  1. I don't know whether that should really be taken as canon or not, though. Peter has a bit of a troll-y reputation.
  2. I wouldn't go so far as to call them Scumbag Steves Steelhearts. I understand their curiosity, and you can bet that if I were at a Mistborn signing, I'd ask at least one Reckoners question. I'm just annoyed because I'm enormously curious about the Fractured States, and I'd love to have a better understanding of the global political climate. We could even put many Reckonerverse factoids to good use in the RP, either incorporating them into character's backstory like with Nathan's past in Fortuity, or by adding them to basic traits of the setting, like how Snowfall aides in making the weather funky in Oregon. Pony-related? How 'bout a Lucentia or Astorian comic?
  3. Would it be a Lucentia-style complaint to complain about how my bacon was so delicious that my farm-fresh fried eggs were inferior by comparison? It's just that we have enough Cosmere WoBs to fill a book of their own, while we didn't even know that Houston, San Diego, and Phoenix were obliterated until the new book told us so. Just a little info about the major Epics of the world would be nice, and could even help us flesh out the backstories of characters. If nothing else, worldbuilding's awesome to hear about, but no one but us seems interested in it at all.
  4. Your soul is split into five equal portions, which manifest physically as balls of fusion-processing plasma that instantly annihilate your body, house, and continent as they ascend into the heavens. As a quintet of stars, you shine above the earth as a new constellation, which mortals will come to call the High Five. I wish for the ability to enter the twilight realm of Fairyland.
  5. [petulant Lucentia-style complaint] You know what makes me shake in futile frustration? The fact that any of us would kill for even the most basic Reckonerverse question to be answered, while all of the people who attend Firefight signings ask nothing but Cosmere questions. [/petulant Lucentia-style complaint]
  6. Anything about Night's Sorrow or the Coven; Whether or not Atlanta will have an altered name in Calamity; Whether or not any Epics successfully faced their fears before the events of Firefight; The names or powers of any Epics involved in the destruction of Oregon; Whether it's possible for Gifters to gift to animals or not; Obliteration's pre-Calamity name; Whether the amount of Epic DNA in an Epic-derived device influences the power or effectiveness of said device; There are other people with far more comprehensive lists of Reckonerverse questions. I'm just pointing out that we know far less about the Reckonerverse than about the Cosmere, and that we love pretty much any new piece of information about the setting.
  7. On behalf of the Oregon Reckoners RPG, I'd like to go on the record saying that we lap up any and all Reckonerverse tidbits to incorporate into our fanon. I'm just hinting that anyone who asks Reckonerverse questions is likely to be showered with praise and upvotes.
  8. If this is in the wrong place, feel free to move or delete this as the mods see fit. In my settings I have the option to ignore forum signatures or even entire people. I'd like to block out an individual's profile picture without ignoring the member altogether. Is that possible?
  9. Hey, do you know how many of us would kill to have Brandon Sanderson chase us across the country? Do you?
  10. Meanwhile the lot of us that can't make it to signings at all fix you with harsh, envious gazes.
  11. I write educational topics, three or four paragraphs apiece, for a homeschooling curriculum. Today I'm writing about ostriches, and came across these two pictures that both made me laugh out loud: That is all.
  12. I like your questions, and the Gifter question would definitely be interesting to hear the answer to. Personally though, I'd be more interested in asking him whether there's anything he can tell us about Night's Sorrow or the Coven--both of these are mentioned as major players in the Reckonerverse in Steelheart, yet we know scarcely anything about either. We don't even know Night's Sorrow's gender or powers, despite (s)he being an infamous Epic on the same tier as Obliteration and Steelheart himself. Of course, I'm not going to the signing, so don't take my question as more important than yours. Night's Sorrow and the Coven are just a pair of subjects that are under a lot of speculation on the Reckoners board, so it would be nice if someone at some point could wheedle out some info about them. Have fun at the signing!
  13. "Danielle, why are you stapling black curtains over all the windows?" "Can't let him in. Got to block out his smile. Can't let him get in..." "Uh... okay. Do you need some time off?" Best case scenario: the cupcake actually functions as his weakness. Worst case scenario: he'll look ridiculous holding the cupcake.
  14. She holds her brother in reserve. If a receptionist really ticks her off, she'll have her brother stand just outside a window and stare at her, smirking for hours at a time. ...or am I not helping? Huh. Good question. Dark chocolate, perhaps? Very dark? CorpseMaker's would definitely be coffee, though.
  15. Oh dear. Sorry you had to put up with that. Would a thrilling conclusion to the Calamity's Cupcake cycle help? (Firefight spoilers)
  16. And it's an insta-kill weapon, too. I don't know how he got one on such an early level without hacking. Ooh. Sorry to hear that. Wanna tell us exactly what happened so we can commiserate?
  17. The Unfortuitous Misadventures of Captain Cardinal and Space Cadet Lawrence are officially a go, then.
  18. So a story where all the main Oregon characters are the crew of a starship would be entirely kosher?
  19. Take it from a member some might call an expert: upvotes don't make sense. How much longer will Valentine's Day be the WHOOC theme?
  20. This is the site you can get it from, I think.
  21. It's been a while since I've played the game or modded its files, but if you downloaded the game and sent me the current dwarf code, I could do my best to add Epicness to the game. Dwarf Fortress, by the way, is indirectly responsible for my username. I always loved the kobolds in the game, and constantly protested to my kobold-murdering brother that their thieving of dwarven supplies was just a cultural misunderstanding. I watched the kobolds. I made it my ambition to understand the ways of kobolds. I imagined myself as kobold royalty. The rest is history.
  22. I could actually mod Epics into the game. The key would be to add a few new castes to the dwarf species that would randomly spawn in the population. I would mod these individuals to have powers like impenetrable skin, rapid healing, firebreath, super-strength, or super-speed, while altering the personality traits that are usually random to make them 100% likely to become murderous sociopaths. Now I want to re-download the game.
  23. Hmm. By posting on this topic I agree to relinquish my soul to the Dark Alley. Seems legit. I definitely like this theory. My kneejerk reaction is that it seems like Calamity should be powerful enough to easily overwhelm Regalia and to rescue his brother, but we know so little about Calamity that he could be an anthropomorphic winged meerkat and we'd be none the wiser. I don't know if the Bandersnatch will pull the sibling card, but I bet there will be at least one major twist about Calamity's true nature.
  24. It was a FUN game. Complex as heck, though. My fortresses all died through famine, drought, velociraptor attack (I really shouldn't have modded dinosaurs into the game), striking the "Circus" and being overrun with "Clowns," and most depressingly common of all, vicious murder spirals in which all my dwarves grew unhappy, went berserk and killed their friends, then got more unhappy because their friends were dead, and repeated the berserk murder sprees over and over again. Like I said. A very FUN game.
