  1. "Thinking, thinking... I kill people by pointing... I point with my finger... ooh, I know! Killfinger! Haha! Start trembling Chicago, because Killfinger is coming to town! "Except.... that makes it sound like I kill people's fingers. It doesn't really get the point across.... ooh, point! I've got it! I can call myself... I can call myself... oh drat it I lost my train of thought again. "Ugh. This is gonna be harder than I thought."
  2. Honestly, I was just under the impression that all the High Epics in Babilar really liked Newton for some reason and complimented her to make her feel good about herself. So you should count yourself far closer than me on the foreshadowing front.
  3. Maybe he can manipulate the tension and density of objects around him. He could use the powers on a human being to shatter an unfortunate bloke's skeleton, but he could also focus the ability and cause an entire city to crumble to its foundations as all the laws of architecture become suddenly inapplicable.
  4. I like this theory a lot. Could it be that in Calamity Megan will take herself and David into the parallel universe from which Calamity himself came through?
  5. Break backs. All the backs. Like, he claps his hands together and the spine of anyone within five miles of him is snapped like a toothpick. His weakness is Backtrack, because Backtrack has no spine.
  6. S'mores cake? ... Hold me. I think you'll like Edgedancer's theory. In its own way, it's just as exciting as an early Nighthound death. You might already know the particular spoiler he's using to base the theory, but in case you don't, I wouldn't recommend telling you the outcome. Just trust me when I say you'd love it.
  7. January 9th--happy birthday, Edgedancer! May you write a million words, garner ten thousand upvotes, and dance a thousand edges. And all around, thanks for being born, since if you hadn't, we'd have neither your terrifying villains nor your awesome nice characters.
  8. * gasp * Now now, TwiLyght. I know you're zealous, but let's not do or say anything you might regret later... "The Pandorica Opens" and "The Big Bang" are probably my favorite finale, though I've always loved "Army of Ghosts" and "Doomsday" (which were the first episodes I ever saw.) As for Timeport and being the Master... well, the Master's had almost as many personalities and levels of savagery as the Doctor has. It's hard to pinpoint particular traits of the Master as a character, besides the desire to rule and dominate over others.
  9. I just saw these today: They were penned by the extraordinary Sandara on Deviantart. They capture a realistic, epic fantasy feel for the series that I'd never imagined before. I mean... wow. For the uninitiated: from top to bottom, they are Nightmare Moon, Discord, Queen Chrysalis, and King Sombra.
  10. I regret my capacity for understanding the English language just from hearing that concept.
  11. To continue our maritime metaphor, the Sea of Fanfic swarms with monsters of the most unspeakable kind. But sprinkled throughout the Sea are islands and archipelagos of quality literature, on which a knowledgeable navigator can find great riches. There are plenty of good fanfictions, is what I'm saying.
  12. Hmm... who's the third? I'm counting Phaedrus and Obliteration, but I'm not sure who the third High Epic you're talking about is.
  13. That's the first thought I had too, but he really doesn't fit the physical description.
  14. You'd be tipsy as an armored truck with three tires. 'Cuz you know... the truck would tip to one side a lot? Guys?
  15. Granted. It happens to be this pony... I wish for a pair of pink-tinted sunglasses.
  16. And... poof. Obliteration becomes an instant heartthrob and is shipped with every character on the Web. Just like that.
  17. Firefight-derived:
  18. Granted. They are not yours to command, and they bring you in the shackles to the Squirrel Lich. I wish for a well-crafted fancy pen.
  19. Words of Radiance spoilers:
  20. I've been reading more fanfiction here lately. (Mostly of the MLP variety, since Fimfiction.net has fairly clear-cut ways to find the highest quality stories.) Once I finish "PS: I Hate You," I'll probably do the same thing I've done with many other fanfic writers--visit your profile, examine everything you've written, then examine everything you've favorited to springboard me into the world of HP fan works. I am a novice sailor on the fanfic sea, but I'm learning quickly. ... Navigating the fanfic sea sounds alarmingly like stalking when I say it that way, actually. Translation: You need to create an Epic named Eyetwitch the Tenth.
  21. No one said Samantha Trattner wasn't perceptive when it comes to Epic crushes. Though if you think about it, Lucentia being jealous of Obliteration can only have good results. Either she'd succeed in impaling him... or he'd vaporize her on the spot. Either way, the world would be a better place. You should have seen my household when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out. My parents tried to call first dibs on it as per the "might makes right" rule, but I was sneaky enough to read it in spurts while they were busy with other things. Speaking of which, I'm loving that story. Dobby's chapter's probably my favorite thus far, though the extraordinary self-centeredness of Petunia Dursley was golden as well. You've been added to the PM. I'm in the awkward position of having made an educated guess of what weaknesses were tied to and using that system to develop characters. And then being proven wrong about how weaknesses work. The result is that a few of my Epics have weaknesses perfectly attuned with the canon system, while others are completely ludicrous.
  22. Looking forward to your official verdict. And your squeals upon reading the book's ending. ... Draco/Luna? As in Draco Malfoy and Luna Lovegood? The two characters of entirely different ideology who never speak to each other in the books? I mean, you shipped Lucentia with a hamster, so I'm not really all that surprised. Do you still have the link/feel comfortable sharing said link?
  23. There are some definite outs. Ignoring the Big Thing™ completely is probably not necessary, like I may have implied before. It will definitely complicate matters though, and we'll probably have to spend a few days giving justifications for why various characters didn't fit in with it perfectly. No point fretting over it just yet though, which I keep forgetting. I hope you all find my defensive nature towards the RP understandable. So, onto another matter... will there be prizes given out to whoever namedrops Regalia and Obliteration in the RP the most during the next week or so?
  24. It doesn't sound whiny at all. It's how I feel about reading about the character, and about characters of my own. Um... if I might go on the record expressing what may be an unpopular opinion...
  25. The key here is that Dawnslight did use them fully. He sculpted an entire utopia in his dreams, molding it onto the real world. He fed millions of people. He made the waters warm, undoubtedly providing habitats for thousands of aquatic plants and animals that could never have lived so far north otherwise. He had one of the largest and most profound effects on the rest of the world of any Epic known; compare Dawnslight to an Epic like Curveball. Regalia saw granting powers to a man in a coma as a waste, but she had a narrow way of looking at it. Dawnslight was a magnificent demigod that affected the planet in ways most other Epics could only dream of. Granting him powers was most definitely not a waste, and it may be the only decision Calamity made that actually helped people.
