Tis a sad day for us all. For while there are brand new Words of Radiance sample chapters, Brandon said on his most recent blog that this is going to be the last of them. So, rejoice, as there is more awesome Words of Radiance content! Then, weep because we have to wait till March 4th to read the rest of the book. This time, we get Chapters 10, 12, 14, and the first interlude. We see the first Shallan flashback, the end of part one from Kaladin's POV, and the first Adolin POV, from part two (note the new epigraphs). We also see the first Eshonai interlude, in full, which Brandon read a long time ago, but now we see in its final state! We'll keep you up-to-date with all the latest Words of Radiance news that's upcoming. We still don't have tour dates or any info about the release party, so stay tuned! And with the samples done, we'll have a big post summarizing absolutely everything we know about Words of Radiance coming soon. Discuss the new chapters in our spoileriffic Words of Radiance board! Also, do you browse or edit the Coppermind? Here's how we'll deal with the massive work that Words of Radiance will mean for the wiki. -
Use the overflow menu to the left of the search box and click Member Blogs. We decided to depreciate blogs to that menu as it didn't get too much activity.

Clearly I need to make the link to the help files more obvious in the updated Welcome to 17th Shard post I have investigated the email matter, and there are some difficulties involved with that. I will let you know when I figure it out and will post it in that other topic.

I'm double posting, because it's relevant and because muwhahaha. So, I've updated the forum description of News and Guides with a link directly to the rules section of the Welcome to 17th Shard post. This was the main thing I thought of when you wanted the rules to be more obvious. Is this sufficient? Visible enough? Granted, if it isn't visible enough, I'm not totally sure what I'd do next to fix that. What do you think? I'll get to revising the actual contents of that topic pretty soon, but hopefully this helps. When I finally update it, I'll tweet about it. Also, regarding basic site features, you know there's the detailed, built in help files, right? http://www.17thshard.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=help This can be found at the bottom of the site (by the Change Theme button), as well as searchable from the main search bar. (Though some of the icons seem out of date in it...)

I have finally resolved this issue; sorry it happened. You may need to clear your cache on your mobile browser (I had to), but it seems to be resolved. Ugh, this addon was so crappy... EDIT: Additionally, I have altered the mobile rep to look more like the desktop rep. There's more spacing between the two buttons, which should help accidental taps (which was a problem in the last version), and it also just looks better. I really don't like how unaligned the rep text is when you've already upvoted a thing, but honestly I'm not too concerned right now. Please, please let me know if I've screwed something up.

I would not be opposed to this, but I would also like them to be stylized closer to our current emoticon set. I can provide Hero with our current emoticon set, if he desires.

Yeah, us wiki people need to discuss this. EoS is not at all appropriate. Of course, Peter, it'd be much easier if you told us the name of the current calendar EDIT: Does this new year convention correspond with the rise or fall of the Hierocracy? As in, is it a primarily Vorin convention?

I'll investigate if a welcome email will be possible. I may be able to adapt the verification email to this, though. I'm not having a great deal of luck with it right now. And clearly I need to make the rules more obvious

Well, in the Final Empire timeline, the Lord Ruler died 1022 years after he took the power, with Vin taking the power in 1024. Kind of numerically close. I suppose we could use Modern Era of Roshar or something.

Go for it. Feel free to look through the list of Complete articles and see if any catch your eyes. I'm glad all the Exemplary articles are claimed, though, that will make things a lot easier.

Thanks! I guess it is quite out of date, really XD I'll need to work on that... well. At some point. Those are all really good things to add. I believe I removed the star ratings, as it felt strange and disjoint from the actual reputation system. I also depreciated Blogs because few used them; you can easily access Blogs using the overflow menu to the left of the search box.

Sorry about the Hotmail issue; I had re-enabled email verification because for some reason we have been getting more spambots last week, and I still have no idea why Hotmail and Outlook doesn't like our emails. I've looked into the error logs, and Microsoft servers literally think the emails are spam, so it just refuses to even accept them. Heck if I know how to fix that. Anyways, my apologies, and I'm glad you made it!

I could put that somewhere in the Welcome to 17th Shard guide, which has basic info and rules. Good idea. EDIT: Speaking of which, are there any other site functions that I should put in that guide, while I'm at it?

It can be found in the special BBCode thing, which is just to the left of the font selector. Or you can use [spoiler][/spoiler]No worries, it's a little bit of a hidden feature if you aren't familiar with BBCode
