  1. He can suppress his Divine Breath.
  2. Ok, so I did some searching on the forums, because our 3 MIA Heralds are not even mentioned in Pagerunner's Reddit database or Theoryland. And here's what I've learned so far. Battar: We are all fools. Argent: You are actually spot on. That's exactly what she says. Paliah: I found it. @Calderis & @Extesian Chana: Not a theory so much as a potential hint, there is no other mention of her on the forums that doesn't also refer to WoR. Navani on Jasnah: Other Fan Theories that I liked: One, Two.
  3. It's mentioned in the WoB he has in spoiler tags for length. Below the bolded bit. If you mean discussion on here, then i don't know You should check out Pagerunner's Reddit WoB database. I just did, and there are no entries containing any the following terms: "pali", "paliah", "palah", "pailiah", "chana", "chanaranach", "palanaeum", "battar", or "battah". "Jezrien" only has 4 entries.
  4. I realized that, but Chana's coppermind page has a citation for WoK, so I was searching for that first. And after reading that chapter, I have no clue. What that WoB means then, is that under the assumption that they are not mentioned by name, we have seen them. Meaning that we have seen 3 innocuous characters who are actually Chana, Paliah, and Battar in WoK. What's more is that they are all female, so the number of suspicious individuals is cut in half.
  5. Jezrien - WoK Prelude, Mentioned by Nalan in Lift interlude, mentioned by Taln in Taln's interlude in WoR Nalan - WoK and WoR Prologue, WoR Epilogue, Ym and Lift Interludes Chana - Mentioned in Hoid's story to Kaladin in chapter titled: "the man who chased the winds", Dalinar's thoughts in WoR chap 75 Vedel - "Vedeledev's golden keys" phrase in WoK chap 7, mentioned by Taln in Taln's interlude in WoR Paliah - Shalash - Baxil's Mistress in Baxil's interlude Battar - Mentioned by Navani in WoR chap 14 Kelek - WoK Prelude, Possibly with Nalan in both Prologues, mentioned by Taln in Taln's interlude in WoR Taln - Mentioned in WoK Prelude, "seen" in WoK Epilogue and Taln's Interlude in WoR Ishar - Mentioned by Jezrien in WoK Prelude, possibly with Nalan in both Prologues, mentioned by Taln in Taln's interlude in WoR Had to word search the books for Paliah and Battar, everything else was plain as day on the Coppermind. Edit: so this may break the rules of that WoB, but "Palah" is used in WoK. it's part of the date for chap 55's death rattle epigraph: Dated Palahevan, 1173, 73 seconds pre-death. Edit v2: Spelling and Grammar, along with Book 1 Italicizing.
  6. Makes sense, though that was never how I reached the conclusion. If we assumed that each viewpoint character was for each order(the one order per book theory), it was a toss-up between Eshonai and Shalash for Willshaper and Dustbringer, but Eshonai had more character development.
  7. Join the club. We're all like that with our precious theories Either it doesn't mention Dustbringer by name, or it isn't in Pagerunner's Reddit WoB database, I just checked. Theoryland has this, which is a kinda-sorta answer. No entries whatsoever containing the tags or words "dustbringer," "releaser," or "releasers." About 6 entries with the tag/word "Dustbringers," but the above is the only one of any note. Oh... It's in Events and Signings. Heck, it's your own post
  8. I don't remember them being regarded as cripples, but I do remember mention that the power was so strong and not diluted among non-metalborn that there were no mistings for the first couple generations. Coppermind has nothing besides what you remembered, but we've got a plethora of information that hasn't left Events and Signings and/or Reddit, so that's another grain of salt. It wouldn't be all that surprising to me if a 2nd/3rd century Soother had stronger power than a 10th century Mistborn, because the power weakened over time. Unless of course the "stronger" spikes used by ancient Koloss made them harder to control than the "weaker" spikes on Koloss near Kelsier's time, making it a team of period accurate Soothers . Hrmm.. that's another thing to ask Brandon about.
  9. Taravangian has something up his sleeve, and certainly seems to think he's got the advantage. Additionally, with the coming Desolation, the KR will have bigger issues to focus on, which could leave trainee/weakened KR and/or normal soldiers to face their human adversaries. All right, I'll bite. Why Dustbringer? I can certainly see him being a bigger character, like Highprince of Commerce or maybe even a Radiant, but I'm not sure about Dustbringer. I don't really want Moash to become a Radiant, because I can't really see it. He just doesn't seem like a radiant-esque character to me. I guess I'm also a little tired of redemption arcs in media. ... My reasons for disagreement here are actually kinda petty now that I think about it.
  10. Oathbringer Spoiler. (Regarding hacking/bypassing the use of a live Sprenblade) I think this entry implies a specific shard. Personally, I'd say no, as the Pits and the Well(what/where they were being produced) are no more. This doesn't mean that harmony can't make Atium/Lerasium, only that the things that produced them naturally are gone. Edit: @FiveLate I found the WoB. Along with another WoB that Preservation was "kind-of" splintering Ruin when he trapped him in the well and the pits. Now that's something to ask Brandon about in more detail.
  11. Well, I can make it indirectly tied to them breaking if you want an alternative. They know that they have to not be on Roshar in order for a Desolation to end. It follows that them being on Roshar causes one to start, and that they should know that too. Therefore, they want to keep both themselves and Odium away from Roshar. The torture goes to the point that they snap and worldhop to Roshar to escape it. Odium then lets the rest go because "reasons." In this line of reasoning, they go to/from Roshar and Braize basically in a street with no side-offs. A worldhopping tunnel so to speak, which could also help cope with the weirdness of them being cognitive shadows. The worldhopping tunnel would be a specific channel only accessible via death and rebirth, so that standard worldhopping is available to them(just in case Nalan's acquisition of a certain item doesn't happen where I think it did) It's a strange viewpoint where they aren't actually trapped by anything other than their own force of will to not let Odium get by them, but it's something beings of Honor would do. Taking a stand to protect others, enduring the pain so others don't have to, it's textbook honorable hero. It's also why they "had to go back" if they didn't die, as it would be a betrayal of what they stood for to abandon the others.
  12. Oh it's that WoB. Yea, no Dustbringer then. I was thinking there was one I was forgetting about, but it was just me misremembering what it said. Then it probably cropped up during my 2 year hiatus from the forums. Speed reading through things I missed doesn't give that same impression of avid theory like it does when it's being discussed.
  13. Keep in mind that in Taln's case, Odium decided to wait it out and let humanity get lazy. In the olden days, Desolations occurred much closer together. We don't actually know if a Desolation starts when one Herald breaks or if it's at least 50% of them(5 heralds). We don't know if he focused them one at a time or if he tortured all 10 at once(which could've divided his power and taken longer). He could be taking his sweet time reveling in the Herald's pain. He may have wanted to keep most of his power to himself in case he were directly attacked by Honor. He could have been distracted by building up his forces for the Desolation, or even delay the Heraldic breaking so that he could rebuild an army to attack with and not be stuck with tattered remnants of the last one. There are so many variables that Odium's ability to overpower a Herald with ease doesn't mean much in the way of certainties about the situation.
  14. I disagree, partly because I feel that the average Allomantic strength reduced more than that over the years, and partly because of specific wording(Nvm, WoB was about Duralumin, not Lerasium). It just doesn't feel right to me that two 10th century spikes could match Lerasium(slightly above a 1st century spike). Actually, using the WoB mentioned above and your interpretation of how strong 2 spikes are, the first Inquisitor to gain a Duralumin spike would be nearly at TLR levels in whatever powers they had, and that doesn't seem like something TLR would allow. Lerasium MB doing a Duralumin Soothing could match base TLR. If a double spike in 10th century could match a Lerasium MB, then a single spike in 4th or 5th century would be close to Lerasium by default, and adding Duralumin would nearly equate to Elend with Duralumin, which Brandon has said could match TLR. Given how much TLR hid from the world and his Inquisitors to keep his advantages, I don't think he would allow something that could challenge him. Edit b/c you replied first: The WoB said that some had long lives, some burnt out quickly. I agree about Kar being old, but they didn't automatically gain longevity by joining the Inquisition. In general they did, but not always.
  15. I'd have to look at the specific wording again, but if Adolin wasn't a proto-Dustbringer yet, then it wouldn't be a Dustbringer viewpoint any more than Kaladin's earliest flashbacks back in Hearthstone are Windrunner PoV. I think most people started focusing on Edgedancers when we learned that his blade was from one, so you could say this.
  16. All the Shards have a secondary Intent to create. Since it is the facet of Intent that all the Shards have in common, it seems reasonable that Adonalsium's overarching Intent was to create.
  17. Murder being evil is dependent on where the line for "the greater good" is drawn. Blackthorn Dalinar conquered to unite Alethkar, Kaladin tore through the Parshendi to save Dalinar. Adolin killed one person in a fight instigated by said person. As for Skybreakers, Maxal is right. That greater good I mentioned means nothing to them, only the law matters.
  18. I suppose that's a valid point, even though I feel that Honor's Shadow might be willing to allow it because he'd know what it is and what it meant. The Dawnshards might be lost, but an Honorblade has been recovered, and every advantage counts this time around. A third option is that Dalinar becomes the "stays at the Circle of Thrones in Urithiru" Bondsmith, much to my personal dismay, as I'd quite like him to stay in the field, even as a military strategist rather than a warrior. Still, a viewpoint exploring both his powers and Urithiru could prove interesting in a few books depending on what secrets remain there/Heralds return there, so it's not all bad
  19. There were 2 entries of note from the Warsaw/Krakow signings
  20. Exercise caution when referring to things that have "you'll find out later" as their answer. We know that Shallan may have reached that high point before and regressed. Due to this, we cannot actually say for sure if Lightweavers are a exception to the "3rd Oath Blade" Rule.
  21. So they do. Now it seems odd that the Coppermind doesn't mention this, as Shallan even comments that "It was a Thaylen name" upon hearing it.
  22. I included Barmest. Artmyrn isn't Thaylen. Coppermind lists his nationality as Kharbranthian. Edit: We do have Varsmeb now, from the Oathbringer Reading. He's another ship captain like Tozbek, and out for riches(which doesn't really go against my Thaylen is mercantile theory)
  23. I admit the similarity is a bit strange, but until we get another look at Thaylen culture, there is little we can say for certain. Given that Thaylen names disregard the normal vowel rules(Barmest and Yalb being the only names that feel like something you would run across on earth), perhaps "Mr" is a letter(phonetically or alphabetically) in Thaylen, like "Th" is in Alethi or "Ch" is in Spanish. When you start a word with a consonant, the number of valid letters to follow it drastically decrease, name or not.
  24. We know that it does? We don't actually know, at least as far as the Coppermind is concerned. However, on the assumption that Harakeke's glyph translation is accurate, then is almost certainly refers to Sadeas's princedom. By comparing the two (Sadeas) and (Sas) and ignoring the "d" in Sadeas, they are identical. And the only other "S" Highprince is Sebarial, whose glyphpair looks nothing like "Sas" at all. Additionally, the two glyphpairs that refer to Highprince districts are "sas morom" and "sas nahn." Given that "Sas" is the common factor between them, it should refer to the overall princedom. Considering that Sebarial's glyphpair is "Sebes Laial," I would imagine that his princedom glyph would be "Sebes," thus leaving "Sas" for Sadeas.
  25. Accurate description of how I find my old posts too. I'm surprised you missed it actually, since "Metalminds as 'full'" was visible in the post preview.(unless you're on mobile, in which case I don't know how much it shows you) This is a new one To both of you, I'm the one who brought it up in the other thread, so I may as well find it first. And I guess because I knew what to look for.
