I believe that there is a recording of one of the readings in the Chicago signing audio provided by Volratho (sorry I'm not a tekkie so don't know how to single it out so here is the relevant thread). http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/52790-calamity-tour-chicago-naperville/page-3 But there is another reading that was different, in one of the Texas signings (in the Murder by Book, bookstore). Would love to hear that one.

Calamity Tour - Austin, TX, Feb 25, 2016
Kelek's Breath replied to Mark Lindberg's topic in Events and Signings
I skipped to about the end and caught a couple of questions. There are lots more to be transcribed though. -
I don't have the book in front of me, but I recall that in the Epilogue of WoR, Jasnah seems to have Elsecalled in a hurry, and looked like she was singed by fire or something. She even tells Hoid/Wit (he asked her why travel to that spot) and she says she was in a hurry. So i don't think she used a Shard Pool.

There are grottos in the Purelake, which Isshik says have some type of magic that protects them from the jealous Vun Makak hearing them pray to their true God Nu Ralik (so maybe one of these grottos is the shard pool).

I don't have the book handy, so can't get the exact wording of this, but there is a quote, possibly by Tanavast in a vision, that the Radiants were a way for humanity to recover and rebuild, to help preserve knowledge after/between the Desolations. So their primary function may have been that and a secondary function was fighting. Also, after Tanavast's death, there is a WoB that there are more honorspren around since the shard was splintered. So, there is more of a chance for someone to become a Radiant if all those spren come through. As an aside, Nalan is shown hunting 2 surgebinders with what would be catalogued as Cultivation spren. So maybe he is only concerned about half of the Radiant orders (doesn't explain why he hasn't hunted Jasnah or Shallan though)? Or just Edgedancers?

So does this confirm it then that it is the Lost Metal? You may want to post this in the Events Forum relevant Austin signing thread, so it can be corroborated by whoever is transcribing the audio for the exact wording by Brandon.

Oudeis, I just listened to the mystery audio, at 23:20 of 2nd file and his question sounds like, "was that Iya... in the BoM, Iyatil". And then he is asking about the Elantris timelines relative to Secret History.

Have an upvote for this. Make sure you post this in the Denver signing thread so the moderators can include this in the WOB archives.

Okay, I admit it; the Thrill confuses me.
Kelek's Breath replied to Quiver's topic in Stormlight Archive
I believe that it affects everyone. There are hints that Kaladin feels the beginnings of the Thrill is some of his POVs. There is also Taravangian remarking about the battle in Jah Keved being a lot more fearsome than he had expected because of the Thrill. And don't forget the mysterious remarks in Dalinar's first vision we see, where the one Radiant tells Dalinar that 'fighting, even fighting against the Ten Deaths, changes people' (quote not exact as i don't have the book in front of me), hinting that if left unchecked or not funnelled properly, this change may be a negative one. -
Nice one. Have an upvote. You may want to post this in the relevant Events post so that the moderators can save this in the Archives or Theoryland.

I would like to counter your thoughts to try to get your hopes back up on Odium. To me the above you stated aren't exactly true, otherwise he would have destroyed everything on Sel. There is still civilization in Sel, and it is flourishing, centuries after the Splintering/Shattering of the Shards there (who knows where they have gotten to in the time of the Stormlight Archive). There is something very specific going on with Desolations on Roshar, and it may have to do with Odium countering Cultivation's Intent, thus why he is trying to destroy everything alive, or at least making Roshar barren. What if Adonalsium's Odiuousness (hopefully this is a word) was to hate Itself or It's Godly powers, so that then Odium's Intent (which is stripped of the other Adonalsium Intents) is to hate the other Shards, and try to destroy them? Would this make him more interesting? And he may be doing all of the sneaky things you hoped he would be doing. But it's just that hatred is such a generic emotion that you just can't pin down if it's because of Odium. Think of the irrational hatred Dilaf had of Elantrians and everything not Fjordell. And the fact that he has been driving Roshar to continuous wars in the past centuries (as witnessed by the Kaladin when he flew with the storm, and by Dalinar's vision of what he thinks is the Recreance and Nohadon) means he has sown hatred into Roshar. Remember, we are seeing Odium as he is trying to counter 2 specific Shards on Roshar. I believe that to counter Cultivation he is causing the Desolations. I am sure he would use different methods in other worlds.

Those are the links, yes. One video (the shortest loses audio as Brandon is about to answer a question). An d another is really an intro by the bookstore and a speech. So only one video has Q&A.

I found these Cosmere relevant Q&As from the Seattle signing in a facebook post and I hope it's ok to post them (thanks goes to Shawn Speakman): Q. Is there any connection between Odium and Trell? A. Thhh.. Ummm.. YYeessss there is... some connection. Q. Why does Lift have to eat food instead of sucking stormlight? A. Lift is a really good/weird one. She visited the Old Magic, and asked something very strange, and the Old Magic didn't know how to treat that, and answered with something equally strange. You are going to eventually see what is happening with Lift, but suffice to say some really weird things are going on with Lift. Q. Can Allomancers burn metal in the Cosmere? A. Yes they can. Q.Is Dalinar's wife really dead? A. RAFO Q.Can you tell us anything about Perpendicularities? A.Nooooo. There were more questions but they are about writing and stuff. Anyone know what the Stormlight 3 reading was?

theory Voidbringers, the Knights Radiant, and Gavilar
Kelek's Breath replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Cosmere Discussion
While I agree with you that most of our assumptions are probably wrong about the Desolations, voidbringers and Odium, I have to disagree that the presence of Radiants per se is associated with the Desolations. Remember, from what we have seen in the books so far: Heralds---> Spren copy surges on their own--->Surgebinders--->Knights Radiants. So, if what the books show is correct, the 1st Desolation was fought by the Heralds and regular humans versus voidbringers, with Surgebinders/Radiants coming after. And, if the Listener/Parshendi songs are correct, the Listeners turned to Odium after the spren granted surges to humans.- 47 replies

Bands of mourning release party??
Kelek's Breath replied to Peng the Just's topic in Events and Signings
Thank you for putting up the recording. It's another reading from Stormlight 3. Great to hear for some of us that are not in North America. Did Brandon say if he will have a different reading in his next tour in February? -
Bands of Mourning Full Book Reactions [Bands Spoilers]
Kelek's Breath replied to Chaos's topic in Mistborn
Once I started the book, couldn't put it down. Most of what I felt and think about the book has been already said. Chalk me up on Moogle's "Trell=Dominion" bandwagon. Just doesn't seem like a shard called Autonomy would destroy/nuke an entire civilization on behalf of Odium or himself. -
Upvote just for the amount of time it took to compile the quote list. As to the theory I like it, but I'm kind of weak in Realmatics theory so can't comment on it.

Could the WoR description be a typo? Has Peter or Brandon said anything on the symbols?
-
good job on the questions and answers. Have an upvote. On another note, do you think you can draw for us the Ghostblood symbol, as the forum has been trying to figure it out for years (if Isaac and Brandon said it was ok of course).

That is a very good question. Have you added it to the London signing report, because I can't recall seeing this one before.

I recall Heb's wife saying "Three Gods Heb", but not mentioning God beyond. In which sequence did she mention that?
