Well, the Shardblades that the KR had are of spren, and the Nahel Bond gives the info needed to debate these points of yours. KR bond Dawnsingers -> Dawnshards. Follow this line of logic with regards to "missing" If/When their KR died, they return to Spren form. Missing Spren would be somewhere that even Honor cannot find them. If their KR broke their oaths, they are trapped in Weapon form. Missing Weapons from the old days would be buried under centuries of crem or taken care of by people who understand their importance. I distrust any and all mysterious groups who could be harboring the Dawnshards on principle. I have little clue on where Spren could hide from both Honor(can't find them) and Odium(because main villain)

Movie/TV Stormlight Archive
The One Who Connects replied to Chewbarker's topic in Stormlight Archive
I like the general concept of this. Giving creators a flexible time-frame to work with is a great idea. I have a few ideas of my own that i would like to add though: If you have a 5-10 minute "episode," air it on TV with the following chapter's episode so it takes up at least 30 minutes (average young adult TV show episode) or perhaps an hour (most other TV shows). With commercials, they're usually only 22 and 44 minutes. It's purely so they take up enough space to be noticeable while perusing the channel guide For DVD/Netflix release, you could include the interludes as bonus episodes. Well... the Szeth(Eshonai) ones would probably have to be aired for Book 1(2). Like a Double Feature for the Season Finale/Premier, since they tie into the story directly. Just a couple of ideas, feel free to rip them up -
Have an Upvote. Far be it for me to argue with the Word of Brandon, but I just feel like a Savant would realize that they ran out of metals quicker than they used to. Upon second thoughts, that would only work on the quicker burning metals, and probably only in the more modern eras when science isn't suppressed.. hmm

Why does Nightblood drain investiture?
The One Who Connects replied to CosmereQuestioner's topic in Warbreaker
Per the Coppermind, they apparently aren't the same. They can mix, but that's because of how broad the type criteria is. Emphasis added. Type I is Returned and II is Lifeless, Type III was considered awakening anything else. Since the only example of Type IV is Nightblood, I imagine that Vasher/Shashara created that classification afterwards for Sentient Awakened Objects. -
I imagined it as something of an "airlock" type of thing. Like there's a no man's land, albeit a small one, serving as the borders between worlds within the Cognitive. Given Scadrial's Cognitive is mists and Roshar is spheres/beads, there would probably need to be something keeping them from mixing, although my knowledge of Cognitive Physics is sorely lacking..

Qs about Jasnah's last chapter
The One Who Connects replied to marianmi's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't remember anything implying there was a storm in the past. The Stormfather calling the Everstorm "a new thing" makes it seem like a storm didn't happen back then too. As for in the past, they may have done it willingly because science and discovery The Unmade (semi-implied to be their gods) may have forced them to. Unlucky during a Highstorm.. there's all manner of ways it could have happened before. -
Duralumin boosts abilities to great levels. It would give criminal Mistborn even more potent weapons against people. It would give his Inquisitors the strength to challenge him (same reason he didn't teach them nicrosil or chromium either). It also prevented Mistings of that type from being found, which gave Ruin's Inquisitors a disadvantage.

I'm sure Dalinar mentioned it during the Recreance version, but that's not what i meant. FWIW Alethkar has ~20 Blades and "a limited number of suits" Blade and Plate pages on the Coppermind On one hand, Shallan's art would only really cover where she has been. Only Sebarial's camp (maybe), Dalinar's camp, Adolin's 4v1 Duel and a few others had Shardbearers. On the other hand, Ben's sketches likely cover things related to the storyline itself. That mostly limits it to where the story has actually gone/will go.

Movie/TV Stormlight Archive
The One Who Connects replied to Chewbarker's topic in Stormlight Archive
By backstory, do you mean like the flashback sequences? I'm not sure there's enough in those to constitute what people nowadays consider a "season." However, getting a feel for the characters before the movie helps them seem easier to understand.. it could work, it might not (kinda ninja'd by Spool) Would the movies follow the story of the books, or specifically the "flashback character" from the preceding season? If it follows the main story, having those flashbacks already done could help with lesson the extensive length of the movies in concept.. I like that idea. How would you handle the Interlude sequences? I only ask because I-Szeth (WoK) and I-Eshonai (WoR) follow rather closely with the actual story and would really have to be built into the actual movie. -
I don't think that (at current) we have seen 30 different characters wearing plate. I say "seen" because Ben McSweeney might only have done sketches for the sets of Plate that have been shown on-screen. It reduces the workload for him, but still gives us a fair number to marvel at

Cultivationblades? Odiumblades?
The One Who Connects replied to Lord_of_Awesome's topic in Stormlight Archive
While this is true, they have magic systems now. This means that the peoples of Roshar already have access to their powers (maybe not as easily as Honor's), but they can. Also in the context of the champion's fight, R&P pushed their mist/dark-mist energy in to Elend and Marsh. Warning: Possible Memory Errors here On Scadrial, the metals draw power from Preservation, and then that power goes back to Preservation once it has been used. Assuming Odium has the Realmatic Knowledge to understand that, he could fuel his champion with (dark-stormlight ) so they wouldn't run out while battling. While you make a good point about the energy expended by creating an Honorblade, I just feel like Odium's champ would definitely need something just as powerful so that he/she can parry the Honorblade/Sprenblade. -
Our of genuine curiosity, why don't you think there's a 5th Ideal? Edit: I should probably respond to the original post too.. oops No argument about 1st and 2nd Ideal. I think (but don't remember for sure) that Brandon/somebody has said that each Ideal boosts the effectiveness of the Stormlight holding, and by extension their Surgebinding. 3rd Ideal granting Squires.. Yea pretty much. However, that isn't limited to Windrunners. Brandon has said that they are unique in how many and how strong they are, but he has said that other orders had Squires too. 4th Ideal: I am not debating the origin of Shardplate (that's for another thread), but I always kinda imagined that Shardplate would be 5th Ideal. It's my opinion against yours, so whatever 5th Ideal: However, if we assume that Plate is 4th... something good, something noticeable has to mark officially becoming a member of the Knights Radiant. I like Shard-Diploma

Yeah, the Mistfallen. That 16th were sick a lot longer, via Preservation making a sign. 1/16, 16 metals, 16 this, 16 that, divine signs, etc.. So you mostly remembered right
-
I think Brandon said that he "reduced the threshold," but that they still have to snap in some way (probably a function of the magic itself)

It's an impressive first post, so have an upvote for that. I never really questioned Vessel beyond how the priests used it: The vessel to carry the God King's child. It.. could be what you imply, but I don't see a Shard changing hands without being killed. You kinda lost me here. Are you saying Returned can have kids if they marry someone from the Idrian Royal Family? Susebron is kind of a special case regarding Divine Breath usage, as he has his tongue back. The previous God Kings mentally transferred their breaths to the next one through some unknown process. (Breath to a stillborn while in the womb, but I've no idea how that works) Edit Note: I still say this because "Return in the Womb" came from Brandon, and not the priests. I don't feel like the priests would know about Endowment, mostly because I don't think that Vasher does. My opinion of course. Although... the Terris knew about Ruin and Preservation.. so they might I don't actually know if one can transfer their Divine Breath without it being used.. that's another thing to ask Brandon One the note of asking Brandon, I wonder if Endowment appears before everyone in the Cognitive like Preservation did, or if she only goes to those she offers to Return.. Overall, its decently well thought out. It's hard to debate assumptions though, so I can't say much beyond what I already have

More than regular people, but IIRC nothing more specific. One of the parshmen topics (breeding/new parshmen from/something..) has a decent argument over why that is. Raising them and all that until they can be sold
-
It probably has to be a spoken oath like the others, but given that their "truths" are all about self-realization, it might be enough for them to have mentally accepted the truth. Depends on how liberally/strictly Pattern defines her speaking of truths.

It's asking for any info on the subject and, failing that, our opinions. Somebody brought up Fabrial spaceship in one of the FTL threads or The Ones Above. The transportation surge came up, and I suggested using gravitation lashings to speed up the long trek through the cognitive. And then apparently this thread happened Also we have "seen" Soulcasting and Elsecalling. Granted, Jasnah has both of those surges so... who knows
-
Yea that's the one. Guess I misremembered it

I believe that at some point Brandon said that the body is in the Spiritual Realm. I only slightly remember the context of the question: something about where Sazed's body is now. I shall search for this in the meantime
-
On that same subject, the Ire felt fairly safe from Ruin in their fortress, so they believe some form of limit exists
-
This is true, although I can imagine one possibility that almost works with several facts that we know. I imagine the people at Feverstone Keep were more occupied with fighting over the blades than where the former Radiants were going, at least for a while. The ones that faked the broken bond could hide behind some hill or broken building nearby (since the blade would despawn if the Radiant got too far away, do you imagine that the glow would fade as the distance increases too?) That could solve one issue. As for getting the blades back, that could also work assuming the spren have enough control while in bladeform. I fully expect several officers or former thieves attempting to grab as many as they could take and try and escape with them. Someone would see them doing that and attack them, and (since you can't fight and carry extra giant swords) the living sprenblades could "disappear" and no one would know the difference. Something that I realized is that such a thing could account for (or at least help with) the large disparity in old and current blade count that Dalinar noticed. Note: this is another one of my "designed 2 minutes earlier" theories, so it's definitely reaching at times.

Had to search Theoryland for a similar topic a while back, so here's relevant information about the Heralds Origins:
-
Do you mind if I ask for a little expansion of your point? I see you asking if the Heralds are Roshar's version of Returned. Have I got that right or am I misreading stuff again today?
