  1. Uh. Whole bunch of them: LG17, QF40a/b, MR51. LG17 is the closest mech-wise. I understand TJ is considering being insane and also running a LG right after the first, and he's top of the list but you should probably still submit rules either way to get the pre-approval done and be ready to run. Actually you have three LG slots Given the decimated state of the LG list, I wouldn't worry too much about running out right now. Added.
  2. Ash is getting his MR up next, but we should probably activate the LG list anyway. Exp has mentioned he'll be out of commission for at least a month, so we're on: 1. @|TJ| (probably not if he's already running his WoT) 2. @The Unknown Flame (hi ) 3. @Steeldancer (admittedly just GMed something) 4. @xinoehp512 5. @The Wandering Wizard Could you all start to maybe look at your schedules and consider if you'd be in a position to run the next LG soon? If so, please start putting together your ruleset for pre-submission so we don't last minute this. This is definitely advanced warning, but we're trying to do this earlier, so. If for some reason we cannot get people in this bracket of five, we're down to @Ashbringer (currently running the MR so...), @Elandera, and @Aeoryi.
  3. See, I can respect putting a bro before RNGesus. But man, I'm tellin' ya, ignoring RNGesus is where it starts to go wrong. Like Alv always says, ya just don't mess with the gods of luck and chance man. If RNGesus says to do it and you don't, there's trouble. Me, having chosen to ignore RNGesus asking me to murder E!Stick
  4. Hope this worked out! Oh damn, this is a really nice colour and reminds me of Troublemaker's...I want to say Kelp Tea, maybe? Just such a nice brown tint/subdued green. Always feels a bit sad that Birmingham shipping to SEA is basically nuts so I've not really sampled their inks, but hey, Taiwanese market (self-consolation )
  5. RIP, glad you managed to get back in! Do you get yours from Taobao/AliExpress?
  6. Thanks Slowswift and Cyclops! The market where I am is weird so I'm never 100% sure of the NA options Adding a little, friend says that there's a paper brand called Caliber sold by CVS Pharmacies. When he schlepped down last year, it was 150 sheets for USD$4.49. May come in a notepad or loose sheet format. If you're really hardpressed, you might want to try some of the recommendations in this thread. Of these, I'll only warn that Muji's bleedproof paper can be of inconsistent quality - I've had good pads that can take a wet Troublemaker Ink in a Pelikan Broad nib and some which...yeaaaah.
  7. @Cyclops? @Slowswift? Either of you know good NA-side value-for-money recs for paper? I'll ask a local pen friend who heads down to the US pretty often for work. I know he keeps finding the damnedest high performing budget options. I know everyone swears by more exotic options but I'm also of the view that especially if you're starting out, you shouldn't be needing to break the bank for paper.
  8. Not sure you need to get into pens then, you're already in! Any types of inks you particularly like/have been using? No paper issues?
  9. What's the nib size, what are you using it with? How's your user experience so far?
  10. Welcome! Love the fun username Which three Sanderson characters would you most want to be stranded on a desert island with?
  11. Yeah, LotR is one of my all-time great comfort reads. Trying to keep this one short because I don't want to derail thread - depends on what you like in a book, doesn't necessarily translate well. If it doesn't pick up for you by Book 3, I'd say drop it because the middle is especially sloggy and you don't need to force yourself to go through 10+ books to confirm if you like/hate it. (I'd suggest Book 4 as the cut-off but IMO that's a bit too much a time investment, though YMMV.) An alternative is to skip the others and just do/try New Spring, as it's a self-contained prequel (nothing in it should be surprising to you given you're on Book 2) and IMO better-paced/potentially a bit more interesting than the early WoT books.
  12. No, it's just the RP setting, but there are players (e.g. Stick, who just signed up) who are setting agnostic. Do you RP/like RPing? If you don't, dwai - people will ignore it. If you like RPing, don't worry too hard about being faithful to the setting. I know the period TJ intends to set this game during but by and large, it is quasi-canonical at best, so it's not like we need to be too setting-faithful anyway. I think we're mostly just happy to RP together regardless So def. don't worry about not being included RP-wise. Basically as long as you have fun, that's good in everyone's book
  13. Welcome to the Shard! Slaughterhouse-Five is such a good choice, and Horus Heresy is a fun set of arcs IMO.
  14. ! Eärendil and Elwing! Welcome to the Shard! That's amazing Kaladin and Adolin art, hope you enjoy your time here!
  15. Welcome to the Shard! 100% can relate to this My younger self hard-bounced off LotR at first until I made my way through the Hobbit and wanted to follow Bilbo more.
  16. Welcome aboard! I actually really like the Red Ajah though I know it's a weird choice. I picked White as a bit of a homage to this person who wrote some pretty great WoT fanfic back in the day when FFN was still the place for fic and was actually useable.
