  1. Conceptual ancestors, as they were later recicled into the kandra by Brandon.
  2. No. Your point was that shards can act in ways unaligned to their intents to bring them about. Harmony, did I just tell someone they were wrong about what was their point?
  3. Vashe can awaken his clothing to act as extra muscles, can't he? And his cloak can deflect blows. And imobilizing people is not that hard with a lot of Breaths.
  4. While I agree killing Sadeas was a bad idea, I just can't see how Shallan being a Radiant will motivate Adolin towards a dark turn. In the alethi society, men may be the leaders and warriors, but for someone who is Jasnah's cousin and who seemed to liked her to be unable to acept the idea of a woman who does not need to be protected is... ridiculous. And if Adolin becomes evil, it will be in a misguided quest to save those he loves, not because of losing Shallan.
  5. That is... Interesting. They would suffer no decay while inside, but she would have to remove them all before switching spikes, so her mistwraith self doens't absorve multiple spikes at once.
  6. You are assuming she was double spiked. It is only said it was one of the spikrs she had. That could mean she carries a bag full of spikes of different types or charges.
  7. Honestly, I liked Steris since the beggining of AoL, and for a time I shipped her and Wax. But now I think it would never work. And we have too much arranged marriages that by coincidence work in Brandon's writing.
  8. What more he could do depends on whatever Bloody Tan killing Lessie was part of his plan to bring Wax to Elendel. If yes, then he instead could have been honest to Wax and simply used a kandra or the earring to ask him for help. No matter how much Wax hates the city, he would have listened and most likely complied. If, however, the Bloody Tan incident was being influenced by whoever Trell is, then I suppose I could forgive Sazed.
  9. Actualy, Rashek gained allomancy after taking the Well's power, so he was even stronger than Elend.
  10. That is what I meant. Storing Duraluminum would make people care less about you, so it would make it easier to not be noticed among a crowd and to leave or enter a crowded place without being noticed. But it wouldn't instantly stop people chasing you or let you invade the Governor's Palace right in front of the guards.
  11. Because someone three hundred years after the fall of Radiants though they were exagerated. When we have a Lightweaver with powerful mnemonic abilities. Yeah.
  12. [acent=robot] FALSE FALSE FALSE. [/acent]
  13. The number if lighteyes is bigger then the number of nobles would be on a similar society in our world. There are enough lighteyes outside the elite that would make the inbreeding restricted to the upper crust of society, and even then it is show that non-alethi hair colors are more commom among the nobility than among darkeyes, so it is actualy common to marry foreign lighteyes to avoid inbreeding without resorting to lower elements So inbreeding must be as much of a problem as it was in the european nobility: existent, but not to the point of destroying the institution.
  14. Interesting... Well, funny thing is that as I read more spoilers from the Reckoners I fell more like stopping disliking it for no good reason and just reading the damnation thing.Someday. Books are expensive and I have many in my shelfs I still need to read
  15. You are confused. The reason there was a time limit is because there is an upper limit to how much compounding can add to the charge. Or, if you see compounding as multiplying the charge, how much the metal can be filled. I am still unsure wich is it.
  16. The thing is, that is not the intents applying to the shards themselves. That is the shards acting on their intents. Odium hates everyone else and wants people to hate one another. Ruin wants to... well, ruin. Autonomy could want to be autonomous itself, but it also wants to bring autonomy to others. And again I agree with someones cinclusions but not their exemples.
  17. Because I doubt a Desolation that was amped up as the worst of all times will have any chance of being stopped, or at least mitigated, by only ten Radiants. And the Windrunners were a numerous order, so it only makes sense that they, and not the Bondsmiths for exemple, will gain more numbers first.
  18. I look at this this way: if you are a guard told to not let anyone enter, you won't let someone enter just because you don't know them and don't feel anything for them. However, if you were friends with that person, and they tapped duraluminun, them you would feel like making an exception.
  19. Nice to know Brandon is making sure his characters are different even if they share psychological conditions. No one would confuse Shallan's brand of PTSD with Wax's, and no one would think Steris and Renarin behave the same way.
  20. That is pure especulation. It is only described as made of carapace.
  21. My biggest problem is that he resorts to manipulation rather than just flat out asking his agents for help. Especialy people like Wax & Wayne, who more likely than not would listen. Really, the whole second book wouldn't have happened if Harmony had Lessie reveal hersalf as a Kandra when Sazed though Wax was needed elsewhere.
  22. My only problem with Sazed's methods: He could have just told Wax he was needed elsewhere and reveled Lessie was a Kandra sent to protect him. I mean, what is the point of hidding his hand? Asking his agents for help strikes me as more "free willy" than manipulating him by making them. Especialy if it is someone like Wax, who would listen.
  23. He would have to have enough evidence to pierce it togheter first, and be smart enough to do it. I still like Rashek more. He is way deeper in my opinion.
  24. Maybe with your final point, but not with the exemple used. Ruin not being self-destructive had no bearing on that point.
