If there was a serious possibility one of my most trusted soldiers had been blessed by the Nightwatcher with the power to make shardbearers run away traumatized, I'd investigate it.

I know that. I just meant I don't know if it would be dangerous for him to get too far from Elantris, not having read the book yet.

Why Didn’t Renarin Reveal His Radiancy?
DreamEternal replied to ivoryblade's topic in Stormlight Archive
Again, you ignore I am saying that even if the if second oaths trigger the full screaming, the first may trigger something else, or a lesser version of then. I am not saying he heard the screams from the beggining, only that it seems like he felt more than mild discomfort. -
Why Didn’t Renarin Reveal His Radiancy?
DreamEternal replied to ivoryblade's topic in Stormlight Archive
No, I am not talking about actual seizures. I am talking about how it may feel for a first oath Radiant to touch a dead blade. Renarin didn't have seizures when the blade screamed at him, other characters just assumed so because he was almost paralysed.@Maxal: he didn't feel a mild disconfort. He winced. He also happened to be able to hold a screaming blade for a long time while Dalinar was instantly repulsed by it. -
Why Didn’t Renarin Reveal His Radiancy?
DreamEternal replied to ivoryblade's topic in Stormlight Archive
No, I meant something worse. Your exemple is closer to the mild disconfort Dalinar felt, except he probably dismissed the revulsion dince he was so used to shardblades. I believe what Renarin felt was more like a sudden pain in the arm, or whatever he feels when his epilepsy makes it convulse, except with no convulsions. -
Why Didn’t Renarin Reveal His Radiancy?
DreamEternal replied to ivoryblade's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'd say the bond already started to form when he first touched the blade, and he had spoken the first oath, since while Dalinar felt only mild disconfort with his new blade before solidifying his bond with the Stormfather, and after two oaths droped the blade in pain, Renarin was able to hide he was hearing screaming, yet winced when he first took the blade. So I think a first oath Knight may feel something quite unpleasant, but not as bad as the paralysing wails of the damned. -
Uh... The Reckoners series isn't part of the cosmere, and you seem to be confusing the dawnshards with the Shards of Adonalsium, they are not the same thing. And allomancy works in Roshar. Aons do not, but magic from Sel is an exception due to the peculiar state of its splintered shards. Worldhopping wouldn't kill shardplate if it is like shardblades. And while I don't know about Galladon, Vasher came to Roshar in part because he can feed his Divine Breath with Stormlight.

When you are the god of a world it may not even be an option to not take an "ends justifiy the means" approach sometimes, since you must be impartial and take the option that minimizes destruction at all times, even if you must cause suffering to do it. I still disagree with Sazed on some points, like picking agents he can't afford to share all information with, and trying to act in mysterious ways instead of taking a more open, transparent approach to the fact he is a god and is watching for Scadrial, but doens't want people to depend on him. But saying he is evil for not telling Wax everything is a slippery slope fallacy at best.

Plot twist: Dalinar becomes an herald, and expends the next books dying again and again and again in Braize.

Random Stuff VI The Return of the Admins

No, he is just a very large man with a very large smile that the narrator doens't trust at all. The scary characters in my story tend to have creepier manners than looks. -
Random Stuff VI The Return of the Admins
DreamEternal replied to Zathoth's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I wrote only 500 words today, and erased 300, but I have described a character as having a smile that could decapitate a bear, so at least I feel more confident in my ability to use evocative metaphors. -
While WoB confirmed it would be possible, he has not spoken about the especifics, only saying that speaking the oaths is not enough, and it is somewhat implied it would be an once in a century kind of event, considering how damaged the dead spren are. On Adolin, his shardblade, which he even speaks with as if he subcounciously knew it was a (half)living being, used to be an Edgedancer spren. The theory he may ressurect it is very popular.

See? The person who did the comic knows nothing about hemalurgy.

Yes. Too easy, I suppose.

Freaky critter, ain't that?EDIT: I have no idea why I wrote it that way. -
You got it mostly right about Boromir. Saruman was setting himself up as a new Sauron, however. Not that Boromir would do anything better if he took the ring.

Shifting shadows forever sublime, Faithful servants, in the cold of night. Forever, we ward Heavenward, we watch In shadows, we hatched Deep below, we guard And against our guarded In service, we ward In shadows, we guard From deep dead shadows, we watch.
-
Oh. Storms, you are probably right.

All shards would have an easier time interacting with spiked beings, due to them having big holes in their spiritwebs that are everything but protected. However, Ruin and Preservation are the makers of Scadrial, allowing them to directly touch their minds, and in Ruin's case as the maker of hemalurgy, control them.

I don't know, for some reason I don't want our creepy friend to be working with Trell. Having his own agenda and be willing to blatantly manipulate Wax is one thing, working for the enemy is another entirely. On Wayne, I think his newfound willingness to leave the past, and Rannete, behind, together with the fact he has been to a kandra ballroom, are clear indications he and MeLaan are getting closer.
-
But then Brandon would have to hide them in his beard.
-
So Wayne has friends among the kandra.
-
Yeah. Sylphrena will be corrutupted by an Unmade and Kaladin will get possessed by Odium. Then everyone will die 'cept him.

Fabrials are made from trapping non-sentient spren. I don't think it would be even possible to trap a greater spren without another method.
