  1. He didnt kill Taravangian, though, and never hand any intent to do so. He struck down Rayse, and as long as his Highspren knew the difference he'll fine by the oaths (at least until Dalinar notices the discrepancy and forces the issue). EDIT: Wildly misremembering that scene, it seems.
  2. I see it as being any (or all) of the following: As you say, maybe he just wasnt considering the Bulky upper limit of Feruchemical Strength in the moment. He's mentioned that Q&A's can move quickly and he doesnt always have the nuance in mind. We are Underestimating F-Pewter, and this is one of those cases where the known limit is the result of "default" magic and a lack of understanding (or rather an Assumption that becomes real). Meaning a skilled Ferring might be able to store Feruchemical Strength in a way that does not cause physical bulk changes. Storing Weight doesnt make you smaller and tapping Mental capacity doesnt add grey matter Megamind-style, maybe the muscle bulk comes along because users have always assume it should. We are misunderstanding how A-Pewter actually works and so misunderstanding what we'd be trying to Feruchemcially Store. Per This WOB, A-Pewter may actually be unlocking a Mind-Over-Matter state that more like the Returned's shapeshifting while it's active. Which would just put a whole weird spin on all the realmics of what's happening to a Petwerarm and what would be available to Store while they're Burning.
  3. Depends what you mean by Rip a Hole in the spiritweb. It can rewrite it to be something else including an Object (or Fire, etc) which is transforming functional pieces into object pieces more or less the way a Shardblade carves limbs off spiritually. As far as we know it cannot just Unravel the Spiritweb entirely at the level of Nightblood or even Shardbalde damage, but transforming a person into Fire like Jasnah gets you to the same end. That would be more in the realm of the mythical pre-shattering Microkinesis that allowed both Direct Spiritweb manipulation and subatomic/nuclear effects. But Soulcasting does have a lot of Potential, so all this is what we know they can do For Now. Technological developments might get them to a lot of weird places with the Surges.
  4. Devil's advocate statement for your Assumption #1: That could just mean that Voidbinding "Usually" comes from Sja-Anat and Enlightening Spren to grant the inverted Voidbinding Surges implied by the Chart So it might not be about associations between the Unmade and individual Surges.
  5. As a very general statement, I think both allomancy and feruchemy metals will prove to be more variable and more comprehensive than the Default effects that are understood in the early era's (this A-Pewter WOB, for example). So in that spirit I do believe that there will be more and more options for them to Store as their realmic understanding progresses, especially with the Spiritual Metals. But the known Fortune effects are weird, so its hard to say if they'd be able to go into that Metal, vs Tin for a Sensory effect or Nicrosil for the Power Itself? Or Both? Another possibility of Storing Fortune directly might be to Blank your Fortune completely, as in become a Blind Spot for outside Fortune-based effects the way having Futuresight will compound the options to obscure it (as with Renarin or an active Atium burner).
  6. That would be weird on so many levels, but probably no weirder than the reality-bending Weight-storing that we still cant really explain. I wonder if there'd be a use-case buried in there that could grant invisibility?
  7. Feruchemy can really only store internal things (with the possible exception of spiritual things like Connections) so I dont think they can store Light in any meaningful way since our eyes are really the only interaction we have with actual Light. But storing and tapping "Voice" might be viable, either manifesting as raw Volume or as increased Vocal Control (which paired with Tin for a good Ear could become very powerful in manipulating auditory resonance.
  8. The TSM example has many other special circumstances going on that I dont want to speculate, but we already know the state of that spren & Bond is uniquely abnormal. I think it would still qualify as a Nahel Bond since it would still be providing a realmic Anchor for the Spren to maintain their Sapience in the Physical Realm. The Lifelight metabolism probably wouldnt qualify as a Luhel Bond anymore than Lift's current Lifelight trick, since they arent trading Matter for Investiture to an Outside entity the way Aethers do, the human is more directly converting Matter to Investiture internally. Closer to Feruchemy than Allomancy, in that sense.
  9. Storing Grace, as a very Physically focused alloy-tangent of Fortune. Storing Skills, as in trained abilities, muscle memory, craft skills, etc which you cannot store in Copper (currently). Storing Organs, as in storing the spiritweb sDNA for specific physical organs, limbs etc, as a means of transferring anything from basic organs like a kidney (feruchemcial organ donation) to the transfer foreign parts whole like Gemhearts or the extra limbs of the Sho Dal. Storing would cause it to whither to nothing, Tapping would cause it to physically manifest like a Form Change. Storing is a difficult, extended process because of the sheer amount of Investiture involved.
  10. Breaths pretty much have to be capable of some level of "Connection Tricks" for Nalthian Worldhoppers to integrate and speak local languages. To my mind Storing Memories implies that the Investiture of a Breath can be tuned to very complex patters which should be able to mimic a whole lot of realmic effects within it's basic wheelhouse of Physical Investment and Spiritweb interaction. I think you could probably make a custom Breath Command to do basically anything that a Metalmind can Store (subject to basic Investiture Conservation for overt effects) from Breaths to Weight to Connections or the mysterious Fortune. You could probably Command a Breath to refill a metalmind directly (since they take on the identity, etc of their target easily enough), though it would be a wildly expensive way to do it. You might be able to do full-on Forgery with them, though without the vocabulary of a Selish Magic system you'd have to convey a lot more through the pure internal Visualization aspect of the Command.
  11. The Heightenings are continuous progressions that are simply considered to be more or less topped out when they hit those milestones. So even with that loss of those breaths he'd presumably still have some level of incomplete Perfect Color recognition which I believe he is using to read/interpret the greyscale change of the White Sand when he's using it as in Investiture measuring tool.
  12. At least 3rd, based on his Perfect Pitch and Color capabilities. By the sound of it he also has a whole bunch that are doing specific things (Memories, etc) so those may not be contributing to Heightening effects. His Immortality is from other, older sources.
  13. Yeah, the current story is that she was still too young for the Bond when she first tried it, and that is why loosing her Radiant hit her so hard. And the whole Testament Bonding a child is likely to reenforce the danger of a child on either side of the Bond. For the safety of both I suspect both Spren and Humans to severely discourage Child-Bonding.
  14. Setting aside the moral reservations that the Sibling expressed, the spren that are trapped and forcibly split have all been the non-sapient spren. WOB says that Sapience is directly tied to and tends to scale by Investiture. So if you split a Radiant Spren without supplementing it with more raw Investiture you are likely to have a stunted spren or even a non-sapient Lesser Spren. So you might start with an Honorspren and get to Windspren; or at best you might get a Baby Honorspren, that still needs time to reach maturity. It would probably be a lot safer to just ask the Stormfather and/or Cultivation to make more with the "Normal" process at their disposal.
  15. Fair enough. The Challenge ones I'm talking about are literally bred and formulated to hurt people, so I'd personally say folks who claim to love them as an actual snack are just as self-destructive as those who claim to love their chicken "with a little pink in the middle".
  16. Hehe, yeah, F = Might Legitimately Harm You, and Im drawing a blank on anything that would qualify but not be just some consequence of Raw, other than maybe one of those Ghost Pepper Challenge Jerky things.
  17. Just to add something at the other end of the extreme that I still do cook sometimes: Flash Frozen chicken breasts boiled in a pressure cooker (ie. the Instapot). It's not Raw, but it's otherwise Flavorless and really just gets done to be chopped, chilled, and added to salads or something later on. But it qualifies as cooked so it should clear the F category.
  18. If your concern is alcohol content, all the alcohol evaporates off while it's being cooked. But for the purposes of this chicken method I dont think the alcohol is actually doing anything mechanical (the way it does with bread baking or beer-batter, etc) so a non-alcoholic beer (or anything water-based, really) should work just fine. It's more about the internal steam/boil reservoir and generic aromatic flavors that you prefer. And to clarify, I dont like the taste of beer but I very much love how it blends with the chicken, it's a whole different thing flavor-wise.
  19. You literally cook a whole chicken on a grill, standing upright with an opened can of beer shoved up it's bum. All the flavor of your favorite beer batter but basted internally as the thing cooks. Beer can chicken Wire rack: https://www.amazon.com/Koohere-Chicken-Holder-Premium-Stainless/dp/B08RX6L4SM Recipe: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/214618/beer-can-chicken/ EDIT: Yes, exactly!
  20. Beer Can Grilled Chicken (S-tier, I promise you)
  21. Blanking your Identity should have no impact on you Connections, as I understand it.
  22. That would make sense. What I cant figure out is how it would be made Feruchemically, where you can either Blank an Attribute by Storing it all or Tap it, but doing both shouldn't work by our normal Understanding.
  23. Burning Lerasium straight up rewrites your Spiritweb per WOB, it's not necessarily about strengthening Allomancy. But yes, WOB does say if you alloyed Lerasium with another Shard's godmetal it could potentially grant you access to their Magic system (the example was Sand mastery from a hypothetical Bavadinium). As far as specifically Feruchemical Connection goes, the only actual example we have is the Medallions that granted language and those where storing "Blanked Connection" that connects to whatever is local....which is a whole other mystery, and I think we need to understand that basic mechanism before we can speculate too far on what advanced uses it might be capable of. Side Note: Im fully convinced that Allomancy is by definition just a Luhel Bond, which being a more specific Connection just like the Nahel Bond it might have more specific characteristics compared to the more generic Connections that grant Language etc.
  24. Connections in feruchemy are the bits that tie your Spiritweb to outside things, but it's fundamentally External (per the grid and all), whereas Forgery (and the more powerful Lerasium) can directly rewrite the Spiritweb itself which is much harder and rarer. Manipulating Connections is so common across the magic systems that it's just called "Connection Tricks" in TLM. I suspect fiddling with actual Spiritwebs is harder for the same reasons it's harder to affect metals Inside a person.
  25. The image I got from Skimmers was people that made themselves so light they could "Skim" across the surface of water like a king fu movie.
