  1. No, we know at least one of then, and possibly all, bond the Stormfather. The idea they have other spren is merely a popular supposition.
  2. For Shallan, one that fits from tge name onwards: My Dream's but a Drop of Fuel For My Nightmare, by Sonata Arctica.
  3. Besides the Hierocracy's supposed visions, nothing that I know of.
  4. I don't know about that. Red hair is show as the primary sign of Horneater and/or Veden descent and both of those peoples are generaly built very differently from the stereotypical alethi.
  5. I say what I want to. @Voidus: Well, good thing I replaced the spikes in my replica with [REDACTED] then.
  6. Uh, that description is off. I am quite sure their hair is described as actualy being the actual color of metalic gold, not simply blond, and no character comments on they being universaly lighteyed when talking about other ruling systems in the West.Plus, I don't remember anyone saying they had pale skin. The only explicitely pale peoples in Roshar I can remember are the Shin, Veden and Thaylen, not counting blue skinned folks and those I don't remember mentioned. And Iri is the northernmost nation in Roshar, which is in the South hemisphere.
  7. What makes you think I didn't give him one? Why, he just woke up and swore allegiance to me, you know.
  8. Please... just because I wish to preserve souls does not mean I do not dabble in other dark arts.
  9. They are the only ones in Roshar without epicanthic(sp?) folds, making their eyes look bigger by comparison. Plus, none of the Rosharan peoples have an exact paralel on earth so this exercise is pointless in my opinion.
  10. No, you are right. My post itself was unclear about what I meant. I edited it now.
  11. Not fully true. One could very reasonably think she died, yet returned to life once Kaladin returned to his oaths and risked himself in a desperate attempt to save Elhokar. The third oath was spoken when she was already restored, but the Stormfather was holding her back in the Cognitive Realm.
  12. It depends on what each culture sees as "prudish". They find female left hands scandalous, and do seem less inclined to open displays of strong emotion than other cultures in more formal gatherings.
  13. Almost everyone's ire, you mean. In this forum it is generaly considered bad form to downvote people, but I'd advice you to use some less... inconsiderate adjectives. Some of us here share similar psychological conditions with characters like Renarin and Kaladin, and most of us like at least one of those four characters.
  14. You seem to have great difficulty with the idea of other people not thinking in the same way as you do, if you think it is not perfectly natural to be gloomy when your homeland was ravaged by terribly unnatural forces. The mere fact he is carrying on despite it all and trying to find out how much survived is a sign of great strenght, and even though his perspective is bleak he still is lucid enough to continue his mission. I, for one, liked how this chapter was writen. I don't care for how depressed Kaladin is, the fact he does not give up is a big enough display of defiance for me. If he was not in the brink of despair, the disaster would lose its weight. It is the beggining of the Armaggedon we are talking about, and the good guys started to act years too late. EDIT: On another, mostly unrelated note, I agree Kaladin is likely to be a stormlight addict.
  15. Wait, who are you, when did you appear and how did you get that post-to-upvote ratio so fast?
  16. Its is already cracked. It just needs time to crumble completely.
  17. It also could have been the Truthwatchers if we accept the Hierocracy's visions as real, although there may be better candidates.
  18. Not exactly true, that WoB was especifically about minor shardworlds, not more invested places like Yolen and Roshar.
  19. Yes... That is exactly what I meant if you see my previous posts.
  20. It is not like he could choose something else. He grabed it by pure reflex when it would have killed him otherwise.
  21. Yes, but he wants to keep it for as long as reasonable. It is such a stretch that while he may be willing to face his new status, he wouldn't like to do it soonar than needed?
  22. True, if things go dangerous he will probably have to burst the disguise anyway, so why botter with a normal spear? Just extra weight.
  23. I think he meant darkeyes who gained shardblades are so rare most people would just assume that is what happens instead of thinking he is a Radiant.Poster above: Yes.
  24. With slave brands. Again, too many more uncomfortable questions. Plus, most would probably think he took it from an officer killed by the storm or the voidbringers, so he would become a desertor with nuclear launch codes instead of a normal desertor.Plus, just because he is gloomy does not mean he does not care. I don't get why you keep making that assumption.
  25. Because he left as soon as possible, and neither Dalinar nor the king may have the authority to give him full requisition rights. Not in Sadeas princedom. Plus, if he sees rampaging voidbringers threatening civilians and probably even soldiers he will summon his blade. Best to play safe at first.
