  1. I'm double posting, because judging by the upvotes, people are interested in how the changes are going. Progress on the new scheme goes pretty well. I think I'm pretty close to finishing where the levels are at. The increase is much more linear, though as the rep goes up, its slope increases. So, it's basically a piecewise linear function, which is always increasing. The first 0-100 reputation is a little odd because I like fitting the powers of 16 in with nice powers of ten. This means that in that those first 100, sometimes the step between rank 6 and 7 may be lower than the difference between rank 5 and 6. I don't really foresee this mattering much, considering that's how the low levels are now, and no one seemed to care I'll need to make sure that after 128, the deltas between the ranks are at least nondecreasing. I think I mostly have it figured out, though. Now comes the difficult part, in placing each title with each number! Some facts (preliminary, of course): -There are currently 80 tiers of rep rankings. -A little over 25% of them are the range from 0 to 128. -A little over 50% of them are the rankings from 0 to 1024, the current cap of ranks. So that means there's plenty of progression at higher levels that should be fun!
  2. Huh. I wasn't sure when I first started reading, but it's not entirely unreasonable. There are some unique ideas here. I especially like the idea that Odium made the Tranquiline Halls become Damnation--it certainly fits with Vorin mythology, that the Voidbringers conquered the Tranquiline Halls. Considering that there are three planets in the Rosharan system--Roshar, Ashyn, and Braize--and I don't think Ashyn is the Tranquiline Halls, since that's Silence Divine's world, that it seems reasonable that Braize could have taken both roles. Especially since Odium is on Braize, not Roshar. With the advent of the Knights Radiant, Odium may have decided that it was easier to focus on breaking the Heralds, as the Radiants could have broken themselves. Of course, that largely depends on the exact nature of the Oathpact, which we don't know. But still, this is pretty well thought out! (Also, because this contains Words of Radiance stuff, I'm going to move this into the WoR Spoiler subboard. Some people really don't want prerelease spoilers)
  3. Hi there, There's been an error with the TWG database but I am working on it and will be up again Sorry
  4. Holy %$@# this is amazing.
  5. Holy freaking crap, ExMachina. Amazing. That one with Elhokar talking makes me want a Stormlight video game where that's the art style. Like, seriously, that image is dialogue in some game. It is that good. Like, Stormlight visual novel or something. EDIT: Also omigod Elend and Vin is so adorable there. EDIT 2: Do you have a Twitter that I can plug, when I tweet this amazingness from 17th Shard?
  6. I'm not quite sure. I may need to wait closer to Words of Radiance, but mostly, even though I have the names of each rep level, I want to make to sure their distribution is pleasing, so I'll have to use some math on it to make it good.
  7. That is a very safe assumption. The current count of new reputation levels is 84. This is going to be fun
  8. It's going to be fun trolling you guys with really obscure titles from the cosmere.
  9. Well don't say never, but let's just say that Brandon's current rank will not be the ceiling of the rep levels.
  10. I'm not sure where I should announce it, but I think the ceiling for reputation levels is a bit too low, especially if you consider how high a lot of people will be next year or so. So I am going to be changing the reputation levels. It will be a very drastic change that will allow for a great deal more progression, as right now, after you hit 128 and get Shard, the ranks are few and far between. To get an idea of how many ranks I'll add, there are currently about 16 positive rep levels (this was unintentional, though funny). I'm brainstorming and we have about 60+ right now. So have fun trying to figure them all out when I get it done
  11. Satsuoni, I think he was referring to the sample chapters, not WoR in its entirety.
  12. He's called Chasm-cannibal.
  13. This topic hasn't had posts in forever, and that is a shame. Golden Sun is probably my favorite game of all time. This theme from it is the second overworld theme in The Lost Age, which is basically the best thing ever. This dude plays it and it sounds flawless:
  14. Wow, these are fantastic. Thanks for posting them here and putting them on our Gallery! I love the first one; it makes Plate look so freaking badass. The second captures Adolin and Dalinar so well, and I'm such a sucker for Shallan. That Shallan sketching one is wonderful. I feel like a drawing of Kaladin saying the Second Ideal and exploding with light would be amazing in this style.
  15. I don't feel that it's wise to say that someone is trolling. If they give information that seems consistent with information we are given, then I don't think there's any reason to dispute its validity. A lot of info we get is from just one source, and that's okay.
  16. Done and done. EDIT: They kept coming tonight, so I renenabled email verification, which I think (?) has stopped them.
  17. The Lord Ruler took a particular interest in this acolyte and spiked her personally.
  18. I have a great many announcements! First, I PASSED MY COMPS! I'm getting a Master's degree! And more importantly, we have three new promotions: FeatherWriter, little_wilson, and WeiryWriter! Say hello to the new spikees
  19. I've added ExMakina's art back into the Shallan article, just later down the line. No reason why we can't use more images, as images really help make the article look better.
