  1. I'm amused by the thought of Lucentia returning to her city only to find it in ruins, prompting her to begin a long and pitiful rant about how she can't stop working for "one measly week" without everything going to Calamity in a handbasket. Or I would be amused, if it weren't for all the Astorians in the city who'll have to put up with the new arrivals. I've been assuming What Happened in Astoria would take place far enough in the future for me to use Sunburst. If our plans are indeed accelerating, I'll need to create a new heinously overpowered Epic to bring to the party.
  2. Weren't we planning on starting it once the CM War ended and Lucentia returned home? I'm for it, mind you, but I'm confused about our plans. Will there be Voidgaze flashbacks at some point?
  3. Welcome back! I've added you and Fatebreaker to the conversation. Participate at your leisure.
  4. I think it's because even though she isn't maintaining an illusion, she is consciously maintaining a window into the other universe. This probably takes concentration, which could be interrupted. Her interrupted concentration could be caught on camera, thus leading to David forming the faulty conclusion that she is an illusionist.
  5. Meh. I don't know if he's influencing me and I don't care either way There's absolutely no way you could convince me that pun wasn't deliberate. Do you want in on our "What Happened in Firefight" PM group?
  6. Granted. They are all imaginary and manifest as squirrel-like hallucinations. I wish for everyone on the planet to be compelled to move like chess pieces.
  7. Granted. You will not be a thinking quantum energy being, however, so you will spend the rest of eternity floating without thought or memories through the space of a single atom. I wish to play a game of chess with Kelsier.
  8. I thought it was pretty meh. (That book is sparkin' awesome, if you'll forgive the language. So many twists and turns and shocking moments. My jaw is still hurting from being dropped so many times.)
  9. You're invited to the PM. Is it safe to presume you've finished the book, then?
  10. Granted. Anything you think of will be summoned, and you will have no way of returning summoned objects or entities to their books. Try not to think about the Everstorm flying out of Words of Radiance. Or about Calamity rising from the pages of Steelheart. Or about Ruin busting free from a copy of Mistborn. Oh, you just thought about every one of those things? Whoops-a-daisy. I wish for the ability to work dark magic against spambots.
  11. Ha! I was pretty sure your name was Liam from back when we were editing Google Docs together, but I didn't catch the user name joke. I already knew this one thanks to my exceptional Internet sleuthing skills. (By which I mean, I viewed your Fanfiction.net page. ) I'm pretty sure I'd be less inclined to give my real name if you were pointing a sword at me. My name is... * mumble * My name... * mumble mumble * There, I said it. Nice names, everybody.
  12. I know the given names of several people in the RP. Fortunately I'm still staunchly embedded in my castle of anonymity. (At least until the homeschooling curriculum I write for gets published and I start linking to it at every opportunity. ) And happy birthday! I wish you a life filled with pug puppies and a positive Firefight reading experience. If you have half the happiness today that you bring to others every day, then you'll have a merry birthday indeed.
  13. I know he's a homicidal lunatic who's killed more people than the atom bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined... but darn it, I really want Obliteration to be redeemed. How great of a victory would that be for the Reckoners--actually winning over one of the most feared and deadly Epics in the world? And none of his actions seem to have done with the calculated malice that characterized Steelheart and Regalia; he is quite genuinely insane and seems to view himself as endowed with divine purpose. If he were freed from Calamity's corruption and given a new, more moral purpose, Obliteration could make for a worthy champion of good in the Fractured States.
  14. Granted; everyone else in the world has the same ability, and their saves and ctrl-z's all override yours. I wish to visit a parallel universe where my doppelgänger rules the world.
  15. Tenth episode of Season 2, with David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. But not nearly enough of David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor to justify the episode, in my opinion.
  16. I'm finally trying out The Dresden Files.

Stick with it. It gets better :)

I would say that the first 4 are about elantris level. The next 6 are Mistborn, and the rest are SA/Steelheart Level.

      Couldn't agree more with this.

  17. * puts on forced smile * I've occasionally seen Love and Monsters praised... and overall it has a pretty neat concept. For me it was the monster design and certain jokes in poor taste that ruined it for me. * eye twitches at the acknowledgement *
  18. That's great! Christopher Eccleston is the Ninth Doctor. The most current is Peter Capaldi, who plays the Twelfth Doctor in Season 8. Personally I wouldn't recommend skipping any on your first go-through. I love a lot of episodes that tend to get hated, and I've hated episodes that are quite often adored. So skipping any episodes might rob you of an experience you'd greatly enjoy while others disdain.
  19. Depends on what you mean by "direct." Water manipulation could be used to devastating effect in skilled hands, and a super speedster with a knife or sword could take on armies single-handedly.
  20. Breaking News: Oregon utterly destroyed by Azrionite battlecruiser crashing into the planet. All trees, buildings, and natural features completely annihilated. Byringian Oligarchy claims non-involvement; Queen of the Supernal Sky-State refuses to send foreign aide, on grounds that surviving members of the Jäger family make site unsafe for relief workers. Yeah, it seems things could get a bit out of hand. I think an Epic who claims to be an alien who's come to Earth to unite humanity could be pretty neat, though. Especially if it were Anagairia, whose ability to take a bizarre fish-like shape could support her claims and enable her to form a cult.
  21. So... don't mean to interrupt, but I was reading the Epics of Oregon thread and I did a bit of a double take at this one: She sounds neat, and please note I'm not trying to stifle anyone's creativity... but were aliens discussed with the GM? Aliens are kind of a big game changer, and as of yet aren't part of Reckonerverse canon. Just wondering if Anagairia was officially sanctioned.
  22. I'll admit, "Vanilla, Epic, High Epic" is a much tougher game than I'd anticipated it being.
  23. * cough * Megan * cough *
  24. I tried to make an Obliteration pony earlier, but I just couldn't seem to get him right. Maybe I should try Mizzy or Exel instead... If you're bored we could play "Vanilla, Epic, High Epic." It's like "Animal, Vegetable, Mineral," but with vanillas, Epics, and High Epics.
