  1. I have nothing major to go on, but there was something I didn't like about Elenion's first post. The stuff he was suggesting seemed more designed to reveal roles than protect anyone. So, Elenian.
  2. Honestly, I have no idea who to vote for. It's been ages since I last played, so I'm just trying to get a handle on the game again. So, I'm going to put my vote on RippleGylf. I don't have much beyond an unease about how she called Mac out for doing something we should probably all be doing - trying not to be suspicious.
  3. Nope, you're not alone. I think the Queen of all Fabrials will make a perfect partner for the Spren of all Fabrials
  4. I'll admit, I'm also hoping for a Navani/Sibling pairing, but Rlain does have possibilities.
  5. I'd make the argument that Kaladin is Lawful Good, just the laws he follows are not the laws of the land. Lawful Good can apply to a personal code, rather than actual laws.
  6. Rock. Rock for Bondsmith 2018. He's the first Horneater to get Shards, so according to Horneater legend will become King of the Peaks. The Horneater Peaks is also the home of Cultivation's Perpendicularity. Who better to save the Peaks/Perpendicularity than the Nightwatcher and Rock as her Bondsmith? If our theories about Urithiru and the Sibling are true, what about Rlain bonding the Sibling to provide the Singers with a home? That idea just occurred to me, but I do like it.
  7. I would say Miracle Max would definitely be a Truthwatcher.
  8. Growing a city: I imagine the same way that Dalinar persuaded the temple to reassemble. I'm also hoping at some point we see this very same power used to rebuild Aimia. Cryptic's hum: I on't think there is any reason to believe they serve Odium. That was just random speculation. Maybe it wasn't following Shallan. I think Shallan is wrong about Lightweavers and squires. I think one is looking at Vathah. Syl killing the Spren: I imagine there is a difference between hunting Spren - we've already seen they use weapons in Shadesmar - and being physically used to run one through.
  9. There is a scene in OB where they find a depiction of three "Gods" in Urithiru - The Almighty, depicted as a cloud (or rather, I think it was the Stormfather, rather than the Almighty); the Nightwatcher, who is depicted as a tree lady; and a third, depicted as Human-ish, but with his arms wrapped around a great blue disc. We also know that the bond can have effects from a great distance, what with the Stormfather able to pull Dalinar into visions from the other side of the continent, thanks to their bond. Could it be that the Sibling, representing the earth or water of Roshar, is in some way located at Aimia?
  10. Bort grunted. Bloody spies, here as well? Typical. Well, not much to do other than keep his eyes open, and a hand on one of his many spiky weapons. Then along comes some fellow claiming to be a commander, and going on about vagrant behaviour, or something like that. Or what about that guy claiming to be Lucky? That was a bit dodgy. He was probably one of the spies and hoped his 'luck' would let him pass unnoticed. That was as good a logic as any this early in the proceedings, so... Lucky.
  11. So, can a player both take an action, and cast a vote? I assume the answer is yes, otherwise you would have people using their abilities then dying for not voting.
  12. I've tried to touch on all of your points, but will admit that this is still about 75% speculation. 1. Pretty sure, yes, Syl is referring to Tien. Later on, in a letter from the Ghostbloods, Mraize tells Shallan that the only person to have bonded a Spren in Amaram's army was already dead. Makes me wonder just how deliberate that sword thrust was that cut Tien down. 2. Yes, Urithiru is rather odd. I suspect it is because Urithiru wasn't built, like a normal city, but it was grown. There is a conversation between Navani and Dalinar that discusses this, talking about a heart of emerald and ruby (I think it was ruby), and veins of garnet. 3. That place doesn't ring any bells for me, I'm afraid. As for why, why not? 4. I'm not sure why we didn't see the Fused Lash people for travel. We have seen them use it in combat. They tried to Lash both Kaladin and Moash at different points in the book. (Also, just one other point, there is another way into Urithiru - it is mentioned as discovered in the tunnels where Re-Shephir fled, which are scouted out so Navani and Jasnah can set up their scholars in the gem column room). 5. That's Lopen playing with his Spren. 6. Odium isn't from Roshar, so looks like the descendants of the original humans on Roshar, the Shin. 7. As has already been pointed out, hungerspren appear brown, where those Shallan saw later on were black, so my guess is that Sja-anat just hadn't bothered. 8. Hoid has many strange abilities, and I think Pattern is saying that Hoid is a lot like a spren. Especially when you hear Hoid's own description about how he came to be (Way of Kings, I believe, talking to Kaladin) - he stole himself, was born of words of a page, that sort of thing. 9. I have no idea. 10. I don't think your quotes are related. The first, I got the impression that the 'Mmmm' Veil heard was a Cryptic, very much like Pattern. This might be the one that Hoid rescues at the end of OB, or it could be a corrupted one hanging around the Revel. Or, it could be a spot of foreshadowing. Do Cryptics already serve Odium? 11. Imagine being a hunter. You shoot deer or whatever, then discover that the thing you just shot was actually a guy wearing a horse costume. You're not going to feel great about it. I think that's all it was. 12. Sja-anat's child is, I believe at least, Glys. It is left vaguely vague though, so I could well be wrong. 13. Maybe they like to hang out where the wine gets made, who knows. Roshar's ocean is vast, so why does Cusisech (or however you spell that) stay in one place? 14. I wasn't expecting it to. It was the transition from the cognitive to the physical that broke her, time and oaths are what will heal her, not simply going home. 15. I think this is because Syl was already freaking out about being recognised. 16. For this one, I think something weird is going on here. i think Dalinar is actually talking to Nohadon. There is also WoB where he being evasive about how Nohadon is still alive (apparently). 17. Different worlds, different Shards, different rules. I suspect that Odium's problem here is that his initial agreement was with Honour who, despite being dead, is still invested enough into Roshar to hold Odium to the pact. Whatever the pact was.
  13. A large, hulking fellow stomped closer to the fire, chomping down on something crunchy he held in his hand. He was festooned with weapons, swords, knives, axes, spears, and maces, all hanging about his person. About the only thing all of the weapons had in common was that each one of them had spikes, in one form or another. The other notable thing about the "gentleman" was his face. It looked like it had personally tested the effectiveness of each and every one of the weapons he carried. As he sat down, he spared a glare for the others sat around the fire, and continued eating.
  14. The "authority" Notum spoke of are the rulers among the Honorspren. Basically, he had prisoners he was uncomfortable handling, so he was looking forward to pushing them further up the chain of command. I'm really hoping that we see a revisit to Shadesmar in the next book, possibly as some kind of concerted effort to free the Horneater Peaks/Cultivation's Perpendicularity, and claim Rock's throne.
  15. Actually, I spotted something in OB last night that might help explain why Brandon sent them to Shadsmar, but we'll have to wait until book four to see if I'm right or not. One of the reasons Kaladin agreed to go to Kholinar is so, once they were done there, he could go and rescue his parents (again), and he planned to leave just as soon as they were done there. Without Kaladin being shipped off to Shadesmar, then we might have seen something quite different had he instead headed north back home. So, what I am expecting we get to see now is something happening with his parents and new brother which made them flee across the border into Herdaz (like was said in OB a lot of Alethi seem to be doing), and we'll have a bit of a hunt for them in book 4.
  16. I'm still convinced that the 'three of sixteen ruled' is still about Honour, Cultivation, and Odium (being three of the Shards of Adonalsium), with the Broken One being Odium, since Honour is dead, and Cultivation is, apparently, in hiding.
  17. So, Rock has a Shardblade and Plate. He is, according to Horneater legend, therefore going to be the first Horneater King. But there are problems, like the forces of Odium hijacking the Peaks and Cultivation's Perpendicularity. So, he is going to need some help. What if Rock doesn't go straight home, but instead visits the Valley, and bonds the Nightwatcher? Cultivation's "Godspren" would be a brilliant ally against the Fused in the Peaks, and Cultivation herself does have a reason for wanting the Peaks to be peaceful - namely her Shardpool is there.
  18. Congratulations @Alderant you've actually managed to convince me to subscribe to a thread. That doesn't normally happen, but I am really interested in seeing your analysis.
  19. Worming... No, I don't think we are. Certainly that's not the impression I got from reading Oathbringer. As WoB said, it is more like she took a step in the right direction, but still has a ways to go yet.
  20. @MountainKing Yup, I'm pretty sure you are right.
  21. That does make sense, although isn't quite what I was asking. Using your example above, I am the sentry, and I target you. I see anyone that targets you, but if you, say, targeted Joe, would I also see that?
  22. So, the sentry is informed of who targeted the person they are observing, but not who the person they are observing targets themselves? I'm in as Bort the Brute, an oversized thug with a fondness for large spiky objects with handles, possibly with Koloss blood.
  23. The Fused come in every Desolation (except possibly the first, maybe second). It's just this time around, they are carried by the Everstorm, and they don't return to Damnation when they die, instead being reborn in the next storm. I'm glad you liked my theory
  24. I reckon there are ten Heralds and only nine Unmade because one of the Heralds never broke, until now, and the Everstorm is his Unmade. Take a look at the theory in my signature for more details.
  25. Yes it did. It might not have given you as much info on the Ghostbloods as you'd like, but there was quite a bit of interaction with them. Also, what about the line from Mraize about using the Voidbringers?
