  1. Ideals do partially exist in the cognitive realm. They're ideals based on human perception, though, not "true" ideals.
  2. Scadrial + Nalthis - 1. Allomancy + Feruchemy (And let's not forget the cookies) are already a very potent combination. 2. Breath is awesome. You can use it to power Allomancy, it gives you some nice all-around enhancements, like immortality, too. 3. Awakening your clothes to make yourself even more OP. Stronger, longer reach (rope fingers for the win), and you can Awaken a Mistcloak to do a variety of useful things. 4. You can be all glow-y and colour-distorty.
  3. Buy. - First of the Sun-ian (We need better terminology ) space stations will be shaped like giant bird cages.
  4. Someone should tell Brandon we need another 17th Shard Q&A so that the safety of his Rep can be preserved.
  5. It moves! - Boredom triumphs once again.
  6. Sell. You may have the third-highest Rep on the site, but you're not there yet. - Brandon will eventually write a scene where Wayne and Lopen meet.
  7. - Yeah. This is really the only reason TLR lost. He had Ruin whispering in his ear, making him feel invincible and to take his time killing her, and Vin had the power of Preservation to draw on. If TLR had ignored Ruin that fight would have had a very different ending...
  8. Zahel 12 Rysn 15 Never give up, never surrender!
  9. - True. I kinda forgot about those. Let's just attach a giant bird cage to his back and give him every Aviar possible.
  10. - Skinny guy with glasses. - That's why I'm seriously considering being Spook.
  11. - I think that this ability comes from Hoid's status as both Feruchemist and Allomancer, and that he can regrow it due to Feruchemical gold super healing. - (I didn't find the annotation saying TLR never got his head chopped off, can someone else find it?) - I think an Awakened Sword could probably tip the scales in either direction's favor. It's kinda hard to heal when you're vaporized.
  12. So, the title says it all. I'm trying to figure out what the most OP combination of abilities is! - Let's start with the Lord Ruler, since he's already very OP. - So, strongest Allomancer to ever exist, and Feruchemist. Pretty OP already. - Let's add SPIKES! Spike of human strength to augment him further, with another stability spike to balance it out. - Now that the Lord Ruler has reached the OP limit on Scadrial, let's give him some Breath. I think 50,000 or so should suffice! - Woohoo! He can now Awaken everything around him to fight for him! But wait, there's more, let's give him an AWAKENED SWORD TOO. THAT'S A GREAT IDEA. - Well, now we have a super-strong Feruchemist who's also the strongest Allomancer to ever exist, has enough Breath to reach the 10th Heightening, and wields an Awakened Sword! How much more OP can we make this guy? - Let's have him take a vacation on Sel! Thanks to some kind interference from the local Splinters, the Lord Ruler now has the enhanced physical capabilities of an Elantrian, and can draw Aons! And let's have him spend a few months at the Dakhor monastery, too. Yisssss. This is going perfectly. Oh, and let's train him in ChayShan fighting too! YIPEE! - So we have the previous, only now with super-strong bones, super enhanced strength, shininess, glowiness, the ability to shoot waves of disintegrating energy (Aon Daa skeet shooting, anyone?), teleport, cast illusions, and can enhance his combat even further with ChayShan forms! - But we can do more... My friends, it's time, for ROSHAR. - How much can we do here? How about giving him a suit of Shardplate? That's pretty nice, let's enhance his strength and invulnerability even more. And what's that? Let's have him bond all ten Honorblades? Why, that sounds like a fantastic idea! And while we're at it, let's just have him bond a Spren too, so he can hold all the Stormlight he needs. - So now... super-strong naturally, Feruchemist, super-strong Allomancer, immortality, ability to draw Aons, ability to teleport, ability to Awaken nearby objects, ability to fly, all the other Surges, ability to draw Aons (which, when combined with time bubbles, makes him able to draw them effectively instantly [have any of you actually looked at how complicated some are? JEEZ.]), and on top of that, he has an Awakened Sword with the command "Be Awesome." - I don't think we can get more OP, do you? - I make strange threads at one in the morning... I should sleep....
  13. "Say a spike was used to kill someone, but didn't pick up a Hemalurgic charge. Could you use Forging to convince the spike it HAD picked up a Hemalurgic charge, and make it a viable spike?" - Infinite powers, anyone? Only requiring the murder glorious sacrifice of a few victims volunteers. It probably wouldn't work, but it would be a big hack to be able to turn anything into a Hemalurgic spike.
  14. Zahel 18 Rysn 18 AND IT'S A TIED GAME, FOLKS!
  15. Made pixel art of our favourite role model villain, a Steel Inquisitor. This will turn into a .gif eventually. Yes. It's tiny. I'll resize it eventually.
  16. You know, if you're trying to lower/slow down your rep growth you should really stop making snarky/comical comments. You already got an additional eight points on the last one in this thread. - - In 174 A.D. Marcus Aurelias wrote Meditations. Satakarni expanded his Indian empire further north.
  17. My terrible speculation is that Nightblood will kill one the the new Knight Radiant's Spren.
  18. I'm really quite curious whether the events of Adventures are going to be mentioned in the modern trilogy at all... - I mean, Alloy of Law starts to deal with the possibility of an army of specially bred Allomancers being created. If this actually ends up happening I'd expect it to be a pretty major event in the history of Scadrial, and one that would continue to have an affect even after however many decades are between Adventures and the modern trilogy.
  19. Warbreaker is pretty high up there. The Way of Kings is pretty high, too. As is Words of Radiance. - Unreleased: Stones Unhallowed sounds pretty good, in an ominous way. NIGHTBLOOD also makes me very happy. - Other authors: Pawn of Prophecy, by David Eddings. When Darkness Falls by Mercedes Lackey The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordain. - I don't really have a list, but I like these book titles.
  20. After a few months here I understand why Peter's quotes are considered to be very "troll-y" in nature... - So we have: - Shallan (Definitely) Unknown - The open spot could be filled by: Hoid = Yolish Lightweaver Renarin = Truthwatcher possessing the Surge of Illumination As of yet unknown Lightweaver, either Truthwatcher or Lightweaver. Elhokar = Sees symbol-heads. Doubtful but possible.
  21. 1. Cosmere (I'm cheating) 2. Belgariad/Mallorean, by David Eddings. 3. Sword Series (I forget what its actual name is... It goes Sword-Born, Sword-Sworn, Sword-Breaker, etc. I just call them the Sword novels), by Jennifer Roberson 4. Wheel of Time 5. PJATO/Heroes of Olympus, by Rick Riordan - Honorable mentions: the Fablehaven and Beyonders series by Brandon Mull, Harry Potter, and the Obsidian Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey.
  22. Buy. If by flying you mean falling upwards. - A Dakhor Monk's bones could resist being cut by a Shardblade, for a short time.
  23. - So every book, so far. - - Better, we can cross Elantris and Emperor's Soul off the list. So that leaves us... Shadows for Silence, Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, or Warbreaker (wait, did Warbreaker take place before or after Hero of Ages?). - This is assuming it's not in an unpublished work... - Well, I was about to start a Cosmere reread anyways, I will start a list of ALL female characters (in addition to my other lists I'll be making), if we're assuming the Kandra is in a female body.
  24. Oh there are definitely some trolls/argumentative people on Factpile. I've learned to mostly ignore them, though, and focus on the people who are actually using sound reasoning in their arguments. - Most matches go fairly smoothly, without significant amounts of bad debating. That said, there are some fanboy/girls out there who really can't stand the idea of their favourite character losing, and end up dragging debates on for quite some time. My advice: Don't look at a match with Richard Rahl, Dante (Devil May Cry), or Warhammer 40K. Those matches tend to get pretty... Salty. - Another warning: There's no serious rules regarding language on Factpile, so some guys use it to emphasize points they want to make. - My name used to be Kaladin Stormblessed (original, eh?), but I've since changed it to KalaDellexe.
