What was the name of the religion the lord ruler started
The One Who Connects replied to Zape's topic in Mistborn
New generations come every hundred years. Although, the First Contract may be where the cutoff from the outside world started. If that were the case, then your "first few years" is probably still accurate. Which takes us to the argument of when his religion started. It has to be within the first two centuries, since that's our earliest reference to his suppression campaigns, but that's still a large timeframe that could preclude the Kandra knowing about it. We just don't have enough details to place when these things happened. -
Importance of Stormlight?
The One Who Connects replied to DalinarsThrill's topic in Stormlight Archive
Mind if I ask where this info comes from? (I remember that emeralds are used to soulcast food, making them the most important, but not necessarily anything about capacity) We do know a little: Biggest understatement I've heard in centuries. As for your Chasmfiend ideas, I'm not sure I buy into it. Theoretically, they should predate the Shards arrival, just as the Parshendi do. -
Remember that Nergaoul himself is red, while the other Unmade are all described as black(Ashertmarn - black heart. Re-Shephir - black tar. Yelig-Nar - black smoke. Sja-Anat - black shadow). Logically, the point of corruption is there, rather than in those he influences. However, those possessed by Yelig-Nar have red eyes, so the point of corruption should be there. Make assumptions regarding this "hint" we apparently got. I don't believe it's "recent." Credit to The Sovereign for pointing it out to me. This gem entry is from before the Recreance. Seems rather familiar to something we've seen, no?

What was the name of the religion the lord ruler started
The One Who Connects replied to Zape's topic in Mistborn
Oh the Terris. (his name is Rashek, with a "k", for future reference) I... suppose they could have had a name for TLR's Religion. The Kandra wouldn't have, since they weren't the most aware of the outside world. The remaining Terris people may have, but I don't think they did. I vaguely remember something about the Keepers disapproving of Sazed's fascination with the Steel Ministry as a religion. If I remember right, then the only one who would have spent the effort to name the religion something would have been Sazed, meaning it'd be in the Words of Founding. In said Words of Founding, he only calls it "the imperial religion, with its obligators." The obligators are part of the religion. The obligators are part of the Steel Ministry. Logically, the religion = the Steel Ministry, which appears to be backed up by WoB. The Kandra still had the Terris religion, but the remaining Terris people didn't know that, so they did lose their religion. -
Though they would probably know most of this stuff after enough gun practice, a Zinc compounder can only think faster. If they don't know how to account for wind/how to lead their shots/etc.., that extra time won't help. Can't do mental math if you don't know the formula, so to speak.

He didn't. Neither did Miles, technically. With the addition of the Miles entry, I'll explain. They both needed to store their attribute in order for them to tap it later, but since Compounding gives you ~10x attribute, you can store that without ever having to store the attribute from your own body. Take Yata's practical example. After doing step 1 once, Miles just repeated steps 2&3 over and over again, without ever having to store any of his "own" health after the first time. TLR was entirely capable of doing the same, but chose not to do so every now and then. Which was actually Ruin's fault(again). TLR spent time old in the room with items of his past. Staying old was him feeling a bit of who he really is in the presence of items of who he was.

Your Spiritweb is your Spiritual Component/Aspect. Wouldn't your Spiritual Aspect be your soul? As the one who posited something similar (spike recharging) in the Ultimate List, I'll mention that we don't actually know if that would work or not.

Lady Triss was an Era 1 Noblewoman. What "people" might you actually be talking about? -
Who Are The Most Powerful People/Beings In The Cosmere?

Counter-intuitively, the fact that he is not dead is the proof of Hemalurgy. -
Time Zones exist. A big advantage for a character like Susebron is that he the Ninth Heightening allow one to awaken things via voice commands. Meaning that unlike say.. a Windrunner, he can make use of things outside his reach, and that gives him an advantage in that his adversary doesn't always know what outside item he is making use of. (See Kelsier and the paperweight) Another advantage is his vast supply of breath. Susebron can theoretically awaken everything within the sound of his voice. He can have awakened objects swarming his opponent, distracting him and/or slowing him down. Ropes can trip and entangle, cloth can blind, etc... The biggest advantage Susebron has is surprise, since per WoB, TLR wouldn't recognize a Returned as a Returned. Combine that with the fact that TLR is overconfident, and Susebron might have an opening. Distractions can be handled with F-Zinc, which TLR has. Speed can be handled with F-Steel. A combination of the two can deal with awakened objects outside his range of vision(physical speed to move around, mental speed to comprehend), provided he knows to do that. F-Pewter and A-Pewter can handle most anything that does manage to entangle him, as well as give him the strength to deliver a killing blow(since i don't think TLR actually carries any weaponry). I don't believe TLR has Inquisitor level steelsight, so obscuring his sight with cloth might actually blind him, but humans in real life can remove things like that without too much difficulty, and Pewter strength can probably help against actively awakened cloth. Regarding Susebron's potential opening, there aren't that many things that can kill a gold compounder. And at that point, if Susebron fails, TLR lets loose. What does Susebron have that can kill the Lord Ruler?

What was the name of the religion the lord ruler started
The One Who Connects replied to Zape's topic in Mistborn
We don't know if it had a name, much less what that name may have been. When it's the only religion in existence, it doesn't need a name. When it's the only war going on, we just call it "the war." Or your local city hall. It's the only one in the city, so you can just say "city hall," rather than Austin City Hall(or some other city.) Conversely, Luthadel is only called Luthadel, rather than "the Capitol" because there aren't other nations to have capitols for comparison. These specific quantifiers aren't necessary, so we don't use them. They might still exist, or they might not.(Wars usually get named afterwards, for instance) -

Not a good idea. -
There's this: It's that final sentence that's making me think so, but I'm not sure what sort of hack would be required. Have this:

I'd probably consider it a little more inhumane than donating organs, since Hemalurgy is.. violent. But donating to science is probably alright in my opinion, and maybe in Harmony's opinion too. The real inhumane bit is that without Spook's book(or Kelsier/Marsh), they'd have to experiment to relearn bind points. Not a fan of Hemalurgic laboratories, and given how little progress the Inquisitors made over the previous millennia... they need that book

What was the name of the religion the lord ruler started
The One Who Connects replied to Zape's topic in Mistborn
He's trying to draw the distinction between "Lord" the title, and "Lord" the name. Since people only know him as the Lord Ruler, Lord may as well be his first name. It's a meaningless distinction, but that's par for the course on this site. Reread the quote. Conventical is the type of building. Conventical substitutes for Church in the sentence, not the religion. The religion name remains the same. Nonexistent in this case, since Seran is the location. Lockhart Baptist Church would become Lockhart Baptist Conventical. Church of Seran, Conventical of Seran. So @Belzedar, while his followup statement was incorrect, his logic was sound. Conventical would stand in for the word "Church," so it is less likely that the common people would know the latter term. -
Prevailing theory(at least, the one I support) is that they are tied to the Ten Essences(like everything else is). There's a Sword Stance tied to each Essence. There's a Herald, a gemstone, a KR Order, a body focus, etc.. tied to the essences, why not have the Ten Deaths be too? Midnight Essence, being of "smoke and oil," would probably be tied to the Essence of Vapor. Thunderclasts(if they are one of the Ten Deaths) would be tied to the Essence of Talus. And so on. Ooh, crackpot theory that has no basis: Marsh says there are only 9 Orders of Fused. Thunderclasts are technically "of the Fused." Assuming those are included in that count of 9, them plus Midnight Essence would be 10 Deaths.

Chromium is to other people what Aluminum is to yourself. Aluminum works on everything, everywhere in the Cosmere. It stands to reason that Chromium should too.

Is there another Shard on Roshar?
The One Who Connects replied to Jarod's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Why search for a potential fourth Shard when the third could work just fine? Odium's had his fingers in a lot of things over the millennia, and I highly doubt that Cultivation hasn't done the same.- 4 replies

Most of the magics can be hacked together. You can even put Stormlight into a Metalmind, but I don't see what any of this has to do with the post of mine that you quoted.

What was the name of the religion the lord ruler started
The One Who Connects replied to Zape's topic in Mistborn
Era 2 has the Words of Founding(which essentially equate to everything that was in Sazed's Metalminds). There was a lot of information that could have potentially define "church," especially since Sazed specialized in religion back when he was a Keeper. I don't think it's unreasonable that somebody reinstated the word church during that 340 year gap. Oh wait, you mean in Well of Ascension. Hrmm, they did do that didn't they? The chapter five annotations don't even mention it, so... we have a WoB: So in the end, I don't have a solid answer, but it probably all leads back to pre-TFE knowledge, courtesy of either Sazed or TLR. -

We know a lot of things about it. Per Sazed: Per Brandon: -
No.

Problem. If memory serves, the Words of Founding were given to Spook at the end of HoA. There physically isn't time for Harmony to have gathered information from any outside source: Kandra, Worldhopper, another Shard, or otherwise. It has to be memories and details gleaned from the essence of Ruin and Preservation. As for why he hasn't found out too much information, he's trying to figure out what the picture on the puzzle pieces is from only two pieces. You can't discern what the larger whole was from only a fraction of the pieces.
-
Survival is not the intent. It's barely even related to the Intent of that Shard.

Ruin and Honor. Preservation is wonderfully skilled in future-sight. Thanks to this WoB, I think future-sight works like this: The future is like a shattering window, big pieces fragmenting into smaller pieces the further you go. It's like this because of the sheer number of possibilities and variables. Imagine that each potential future is a piece of that broken glass. The better you are at future-sight, the further you can see before it devolves into endless tiny pieces of shattered futures. So Honor sees a million tiny fragments peering 5 years ahead, while Cultivation is still only seeing large chunks 250 years in. She's still gonna hit the million fragments point eventually, but Preservation was skilled enough to plan at least 2-4 millennia ahead. There will still be the odd small fragment early on because that's how glass breaks, but there will be less of them. And it's likely that one of these small futures got overlooked, which is why even the Shards can be surprised. Nope. Nahel Spren are a mixture of Honor and Cultivation. Assuming that Cultivation is in fact responsible for the Diagram, we don't even need Odium's word on this. You can either hand me a word that one could feasibly mistranslate into "assassinate" and still be a valid sentence, or you can accept that Cultivation was willing to kill off Dalinar as part of her plan. Oh and then there's this gem, which speaks for itself: This is a code that translates to "Hold the secret that broke the Knights Radiant. You may need it to destroy the new orders when they return."
