  1. So the only accurate word in there is "cop," and not for much longer once Vondra reads the mission report.
  2. This has been another thrilling episode of Good Cop, Sexy Cop! ...scratch that. Neither of them are good cops.
  3. "There's something wrong with you the way you're doing it though if Deathwish requests to be reassigned to your department five times a day."
  4. "Another strip search? You've been doing strip searches all day! First the detective you accused of corruption, then the waitress at Denny's, then the guy you saw jaywalking..."
  5. Sending her to face the Panda seems like a good option. She's far too volatile, not to mention unstoppable, to be sent along with Chouta's character. No one in the Empire is good boyfriend material, but there are far too many people there who could conceivably talk her into ditching The Dalles. She's already not very happy with who she has to work with there and what she has to put up with, and I can't imagine the incentive of winning over a woman she knew for less than thirty minutes would keep her strong against temptation. Can she blow up organic matter?
  6. Even if they were fighting her, Shiny could just touch either of them and teleport them to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
  7. That could work, but Vondra's pretty angry and determined to get Quicksilver flushed out by any means possible. I can't really see him not using an instant victory condition like Shiny every time Fatebreaker introduces an Epic the Guard can't handle. I can't imagine Vondra would be happy about an Epic like Shiny Sparkle visiting Portland, right in the heart of a hornet's nest full of Epics she could decide to ally with and lead back to The Dalles. I guess we'll just have to figure out a good justification for holding her in reserve, letting her work out interpersonal problems instead of combative ones, until we have an Epic OP enough to take her in a fight coming 'round. (Obliteration, maybe?) She's your character though. What plot line would you like to write her pursuing?
  8. I guess we could do something like that. My main problem is that I have no idea what to actually do with her. She's way too powerful to be sent into the bus chase, because she'd end it within seconds of her arriving. There's no other Epic in The Dalles who could reasonably contest her. Whichever side she's on pretty much wins automatically, unless it's a force like the City Guard ubiquitous enough to shoot her in the back when she's not looking. I can bloat out the screening process, pile up bureaucracy ahead of her, but we need to face her with a challenge she can't just blow up / teleport into submission or else she'll be the sole resolution to all of The Dalles' conflicts.
  9. I think we all pretty much know who Donna is. And if anyone needs refreshing, there's always the wiki.
  10. In case there are any Whovians here who haven't discovered the wonders of Chameleon Circuit.
  11. "Not in the real world. It used to be easy. When the Time Lords kept their eye on everything, you could hop between realities, home in time for tea. Then they died, and took it all with them. The walls of reality closed, the worlds were sealed. Everything became that bit less kind." --Tenth Doctor, Rise of the Cybermen. So as long as Hoid gets there prior to the Time War it should be fine.
  12. NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING STOP IT OH, THE HUMANITY! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
  13. That moment of supreme jubilation when you finally defeat those blasted O's... ...only to realize you've won nothing but a... shall we say, Pyrrhic victory. I wish I could say this was staged. I wish I could say I didn't actually suck at Tic Tac Toe this badly. Ah, wishes, wishes. Also, Umbreon.
  14. Wiling your way to success is still success.
  15. All the other regions have Pokemon that are unique to them. Orre is the only one populated entirely by species imported in from Japan. Wes is pretty brave and is a good battler, or at least becomes one over the course of the game--personally, I find it more interesting to consider the implications the lack of wild Pokemon in Orre has for the world. If Japan is absolutely infested with these creatures, why aren't there any to be seen in North America?
  16. Team Snagem really didn't recruit the cream of the crop. Then again, Orre is very arid and doesn't have much arid life. In the other games you can just wander into dry grass and find a Pokemon--I didn't see a single one wandering on the outskirts of Pyrite Town or Phenac City. Orre was based on Arizona, and Arizona isn't known for being brimming with easily found life. You'll notice all the Pokemon you do see are imported from other regions, suggesting that Orre doesn't have a native population of its own.
  17. So what you're saying is that Espeon and Umbreon didn't make good starters and that Orre should have used Cyndaquill, Chikorita, and Totodile instead? I might agree with you, but having Shadow Ball early on was a blessing and Espeon was a godsend when it came to fighting that Shadow Makuhita in Pyrite Town.
  18. I've never played the card game, and the only video game I played was the little known spin-off Pokemon Colosseum. Mostly I just watched the anime as a kid and geeked out over the handbook I had about the first 150 Pokemon. (Words cannot say how happy I was on the day when I got the deluxe edition that included Mew and Togepi.) It seems a bit silly now, but such is childhood.
  19. If you counted all the grains of sand in the world and compared them to the number of stars in the sky, then you'd really need a less time-intensive hobby.
  20. I'll try to put out a combined Backtrack, Lightwards, and Sam post later today.
  21. So if you don't want to be infiltrated, only employ people who know tricks that only a human could know, like whistling or juggling or sword eating or advanced yoga positions. Zoruarks can't use other creatures' abilities, so they won't be able to pass the authenticity test! That or, you know, passwords. But my idea makes for a livelier office workplace.
  22. Backtrack will probably just grab MV and hide in a dumpster when he sees the Jagers, so I'd say to let them get to the ground and go about their business first.
  23. The WHOOCs are great, Voidus. And I'm loving your Christmas avatar, Edge. Who's up next in Portland?
