Blackwave the Terrible: To join my crew, you first need to gouge out one of your own eyeballs. Crewman: Well, if you say so... eye-eye, captain! Blackwave: ...Get off my ship. Crewman: Are you giving me a poor pi-rating? ... I'll show myself out.

I'm sure she'll be flattered to hear you say that. -
Or "Timeport has somewhat misogynistic leanings"?
-
Above "The Communist Manifesto was well-received" and "Adolf Hitler is often treated negatively in the media"?
-
It marks certain sentences as important or must-read. It's a way of actually carrying out planning on our planning thread; I don't know if you've noticed, but we have a tendency towards wordiness on the Question threads.

Technically, I think a glittermancer would be someone who uses glitter to predict the future. But I like your interpretation better. What Happened in Alaska? An unsettling number of frozen goods, that's what.
-
Is she the one he called a glittermancer? And his nickname for Khione is "Snowcone Lady;" whether it counts as foreshadowing is yet to be seen.
-
Additional reasons: His envy for the powers of other High Epics. Because Backtrack started it, and if he ever says it in front of Sam she'll never let anyone forget it.

"Vote Lightwards the Green--an environmentalist hero!" --campaign poster found in the Northwest Charfields. Once called "the State of Oregon."
-
Oregon's going as green as a certain bowler hat, then.
-
Now whenever someone uses the phrase "fossil fuel," I'll picture a dozen velociraptors jogging on a treadmill to generate electricity. Thanks. Poor Lightwards. He just can't seem to find decent allies.
-
If she agrees to serve Lightwards, then Numnums could become a renewable resource for her.
-
The mere thought of that's enough to make me laugh. If we wanted to be especially therapeutic, then Numnums could rampage through the neighborhood and distract the Trifecta long enough for a few partially undressed women to sneak away.
-
I'm in favor of making it canon, myself. Some discussion of Numnums meeting Quota has taken place.

A dramatic echo--common in fiction, but as usual put to particularly good use by our beloved Author. Re-reading Sanderson's works always seems to uncover multiple layers of brilliance.

To clarify, do you mean characters who qualify as a "Dark Lord," or characters from a franchise called "Dark Lord"?

I'm beginning to think that Archivists keep mildly terrifying notebooks. "Susanna Jones--never again." "St. Bernards--never again." "Jumping on the bed--never again." "Contracting the flu--never again." "Hiring a hitman--never again. (Also, if the CIA comes by, destroy this notebook and act as oblivious as I know you are." "Chick-fil-A on Wilson Street--never again." "Destroying my copperminds--never again." "Archivists Anonymous meeting--never again." -
It sounds like someone's in for a long overdue meeting with Doctor Funtimes. Are all the episode antagonists as... unconventional as Norman the "Normal Man"?

Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!

Homesteader here. I've weathered Illinois winters on a five-acre farm. I've trudged through fields of knee-deep snow on my way to and fro the chicken coop and the barn at the other end of the farm. I've slipped and fallen on my butt on ground entirely encrusted with ice--often repeatedly over the course of the same day. It's hard keeping your footing on five acres of hilly terrain that have suddenly decided to veto the law of fiction. At age thirteen I was shoved backwards into the snow by our rambunctious Great Pyrenees dog. Twaddled in my warm weather gear, I lay twitching in the snow for five minutes like a pill bug on its back, completely incapable of crawling to my feet. I chased poultry through the snow in an attempt to put them into a warm coop at night. I chased them through blizzards--honest to goodness blizzards, when the winds sliced me to the bone and blasted tiny daggers of ice into my eyeballs. When I could genuinely not see three feet in front of me because the whirling snow and ice obscured my vision. (And for the record, no, I did not receive hot cocoa upon my return to the house. We were out of cocoa on that day.) I've been trapped behind gates and fences because their latching mechanisms froze in the cold, forced to use lighters to burn my way out. Let me tell you, it's hard to get a functional flame from a lighter when your fingers are too numb to pull the trigger, and when the flammable fuel has wholly ceased to be flammable. And when you finally manage to spark a precious blue flame, and when you've finally pressed it into the gate's latch to sear away the frozen lock, I guarantee you that a sharp wind will kill your flame, your hope, and your love of winter in a single pass. Ladies and gentlemen... snow sucks. -
She's awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing her, her powers, and her schizophrenia in action. Timeport's in Portland, but there's so much going on there that new players are encouraged to join in The Dalles instead. Bear in mind though that with current plans being the way they are, it's quite possible that Timeport will outlive the Portland thread. You'd have to ask mail-mi to be sure, though.
-
She sounds awesome! Have you thought at all about her personality and personal appearance? I'm excited to see her. Did someone adjust the Question thread's Awesomeness dial to 110% again? Because I think that Lightsong pony proves that someone has.
-
I helped her come up with it. Which perhaps makes up for the fact that until recently most of my Dalles Epics haven't even had weaknesses.
-
Why first? To be honest, it's usually the last thing I do. Is there a particular reason why you add it first?

If your ex is a Feruchemist who uses the same trick, couldn't you get caught in an endless loop of getting together, breaking up, forgetting one another, and repeating the experience all over again? -
So would I. With the dark direction the main series has taken recently, I can't help but think a more light-hearted animated spinoff would do the franchise good. I want to see Soos meet Craig from The Lodger and Closing Time.
