As a part time job twi hahaha, although I have a basic understanding of your pain now. They'll probably hire me next year when I'm actually at their minimal hiring age.

I made it through an almost hour long job interview to be a lifeguard at the YMCA today. Wish I could just be a librarian instead....

I've only a vague idea of what's going on, but I'll vote for delightful if that's alright

I've been steadily watching Lagrange: The flower of Rin-ne for a couple months now on and off and have almost finished it. It's raunchier than I normally watch, but in such a goofy, without stupid, way with no actual nudity that I've been comfortable continuing the series. It's mix between mecha and slice of life, with some fairly strong fantasy elements I think, which is pretty odd at first, but appealing after a while. I'm not really into mecha normally, mostly because of Eureka 7 I guess, but the slice of life makes up something like 2/3 to 3/4 of the show so again I don't mind. The show is also a very comfortable 24 episodes, which is my preferred length for anime, and will probably be able to wrap itself up nicely. The pacing is not great, actually it's pretty bad now that I think about it, but the shows just so charming that I never really found myself minding too much. Voice acting....ehhh... it's mixed. There's several familiar voices including Roy Mustang, Vash, and I think Tamake from Ouran High. One of the three heroine's voices is an absolutely unbearable high, fluffy, fake voice, but such is the life of someone who prefers the english voice acting. The characters start pretty weak, but I think that there has been a lot of progression. My one problem is that the growth isn't that permenant. A character can struggle with something, the story arc concludes with them growing, and then the next arc starts and it doesn't feel like they've grown anymore. The show's really just popcorn fun when it comes down to it, there's no literature here folks, but I've found it provides a great contrast in tone to Lost which I've been watching as well.

Currently working through Armada, aaaaand yeah, it's disappointing how little Cline's changed from Ready Player One. It feels like he's milking the nerdish references for all it's worth, when it's really almost detrimental to the story and characters. I've also started On Basilisk Station, by David Weber, and am actually enjoying it more than I thought I would. It's slow ish, deliberate might be a better word, but still quite readable and interesting.

Now that's what I needed to hear! I hated book two so much for just those reasons plus others. I've put off reading book three since I mired through the second book two(?) years ago, but if stuff actually happens....well I might be willing to finish the trilogy.

I think that the biggest problem is indeed that Calamity showed no signs( to my remembrance) of previous interactions with David

I haven't seen season three of Arrow, or anything of Flash Darn you netflix for getting shows so late! Since I'm behind I probably won't be on this thread much so don't worry about spoilers

It's like 6 inches, yeah, or whatever the normal height for a paperback is. I take it that ya'll were talking about the odd sized paperbacks?
-
? Well now I'm confused, because I live in Ohio and my local library has WoR in both hardcover and paperback versions....

So about on par with damnation, really.

So this is really aimed at any/all of the Aussies, and any Brits I guess too. How harsh/offensive or whatever are Sod/sodding/sod off, and bloody? I've heard people say that bloody is as bad as F, but that makes no sense to me. It's used in a sentence very similarly, but so are milder words like flip or frickin.

The Book I'm Currently Reading is a great place for that kind of searching.

You know what else is interesting about Nebraska? Brandon grew up there ......

Mehhhh, I'm pretty sure that almost all of Europe is lefty and that most of Asia is as well(which does kinda go with what you said as Asia was heavily Britishly colonized. Not sure about S or Central America or the parts of Africa.

So.......the DC films are all connected right? What's the explanation for the disappearance of the Joker after Dark Knight? Ever since the first images of the Leto joker came out I've been dying inside, and this still hasn't helped. I keep waiting, hoping that they'll figure out how awful looking it is....and nope. Mehh, about sums up my feelings for the film. If its really, Really good, I'll probably go see it. But I don't really enjoy wallow(y) dark films, and I'm not convinced this or the other upcoming DC films aren't going to be that.

I've always had a very good experience with the forums. When I first got here my only previous experience with a forum was an old tiny one I used to moderate for. Getting to know the 17th shard was a lot of fun, especially back when I knew most people, at least by profile. After WoR came out and there was the huge jump in good theorizing and activity, that was probably my favorite time period on here. Since then I haven't had the time or inclination to be active on here, although for a while I did take a hiatus because I felt like I was spending too much time on here instead if studying.

I would clean upl the majority of corruption and bad organization in all governments and change cultures and economies to stop them from coming back.

I still haven't been able to get a copy of Armada!!!! The library did not enough copies, so I'm still waiting. I really enjoyed Ready Player One, so I can't wait to see what he's done in Armada.
