The Ultimate SLC Comic Con Stalker Strategy Thread
Dellexe replied to Seonid's topic in Events and Signings
So we're looking for a female side character, possibly with only a single line of description. THE LEGEND OF THE GREAT HUNT BEGINS AGAIN. -
So I just listened to the song, "Let it go" and..

A childhood spent playing the Total War games, a couple years ago I played some Starcraft. - It also helps one of my favourite sites is Factpile, a debating site. I'm kinda used to doing this type of thing. - - One advantage that Kaladin has in this match though is that Elsa's ice magic travels fastest along surfaces and forms more slowly in mid air. She might not be able to construct a defensive barrier above her fast enough if he blitzes her from above. Then again, kingdom-wide magic. Range isn't really an issue for her, so as long as he doesn't surprise her she should be fine. - I can't really take credit for my breakdown of feats, though. Most of it I recalled from the Elsa VS Firelord Ozai match. I've actually never seen Frozen (besides a few clips on YouTube). -

Actually, if Elsa wanted to win she could probably kill Kaladin pretty easily, depending on how far away they were from each other at the start of the match. Yeah... Kaladin's kinda dead if they get into a serious fight. -
- Huh. That's something I'd never considered before, that there could be more than just Lightweaving on Yolen. I suppose it makes some sense that that would be the case. I mean, none of the other Shardworlds are limited to just a single manifestation of magic. I suppose a good question would be how many manifestations of magic appear on Yolen, but it might be RAFO'd.

That's what I'm thinking. Feruchemical gold only does one thing, and it appears to do it automatically. Stormlight can be used for a variety of things and appears to need to be directed (Kaladin needing to focus on healing his arm). Therefore, Stormlight healing requires a mostly intact brain in order to function, whereas Feruchemical gold works on its own without input.
-
The way I understand Gold Feruchemy is that it takes effect even if you don't have a working brain to tell it to work at the time.-TLR growing a new head (I couldn't find the annotation in Mistborn, it may exist, but I couldn't find it),-Miles getting a shotgun to the face,-and Miles eating three bullets to the head in quick succession. It'll work on it's own without needing a signal to direct it, maybe Stormlight does require that signal to direct the healing, and that is why a blow to the head will kill the Surgebinder before Stormlight Healing takes effect.

HERO OF AGES SEMI SPOILERS Also: "In Hero of Ages, when Vin decides to not meet Hoid, what would he have talked about had she talked to him?" -
- - - They're storing Mass, so I'd guess that they'd still store at the same rate regardless of how strongly their being pulled down. I could be wrong. - Interesting theory though. It'd make Feruchemy even more OP.

2) Could an awakened sentient object (e.g Nightblood ) bond a spren? A: technically but the specific circumstances you would need Would need are so bizarre, in practice no. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/14339-qs-and-as-from-the-london-signing/?hl=%2Bnightblood+%2Bbond+%2Bspren My question, if anyone is taking any, is "What is Nightblood's sheathe made out of?" - No. I'm definitely not obsessed about this. -
I thought he (TLR) was decapitated at one point? Checking Theoryland. EDIT: This is what makes me think that TLR was in fact decapitated at one point, in addition to the fact that I can't find anything on Theoryland saying he actually wasn't. http://theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=944 Number 6.

I've converted one of my friends and his brother. More will follow. - On a semi-related note, should I be Vasher or Spook for this Halloween?

I think he wants to know if the Shades on Threnody would find Awakeners "magically delicious" because of all their Breath. -
The Surge Regrowth and Kaladin's Various Powers
Dellexe replied to KasA97's topic in Stormlight Archive
RANDOM CRACK THEORY TIME! - - Syl is actually a very special type of Spren that has the ability to bestow all Surgebindings unto a human. She is an Honorspren-a very distinctive name. They are cousins to Windspren, which is why Kaladin received Windrunner powers first and most easily. Also, in an interview, Sanderson starts to say that Windspren give Windrunner powers, but quickly revises it to say that Honorspren give Windrunner powers. Which they would give, because they give all the Surgebindings. Kaladin also describes his healing of the Shardblade cut as pushing the Stormlight into his limb, which sounds similar to how he describes using the Surge of Adhesion, and pushing the Stormlight out of himself. - - CRACK THEORY OVER. RESUME YOUR FORUM BROWSING. - In all seriousness, more likely the Honorblade doesn't heal as well as a real Nahel bond, and that is why Szeth couldn't heal a Shardblade wound but Kaladin could. -
Haha. I can understand the confusion, I probably shouldn't have put in "like a Lifeless" in my question. - I putting forward these questions because Factpile.com is getting a Cosmere match in a couple weeks. The Cosmere VS Middle Earth. (No Shards/Valar/Illuvatar). It should be a fairly even match as their numbers/troop strength are comparable.
-
- I was asking more about Skeletals from Bloodsealing. I already know that, I'm curious if Skeletals are similar.
-
Is it possible to create a Skeletal (Bloodsealing Automaton, kinda like a Lifeless) out of bones Soulcast into rock or metal? - What is Nightblood's sheathe made out of? Aluminum? - Were any of the Mist-Snapped Allomancers Mistborn? - How many Dakhor monks were/are there? - How many Mistborn were around during the events of TFE? - - - I just thought I'd add a few questions..

Warbreaker, Mistborn, a lil' bit of WOR [SPOILERS]
Dellexe replied to Sloth's topic in Cosmere Discussion
A lot of our information comes from interviews, autographs, and just general questions people have asked Sanderson. You can find most of them on the database at Theoryland.com. - I recommend reading Alloy of Law. If you enjoyed Mistborn and enjoy Sanderson's writing in general, it's a pretty good read. It's also getting a sequel soon-ish, I think.- 10 replies

Warbreaker, Mistborn, a lil' bit of WOR [SPOILERS]
Dellexe replied to Sloth's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Welcome to the COSMERE! - I see you've discovered it in a remarkably similar way to how I discovered it! I too believed at first that Warbreaker and Way of Kings might take place on the same world/parallel worlds/something of that nature.- 10 replies

Actually Magneto would destroy TLR if he didn't get speedblitzed. "Oh, you are trying to fight me? It appears you wear metal jewelry and have metal in your stomach. Let's take care of that." *RIP* - Atium can't help against an attack like Magneto's. There's no dodging, no blocking, you can try to get away, but Magneto has affected metal on the other side of the planet before. Magneto is the ultimate Anti-Allomancer. - Except maybe Kylar Stern. Kylar Stern is pretty OP against Allomancers as well, if the current Vin VS. Kylar match on Factpile is anything to go by.

Let me revive this thread real quick. I'm adding more stuff to it and there's no point in making another thread. - Adding: (Theoretical)Max speed for Steel Twinborn. Tin Savant feats from Spook. Anybody want to help me calc a max speed for someone Compounding Steel and weighing 1000 pounds? Scanning WoA and HoA for Sazed using Feruchemical pewter. - I want some opinions on this-Vin describes her Allomantic strength as of the end of HoA as being equivilant to Duralumin strength Flares (if I recall correctly). The Lord Ruler's Allomantic strength is stronger than her burning Duralumin. Does anyone think this means that TLR can perform the same feats as Vin as of the end of HoA? I'm conflicted on this.

Just a quick thing I just thought of: - An option to "save" a thread as a "Favourite" thread. Not just following the thread, but having a "Favourite Threads" tab on your profile. I just think it would be kind of a nice option, and would supply a location to easily find threads you like/find interesting.

Maybe Hoid got Feruchemy from Ruin/Preservation in person? It's assumed he was around when the Shards were taken up, so maybe he got a little gift from his now-omni friends. - Warning: I like to speculate and propose random theories. I should really put this in my signature.

Can I revive my "Sometimes silver isn't silver" theory? - So we know via WoB that Aluminum has weird effects on most (if not all, I can't recall the WoB exactly) of the magic systems throughout the Cosmere. On Scadrial it's resistant to Allomancy, for example. - We also know that sometimes Sanderson calls things by names that don't actually correlate to what they would be called in real life. (See WoB about wine on Roshar. It isn't actually wine.) - Aluminum is silver-ish in colour. - This silver metal has a strange effect on Threnody's magic system. - Coincidence? I THINK NOT! - This is mostly just a crack-theory with a little bit of merit behind it. I like it, though.
-
Huh. Apparently me doing absolutely nothing gets a FLAWLESS VICTORY. - Sorry for my inactivity, guys. Things have been very chaotic lately and school just started today. I'm not going to sign up for the next game until I can be sure I can get on more often.
