Illwei is for sure a Straff with a weird insistence that it's totally fine if two Straffs are still alive next cycle and there's no kill capable of hitting them. @Illwei, how do you think a 2-2 is acceptably winnable? If Gears is dead then Steel would be useless, unless the rules for killing teammates works differently with steel, and if I'm also dead then there's no chance of doing any better than a tied exe (not that I would be able to do anything anyway since as it stands my only option next cycle is rioting Illwei's vote to me, where it would be anyway). I guess there could be fun times with villagers claiming Straff, but I don't think that would fly, especially for some people (Ash, Gears). Meanwhile, to villagers with a Cett and a Straff alive is ambiguously winnable depending on how the coinflips shake out and possibly dependent on the lone elims playing kingmaker.

It's not winnable because there would be three kills a cycle with 4 people left and it would go down to one so it's all luck basically at that point with the elims yeah playing kingmaker

Gears has vote manip doesn't he?

One random vote is better than the two random votes that would be needed to win at 2-2. Say a 1/3 chance of winning versus a 1/4 chance of winning, though both are ticked up somewhat depending on which roles are available.

Gears does have vote manip, but the only thing he could do with it next cycle are force you to vote for me or cancel your vote if you vote for me.

Cycle 7 - Rioter's Block

Devotary had worked her magic like a charm, Rioting anger, frustration and rage among the Straff leading to mass carnage, and almost to the brink of Straff self-destruction. Almost. Of course, she didn't expect to go this far as she had to finish them off before they knew what was happening and got their Smokers to block her off. She was lucky though, she had found someone else. Lan MinRai was from the Ventures of course, but that didn't stop them from teaming up. On the battlefield with a common enemy and a common goal to survive, anyone can become your ally. And allies they were as they forced the Straff into a frenzy caused so many casualties. And then the Smokers had come in force, blocking off their emotional allomancy, and that was that. Devotary and Lan made their last stand and faced down the remaining Straffs till they couldn't.

***

Obliteration was tired of this war, he was tired of this world too. Scadrial, where you can eat metals safely. He sighed, a simple breath from this Terrisman he inhabited. He was a good servant, even though he had an annoying accent. The waste of killing these mistborn was quite annoying, but that was how it was.

When he strolled down an alley, he heard a clank. He turned quickly. Someone was in the alley, perhaps they would Obliterate this body? That would give him an excuse to leave without running away. Perfect. "Well, get over with." Someone moved. "Heh? What are you doing in my alley?" An old poor skaa was there. Obliteration walked forward and pushed him over. "Get out of my way," he said, much too late.

He walked into the street, when he did so, he saw someone running towards him. "What is it? Have they finally decided who to Obliterate today?" He called. As the person got closer, he responded. "Yah, they decided." Obliteration nodded, annoyed as the person got close to him. "Who is it?" The man smiled for some inexplicable reason. "You." He stabbed forward and the body dropped. Obliteration rose, just a floating clump of Investiture now. Well, he thought, I guess I have an out. He teleported away.

@Illwei@Random Bystander@Ashbringer, I have witnessed a crime!

Last cycle, fearing for my life and unable to use steel due to using it the cycle previous, I used duralumin+tin and scanned Devotary and Illwei. My scan failed on Devotary, presumably because they died, but I saw with my own tineye that Illwei targeted Devotary. I think that's the last of the elims, then. It has to be the last. My paranoia is clawing at my spine. This feels far too easy.

Elims, why am I alive?

And now it's time to beg for my life to probably-non-existent elims! If there are Cett left, then you are definitely alone. Illwei is Straff. That means the other person will know that you are Cett and kill you. You must kill the Straff. If there are Straff left, then your partner is about to die. Illwei is Straff. The other person knows that you are Straff and will kill you. You must kill the Cett. Spare me, the declawed Mistborn now bereft of both extra metals. What can I do to stop you?

Illwei it is, then. I've still got no clue what you are, but at this point a target scan is all the lead we're going to get. @Random Bystander, you around?

Gears, out of curiosity, why dura-tin instead of dura-iron?

I did target Devotary, and I watched her target Books.

I still trust Ash and...well, unless for some reason something drastic happens, I still think she's a Straff Soother.

I trust none of you. Scientia potentia est. The course of action that might have been more advantageous would be to save duralumin for now to make myself immortal here. Yes, that would have been optimal. However, I wouldn't have caught the Wei with that [would have just done Devotary], so perhaps this was better.

Just now, Illwei said:

Scans don't work on the dead. Hesitation dissolves into certainty. For your words, I condemn you. You wove the rope yourself.

Is the second part of your sentence referring to Ruby? Otherwise the sentence makes no sense.

Why are you alive? I have a theory. Each Elim team thinks the other is going to do it. :P

Sorry. I said this in the other game, but my internet is acting up, and I can only get on for short periods of time. I'll be more active starting tonight, and read through everything I missed. Sorry again.

But no I kinda just assumed she went to Books because books

well

died

and she didn't- well, I'm pretty sure Devo didn't kill herself :P.

I still haven't checked my GMPM for all I know I'm actually dead :P.

Which. Which I'm not. because it would be announced in the writeup :P.

No one's talked today so I don't feel bad about double posting

It's gonna be a 50/50 tomorrow so that's pog. I guess we win either way because gears has his riot, so /shrug. unless Randby is also A rioter instead of a soother because that kinda makes sense because soother is not as useful as rioting imo. theoretically the double metal thing woulda been most useful that round. /shrug

just don't try to soothe because that'd be completely useless lmao.

EDIT:

I know it's not me and it's Either Randby or Ash, Really think it's Randby here but @Random Bystander you have anything to say? Thoughts? A roleclaim?

1. I am neither a rioter nor a soother.

2. I'm not telling you what I am. (Why? Because I don't want to.)

3. Would you mind telling me why you suspect me? It's fine that you do and stuff, but I want to know why.

(3.14, I like pie.)

4. I haven't been as active as I wanted to be, so I'm mostly just confused.

@Random Bystander, the fact that you have been posting and haven't voted for the confirmed elim [I scanned Illwei, she targeted Devotary, and then lied to get out of it, and now she's openwolfing, so I request that you vote for them] is quite concerning, and is only further incentivising the violent screaming of my paranoia.

And now, more proselytising to the elims to pad out the post and make it more than just my paranoia!

To the last Cett [which is one of Ruby or @Ashbringer]: It is strictly more advantageous for you to kill the other Straff. There are 2 scenarios: 1. The Straff is killing me. 2. The Straff is killing you. Each of those scenarios subdivides into two more scenarios. A. You are killing the Straff. B. You are killing me.

In Scenario 1, your choice affects your chance at winning.

Scenario 1a. Illwei dies to the X, I die to the Straff kill, you kill the Straff, Cett victory.

Scenario 1b. Illwei dies to the X, I die to the Straff kill, you kill me, you and the Straff go into the final round, it comes down to the 50/50 odds of the X.

In Scenario 2, you lose either way, but your choice decides who wins.

Scenario 2a. Illwei dies to the X, you die to the Straff kill, you kill the Straff, Venture victory.

Scenario 2b. Illwei dies to the X, you die to the Straff kill, you kill me, Straff victory.

If you choose action A, killing the Straff, you ensure your victory or deprive your killers of theirs. If you choose action B, killing me, you reduce your chance at winning to a mere 50% or ensure that your killers will reign victorious. I trust you will make the correct choice.

She was joking/openwolfing. It's fairly obvious that I'm Vin. I caught Bip. And Illwei took their vote off me and is now saying that one of you or Ash is an elim. Obviously they don't think I was lying. And they tried to lie about why they targeted Devotary and fell to the scan fallacy.

You can vote on mobile using the following code:

[color=red][b]Name Here[/b][/color]

Just copy/paste that and replace "Name Here" with "Illwei".

Faleast burned steel.

Kredik Shaw… it was quite the monument. Older than AraRaash – he thought that it had been raised purely from the Lord Ruler’s powers, a massive spire free from human hands working on its surface. Faleast was simply in awe. Plus, it provided an excellent place to test out his new spike.

Faleast hurtled through the air, wishing he had a mistcloak. He could make a fabrication of one, but that would draw some… unwanted attention if a Tineye or sharp-eyed guard managed to look in the wrong direction. He Pushed here, Pushed there… stopped. All of Luthadel was below him.

“Do we know why it’s called Luthadel?” Faleast whispered. “I half expected Rashek to be named Luthad or something.”

Faleast. We need to focus.

“Right.”

Faleast knew what had happened. The face he wore was a testament to it. He hadn’t reached his goal, not yet.

It doesn’t matter what we do anymore. That changed the day you took this spike. Roko took Vin’s power, and it’s not about to use that power in her place. This world is dead, Faleast. Dead and Diverged.

“A Divergence was the goal, was it not?” Faleast replied. “We could hardly find it without causing one.”

Elend’s death wouldn’t impact enough. History would shift dramatically, but it would survive. But Vin gone? No. With no Preservation, there will be no Harmony. Ati will live unopposed.

“So it doesn’t matter…”. Faleast smiled. “We can do whatever we want.”

It’s up to chance. Too much chance. But it could work.

Faleast’s grin grew wider. “Then let’s give it a shot.”

And he jumped, coins swirling around his body. Flicking heads to tails. Which way they landed - and who they landed in - would be up to a lot of interpretation. The Bystander had forced his hand. So now the hands of Faleast spun, flaring steel, increasing velocity until he would land.

"Oh, Roko, Roko, Roko..." Faleast whispered. "When will you learn that you can't trust me?"

I'll be honest, I've got no idea how this is going to end. So good game all around, and hail Straff Venture.

Cycle 8 - Surprise!

Random was hounded by the rest of the party. She was the last of the Cett. She needed to get out of this place alive. Today was a massacre. A perfect trap laid by the enemy, but if she could get out and escape, it would be a success. Her allegiance to Ashweather was a farce, of course. Her oaths were to someone of far greater significance. She ran around the palace quickly and slipped away from them. She found what she was looking for, a tiny house in the middle of a large chamber. She entered and rushed through to the trapdoor and under to find herself in a cave. She moved with purpose, sidestepping anything in her way. Survival was the only thing on her mind. She passed by a chamber from which black wisps of smoke arose and escaped. She ignored it, that wasn't her fate, it was meant for someone else. She finally reached her intended place and noticed the small pool in the center. It was close now, the liquid in its pale white color. Just a little bit longer till it's shiny white and ready for the next cycle of events to occur. Her master had plans, plans that meant she had to leave all of these to run it's natural course of events.

She did not even turn around to look, the clacking of the heels announced the presence of her pursuers. She took a deep breath and jumped it, nowhere to be seen to her would-be killers. A new world would be graced with her presence.

Welcome, my old friends, to the scene of my demise.
Despite all of my efforts, all the gambits that I tried,

This shall be the place where I make my last farewell,
With a freshly polished orb and a brand-new tale to tell.

This is not the end of you and I, nor the battle that we wage,
For all our interactions are forged of knives and blades.

All hope was lost some time ago, and yet we battle on
And seek the bitter future and the coming of the dawn.

The tapestry of fate has long since finished being woven,
But we act out our parts in our future that has frozen

In its place, a scene of victory and sorrow in the end,
For the triumph of the one means the loss of friends,

Though fear not, dear Faleast, we remain as always rivals,
And of course the weight of time will surpass these measly trials.

For this is the tragic Wei that fate chooses to fall,
With the rolling of the dice deciding destiny for all.

May fortune follow in your footsteps and the wolves nip at your heels.
May poison pass your lips and through your heart a blade of steel.

Trust a bitter enemy, instinct wrought with fallacy,
This is the end, so farewell to my enemies.

With laughter and a smile, the blade gleams wicked sharp,
As it finds a lovely home buried in my heart.

Endings, the assured coming, death reigns, Straff reigns, death comes as the end.
Behold fate, my new and old enemy, watch the watcher, enemies old and new, my fate beheld.
End the ashes, come death, reign Straff! Raining death comes, assuring the end.

In a shadowed alleyway, a machine pretending to be a person clutches a gleaming metal orb and smiles. Vin's spiritweb has been saved to the Database. Roko's integration has been saved to the Database. No data will be lost. All is well. And perhaps, if it plays its cards right, it can even take her place. Perhaps it can Ascend in her stead. The child in the closet is still broken. The person she should be is within the Basilisk. The Basilisk is Vin, for all Intents and purposes. ItShe just has to escape this, and then return. Yes, all is well. All is as it should be. All is well. It steps out from its alley and smiles at its soon-to-be killers. The future awaits.
