I'd happily frame either of these on my wall. Upvotes to you and to your sister!
  2. This is both a game and an intellectual exercise. This is for those of us who like speculative situations, well thought-through contingency plans, endeavoring to prevent the planet from being destroyed, and the occasional moral dilemma. Interested? Here's how I'm thinking this will work. One member will post a scenario. This scenario will hinge around a speculative element, either rooted in the realm of science fiction or from the realm of fantasy. The key is that the incident must be paranormal and potentially threatening towards society. Once the scenario has been established, other members will play the roles of the administrators of a global foundation dedicated to protecting the planet from the paranormal. They will accomplish this by... Investigating the scenario by asking the original poster questions; Determining what level of threat the scenario entails; And ultimately, by either taking action or allowing the situation to play out on its own. It will then be up to the person who devised the scenario to let the forum know whether their actions or lack thereof have saved or destroyed the world. Often nicknamed "The Worst That Could Happen Foundation" for their paranoia and detailed contingency plans, these administrators have access to military, scientific, and legal resources, with a global level of influence. With that said, their resources are not limitless, prohibiting them from nuking every paranormal event in sight or launching haunted objects into the sun. You can think of this either as a game or as an open forum for discussing hypothetical situations. I think this could be a lot of fun, simply as a way of flexing our creative and paranoid muscles. If there's any interest at all in this sort of game/mental exercise, I'll post an opening scenario for everyone to debate about. Once there's a group consensus about my straightforward situation (it'll probably be something simple that has to do with aliens), I'll pass the reins on to another member who wants to come up with a fiendishly world-threatening situation. Remember the key aspect of this game: you don't know everything about the scenario, and the worst thing that could happen probably will. So I'll reiterate... anyone interested?
  3. Hmm... I definitely need to know if my guess for Koschei's weakness is correct. For... what was it you said? Planning. Yep. Definitely planning. I need Koschei's weakness for planning purposes, not because I'm insanely curious and impatient.
  4. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Prince Caspian Voyage of the Dawn Treader The Silver Chair The Horse and His Boy The Magician's Nephew The Last Battle Out of the Silent Planet Mere Christianity The Screwtape Letters Name one creature from South American mythology.
  5. Sadly I must concur with TwiLyght. While the Bandersnatch has previously namedropped faithful fans in his works (Mistborn books in particular), these namedrops have occurred almost exclusively because the fan in question won some form of contest. Which is understandable--if our beloved author included the names or characters of all his fans in his books, the novels would be little more than glossaries of names and terms. But it does make it unlikely that Calamity will actually feature the names of any fan or fan-made characters. As for the main topic: I could also support a few smaller articles about elements of the Reckonerverse that aren't specifically related to any one Epic. An article on the Knighthawk Foundry, for instance, or about the workings and beliefs of the Faithful.
  6. Hmm. It seems my two-for-one trade offer inadvertently raised the price for Timeport's weakness. Economics at work.
  7. That is completely, utterly awesome. :D How long does it take you to draw a picture like that, out of curiosity?
  8. Calamity gives us the antidote to go along with the poison. What a guy.
  9. Ray and the Unicyclist will be attacking Nighthound at the same time? Keep your fingers crossed, guys.
  10. And the origin story of the most ridiculous RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME Epic in Portland begins. Would that I could upvote it twice.
  11. * pats back * There there, little buddy. Ridiculously high levels is something that I've gotten used to. Having almost as many upvotes as there are years between now and the last Pleistocene Ice Age is something else entirely. A good something, don't get me wrong. But even though I was expecting it, it was still awesomely surprising. (Would it be pretentious to thank everybody who's ever upvoted me now?)
  12. My first thought upon seeing my page at 10000 was to think, "Holy chull--Delightful was right. Good job, Delightful!" Also, a whoop of joy. But you don't need to hear about that.
  13. I didn't find it so. It's a shame I can't do kissing in the creator, or else I'd ponify it.
  14. Was his fear what drove him to escapist outlets like video games in the first place?
  15. TwiLyght will lead us into a golden age, in which we will prosper. By this date next year, the RP will have gone through its 10, 000th Question thread. Not an Astorian, but... do you know Lightwards'? Twi, Mailliw, mail-mi, and Voidus all know it now, and for the low price of Blackwave's weakness, you can too!
  16. I like them both. Are Frostfire and Azrael's weaknesses publicly known? Because I don't remember them I'm afraid. Wildly unrelated note. I just downloaded the official Dalek voice font used in Doctor Who novels and comic books, and I threw this together in celebration.
  17. Of course. (My weaknesses are a 1:1 trade most times, but my advice is always free. )
  18. I will someday bring Jingleberry into the RP for a small part, and I already know what her weakness will be.
  19. I can start RAFOing you about my character's weaknesses, if you want.
  20. Darn. Timeport's the one I'm most curious about. Would a double trade appeal to you? I send you Lightwards and Backtrack's weaknesses? Backtrack's revised weakness in particular would be quite easy for Reader to exploit, adding even more drama hilarity to their meetings.
  21. Indeed it is. (But isn't Windrunner a woman? )
  22. Cool. Care to trade Lightwards' and PP's on the black market?
  23. Chimera and Lightwards as a team. I'm not sure whether that's a thought so terrifying I should forget it this instant, or whether we should take steps to make it happen in canon. (Also, I'm hugely flattered that you liked Lightwards' weakness so much. ) Would PP be one of those two?
  24. !! 10, 000 !!
