  1. This seems relevant to you guys.
  2. Here's the link, but it's pretty spoiler-y if you haven't seen Hell Bent.
  3. I only found out about it when you brought it up! Then I went back to Reddit and somebody had linked to the article under my comment. But yeah. Famous. Or at least, Radio Times famous. That counts for something, right? At least something small and insubstantial?
  4. I posted a Doctor Who theory on Reddit, and it got featured on the Radio Times.
  5. Yes. Yes it was. Frankly I am shocked, astounded, bewildered, amazed, honored, and utterly perplexed. Here's the Radio Times post, if anyone's interested. Hell Bent spoilers.
  6. Just saw Marvel's Ant-Man. It's no Guardians of the Galaxy, but it's close.
  7. Today I strike a fierce supporting blow for literature, then.
  8. Saw a thread for sharing Harry Potter fanfictions on Reddit. I thought about advertising Twi's awesomeamazing work in progress, but... it's Reddit. There'd be a 50/50 chance of attracting kind people legitimately interested in the story and the worst kinds of trolls. I chickened out.
  9. Go forth and math, my scaly subject. Math valiantly.
  10. R.I.P. lactose-intolerant people.
  11. Think of Breeze in Mistborn. He could influence people, even get them to be more conducive to his wants than they might otherwise be, but he couldn't Soothe someone into killing their family. And he couldn't Soothe people into not attacking him if they broke down his doors wanting his blood. Emotion control is less like a remote control for people and more like a negative/positive reinforcement system. The most you can do is give people rewards for doing what you want and punishments for irking you, but you can't take the punishment too far because they'll know that whatever you're doing to them will stop if you're dead.
  12. If sentient cabbages can run I don't see why tin dogs couldn't.
  13. There's a game on the BBC website called "Cyber Assault." It's a Risk-like strategy game where you fight against the Cybermen on the parallel Earth seen in Doctor Who. You're supposed to target the regions where the Cybermen have bases first, because when you destroy all their bases the game is over and you win whether the enemy still has territory under control or not. I decided to make an artistic statement by instead defeating the Cyberman territories, leaving the bases intact, and using the pretense of their ever-looming threat to conquer the world. (It's actually my headcanon that this is what happens after The Age of Steel. It fits with what we're told about the Cyberman situation in Doomsday, with the Cybermen defeated but sealed up in their factories. Also, Mickey Smith for World Dictator.)
  14. I wonder how much the Lord Ruler spends on birthday candles.
  15. Adorable MLP fanfictions. Specifically ones that aren't really well-written but are still cute enough to make me smile.
  16. It's not just fanfiction. I've also seen the trope used to describe antagonistic characters who are "revealed" to have actually been misunderstood good guys all along.
  17. I am struggling to imagine a demonic entity that exists solely to perpetuate bad ships on the Internet.
  18. What sort of things would we submit for Weekly Art Thing? How would it be arranged? How would it be different than independently submitting our work as individual topics?
  19. Truly, Homo sapiens has reached its zenith. There's nowhere to go from here but down.
  20. Calling it now--eventually a lurker will name his account "Babaji" or "Vashikaran Love Magic" as a joke and get instantly banhammered the instant the admins see his name.
  21. Original version: Blank version, in case anyone needs it.
  22. Been busy helping out at the local food pantry and around the homestead today. Sorry.
  23. Just rewatched that episode a few nights ago. It's one of the best Christmas specials in the show's history. If not the best. I also have a holiday sig. It was either this or the last line of my "Dear S.C." story, but I thought this was a little friendlier.
  24. When you see your rep go down by one but can't find the offending post:
