mafia championship A Knock from Outside the Cosmere
Kasimir replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Thanks but I'm not brave enough for MU (Also still dealing with dad health stuff, that and a RL clusterchull been keeping me busy tbh.) I'd back Divergent and Hoid. If anyone hasn't nominated @|TJ| I'll add him too.- 636 replies

Anniversary Game 12: TYRIAN FALLING, Aftermath

@Hoid Slayer & @CoderDrag0n8 - Gonna say keep it short if you can because banners have to legally be small lol. -
Anniversary Game 12: TYRIAN FALLING, Aftermath
Kasimir replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
If you have randed Salmon Meerkat before, or Mauve Crocodile, you will understand. If you haven't, hope you rand them someday - I'm not going to spoil the surprise (Drake will probably know this because we were the Meerkat and the Crocodile that started this.) Edited to add: Actually does anyone have any suggestions for stuff? Am thinking of making a small variant of the existing banners commemorating this game. Minimally I'd want something for the rollover (exe) crew but I think there's a lot of possibilities! -
Anniversary Game 12: TYRIAN FALLING, Aftermath

Yeah basically I've been down this road before, you can't fool me I learned my lesson from the Tyrian Eight, damnit! I like the Tyrian Falls Village setting as a classic, acknowledge we see it more often now, don't know I have as strong an opinion because I really don't have the energy to RP as much as I'd like to these days. If I could, I would've done the Zense stuff I pitched in that sign-up PM but just really couldn't do it in the end despite dropping 42069 GUNTHER promo references. Fortunately for our collective sanities, TJ never called me out on RPing a heel Yeah I did want to thank both of you again for that kayana-arse distro because ngl I really have hit a certain - grind to the way I play games where almost everything is something I've seen before, it's just how different, and that distro genuinely shocked me out of my complacency and excited me into giving way more time than I'd intended to trying to crack it but I love it. I think the last time I had that kind of moment was for a distro not on this forum. AG8 is the other one that stands out here because lolSpikedcoinshot. Like you can't ever go back, and you're not the same person you were, but for just those moments staring at the distro, it felt like playing AG1 or AG2 again, that kind of Kas, unburdened by experience or memory, just going "holy kark wtf" and it's a nice glimpse to have of that mental state. Despite the fact I died super early in AG1 and AG2 and technically therefore neither can really be true of me but still, memories are weird I guess. -
Anniversary Game 12: TYRIAN FALLING, Aftermath

Logged in to see 10 notifs, wtaf Have we even played together before? The GMs said to not reveal until after the game. I decided for once (1) in my SE life I would take that seriously. It just so happened I had absolutely zero bandwidth to hide until after the game (RE: your mention of papers) because a paper/report tasking came in outta nowhere and was urgent and then three more slipped into my inbox which is why I was working this game sleep-deprived for most of the week+ and with zero energy to hide so just said whatever we ball. ...I now know way more than I want to about Grok and the TON blockchain. Honestly I thought Gecko was you, RIP I also just legit did not remember the difference between your V! and E! play so it wouldn't have done anything (and my general resolution this game was to play about 95% off raw vote/post analysis because I had no time/energy (yes a theme I know) to go figure who was who. Tbh I would not have minded if we were Elims together - we've never ticked off that dance card - but the thought has also crossed my mind this is actually a good game to retire to, we'll never really reach this kind of heights again. I did figure you were probably out there somewhere, I just also had zero energy for anything (so in that light, thank God I didn't rand Elim.) Agreed, your identity was actually the one I was the most curious about because I felt we had good Village-sided chemistry and I kept trying to think about players I had that history with and coming up short. Thanks, it was definitely fun! Also thanks for saving me from MLing @|TJ|, we've not been very good bros lately, though I got on the v!Rhino train after he helped us kill Meerkat. Oh my God he's old now Both ends I think. If you're too meta-savvy you know Tyrian AGs always have a ML trap. It's why I was so desperate to just flip in <Cham, Lion> and kept refusing on most days to push in the CSes or Lurchers - I kept theorising there's something we're not actually seeing and the 2 v!CS + 4 v!L puzzle was a distraction. (Plus, spanreed - I have a healthy respect for Elims just not claiming or lying about their role since I did that a couple of times to let the Village get some free MLs in.) Good job btw, really loved the gimmick and was ridiculously excited once I realised you were doing a Bumblebee. Was a bad week of deadlines And my GOAT was wrestling in Düsseldorf ain't no way I was gonna miss that man. Sorry, was doing my job I did chuckle when you said the wrestling memes were too blatant though. True, but I've been using them a lot lately and I'll always spread Ringgeneral love Actual @DrakeMarshall violence You're welcome lol. I've seen too many ML traps in Tyrian AGs to immediately go for it. My D2 and potential D3 ??? on you were mostly sleep-deprivation-induced: I had no more energy left to fight the Village on you and went "whatever" but the moment Ig was back on the table I was like "screwit lesgo I've been praying for this" I'm not the easiest guy to threadwar*, this is true, but you are correct that this calculus gave you some v!credit from Beagle, and I think it won you a bit of extra time before I went to reconsider your slot, particularly because I was worried I was being unfair to you, so in general I'm not sure it was a bad approach. Like in a way... Hahaha maybe I'll regret saying this but... I mean, if you can take me out of the equation, even if you can't get me exed, it's still a win right? And if you pushed me into doubting my reads or at least wanting to give you space because I'm not sure I'm right about you, that's still a win because I'm ceding the thread or at least ceding a couple of reads/defenses which creates room for MLing. Sure I was tired on D2 which also influenced my decision to shrug-vote Ocho, but I am also not sure that happens without my looking at our clash and going "yeah, you know what, give it a break." Sometimes the war to win isn't necessarily overall in the thread but in the mind of the person you're pushing. *I've technically threadwarred decaffeinated Aman, decaf Orlok, Fifth, and Archer, so I would probably say 'not the easiest' is the best way to put it. Thanks to @A Jo in the Bush and @The Unknown Medallion for GMing - fun game to play. Still not sure if I'm fully done with SE and in general mafia games at this point, but it's nice to play one more Tyrian AG and if I do retire after this, it's a good game to have gone out on. Shout-out to the Elims for doing an excellent job, respect for that Shout-out to the Rollover Exe Crew ( @Divergent, @Archer, @Hoid Slayer, @|TJ|, honorary in @DrakeMarshall and @Aeternum) since we've apparently been carrying the exe on our backs (j/k but the team chemistry was actually quite insane, loved the engagement and discussion and compulsive puzzle-solving, as was how we somehow managed to keep on lucking our way into the correct decisions at the very end, if only Dive, TJ, and myself were probably more gung-ho about calling an airstrike on Fura rather than going "er...no." ) -
Legit funny given how much I was just chilling and with most of my brain on wrestling ty and dwai mate you played well and i wasn't really focusing this game either. my spelling and grammar continued to improve as i got more back into the game anyway sorry for the late got hit right by stomach flu after that and also tired af and recovering. Congrats to the Elims! If someone pinged and I didn't reply sorry about that, still tired as all hell, don't catch repeated sick in a row it messes with your energy levels.

It's the line that allows people to identify one of the three men Ishikk meets at the Purelake as Gallodon, because he says kayana in it, yeah Obscure Star Wars lore buddy!
-
Only if you don't read Elantris E X P O S E D (It actually also shows up in a Stormlight interlude.)
-
-
Yep. I was actually going kayana wondering why the hell people were voting on a player I found obviously Village (and had stated so repeatedly) but also was playing the game at 30% for most of it (maybe 50-60% on D5 after Fura died) so I didn't know how hard I wanted to advocate for TOW against everyone else. Hence the "uh, does anyone not notice TOW is not self-pressing?" which was pretty mild all things considered, but fortunately you defected to join me.
-
Take it up with your team, that's your problem, not ours
-
Edited to add: Drake said if TOW/you doesn't want it and the duel wins out, we can nominate someone to champion our teams. I'd recommend Newt for us. She should enjoy it and her defecting to join my vote won us this championship world title match.
-
Drake's asking for a vote on duel or coinflip. Since this is SE: Duel
-
If one of them manages to suplex the other in the middle of a lightsaber fight, I will feel very impressed
-
@DrakeMarshall (But I want the lightsaber fight )
-
Duel rules are specifically from here onwards: There were some snags that Drake's probably gonna take as learning points if he hypothetically does need some dueling rules but this is better than the ones in my Jedi v Sith ruleset because that allows a double kill and in the hypothetical scenario we need a tiebreaker, that doesn't help us here.

Kas rn:

I'm curious, yeah though tbh not fully sure it's my speed. (Sorry, engaging with the rest later, functioning on < 2 hours sleep today.)
-
(I think Drake will exorcise me if I don't at least let him do me properly in the write-up, so I'll just smile mysteriously and say nothing )
-
Not surprised, I was kinda expecting it tbh. Just had to figure what to do with my last day alive. Guess they'll find out in a bit I was a Rebel without a Kas then? (Just trolling guys. ...Or am I?) Fantastic. Does this offer work if I'm in the dead doc, or no? Otherwise yeah I take it this means I can finally chill? Because ngl SNME is on Saturday and I need to see if everyone's worst fears come true.
-
You and me both >> I mean, we could go gunfight or vibroshiv fight but like, it's Star Wars man why would we not go full lightsaber when we have the chance regardless of whether it makes sense or not Tbf we did collateral damage a few ISB as well on our way. Their families deserve to be fed!
-
In such a hypothetical situation, I demand a lightsaber duel while Duel of the Fates plays in the thread. This is a Star Wars game, damnit! (Presume you polled the dead doc, presume the others should chime in, but uh, if I'm the only guy you've got on rn, let's go lightsaber man. I INSIST ON THEMATIC MUSIC. LET THIS BE EPIC Tbh I would actually like a wrestling match but accept it's not thematic and a lightsaber duel has AURA FOR DAYS. This feud will FEED FAMILIES, DAMNIT! Most notably, the families of the people we brutally murdered in our quest to eradicate the Rebels But also man. I somehow instigated this huh. IDK if I should feel proud of myself or hate myself rn
-
Is this hypothesis in the room with us right now. (LMK if I shouldn't be posting.)
-
IDK MAN BUT I DON'T SEE TOW Edited to add: Just ignore me, I'm kinda just doubting everything rn and SCREW ME WHY ARE Y'ALL DEAD PEOPLE LOOKING THE PRESSURE IS INSANE
-
Edited to add 2: Thoughts for in case I drop dead after this cycle: -If TOW flips Village, imma need y'all to look at Twinstorm who pointed out that connection. The other players I take to have that kind of ability to follow the thread that closely are in the <Doc, Argenti, Hoid> set - asterisked. I think there's potentially more going on with Argenti than meets the eye and Hoid normally could but is also really busy so IDK, italicised. -If TOW flips Elim, in this world, since I've dropped dead, I'll be not gaf in the dead doc and watching WWE screw GUNTHER fans over more -If the Head Honcho drops dead, I would recommend taking a closer look at Doc, as Doc got a bit Head Honcho fishing in our PM. I don't disagree that Doc could be curious (I've been this way in games before) but fundamentally there's again a narrow shortlist of players who could make that shot. I guess add Aet into it. -No real read on Aet b/c I legit don't know what E!Aet would look like. Some reservations about how differently we're looking at the game but some of it just boils down to ? about whether there's a LHF push going on. Can't offer advice here, just maybe try to read/doublecheck this guy. -I wanna say I slightly lean V on Hoid for one or two reasons that aren't very strong but have to do with slight paranoia gating in our PM and I don't feel that's a very natural thing for an Elim tryna pocket a Villager to do (they don't tend to be as consistent about it) but that's like...yeah. I can't disagree with what Aet pointed out. -Ah screw me Newt swapped AAAAAAAA (tfw u don't like the train/responses but also lack self-confidence since chunks of the game apparently disagree ig)
