounds as I go and now that you/he pointed it out that does pretty much set the pace of my basic reading. But when Im reading a novel I fall into it more and my internal representation goes from audio to a full technicolor imagining of the events, and being able to hit that sort of immersion without constantly breaking it is the main bar I use for a good vs bad book. If I cant get to that point I'll most likely stop reading (and after high school Ive never had to trudge through that). But doing that I do sometimes get in a hurry and unintentionally skip lines (chasing dialogue and missing descriptive text, for example) and my mind just fills in the gaps. But Ive also sort of trained myself to be able to jump back and reread the lines I skip without really breaking my rhythm or immersion. Which sounds weird as I write it out, but that's always been my experience.

Im more worried about Mercy then Odium
Quantus replied to Acolyte of Radiance's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Thematically I think Mercy is the polar opposite of Honor, which is as problematic as Odium when stripped of the context of it's siblings. Per WOB, Honor is all about being Bound by Rules even when you dont have to be, and conceptually Mercy is really just choosing to cast those same Rules. It's choosing not to balance scales, choosing Not to enforce Laws, etc. And just like Honor there's a cultural sense of Nobility in that, but it can become very Problematic when taken too far and/or applied without restraint. -
If I had to guess based on googling phrases Ive heard and absolutely zero musical theory knowledge: Perhaps they are starting with a framework similar to the Cycle of Fifths to categorize the same 12 numeric tones in a more appealing (to vorinism) base-10 and/or 2x5 as they often do for their divine patterns.

I think "What if Kelsier kept the Preservation Shard?" In my mind it would have fallen out with Marsh holding Ruin and it getting very interesting as they relate to each other very much as Siblings, for better or worse.

If the goal is to leave the reader as confused as possible, I think we should sprinkle in any Prime versions that may become available.
-
If Im following the train of thought here, Yes it is confirmed that F-Steel will increase the base rate that you can Burn metals, just like a Speed Bubble will. So if the Goal is to Fill/Invest as Much Steel as possible in the shorted (outside/objective) time possible without Duralumin, then compounding F-Steel will let you do that.

I read it as a little more of a full Blood Replacement, changing all the fluids in her bloodstream (blood and poison) to the Soulcasting Essence standard universal donor since she couldnt be sure of the specific poison to target it. An instant Oil Change.
