If you make a thread I would be your Upper Management Manager

That position has been filled by Cthulhu, sorry. I think the only position we have available is Janitor at Facility #173.

Am I allowed to sign her up with her knowledge?

I guess? Couldn't she just sign herself up?

How many people are in this company?

I'm sorry, but that's classified information.

I can give you part of the old data though. The census for 2010 was 43XXXXXXXXX.

What do those Xs mean? Are they hidden numbers? Do they actually mean anything?

That's for me to know, and you to find out.

Okay, no more talking about Dannnnex Inc, this is the meme comp thread!

I'll sign myself up, thank-you-very-much!

I'd like to join! Hopefully I can make it past the first round...

Edit: So this is a conversation me and Enter a username had after I joined:

Enter: So when are you going to start making memes?

Me: What do you mean? The topic hasn't been posted yet.

Enter: Yeah, but one of the memes you make might apply to the topic.

Me: I don't have any ideas, though, because:

Okay, so I think we’ll start soon-ish, tomorrow or the day after, but I think I want a few more people. So I’m starting a pyramid scheme! Not really......but kinda.

@all the contestants, I am charging you all to try and get more people to sign up. Whoever convinces the most people gets some sort of advantage for the first round. Get campaigning!

If you need more people, I’ll do it. But expect low effort :P

No one asked me to join, btw.

@Dannex, could I possibly judge?

I think I’m going to have the option of judging be the prize for winning. Because there really aren’t very many other things I can offer as a prize. So you can judge if you enter and win :P

But... fine. I'll enter. I probably won't win though...

Yaaaaaaay :P

I think I’ll have it be that the winner gets a “judge pass”, so if you don’t win, you could possibly convince the winner to give it to you.

*raises hand* When exactly do you plan on starting this?

Right Now! :P

Attention all competitors! The first ever 17th Shard Meme Competition is starting!

I have finally decided on a structure. Each round, I will choose a winner. That person gets a point. First person to get 2 points wins! So this could end in 2 rounds at the minimum, or 10 rounds at the max. I like this structure because nobody is actually ever Eliminated, but then it's also not super short.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, the reveal of the theme!

The theme for the first round is...........

Spoiler

Quarantine!

Spoiler

Disclaimer: The theme is specifically not "Covid-19". Covid-19 is a disease that kills people, so not the best thing to make jokes about. The theme is about Quarantine, which I think is the perfect thing to joke about. Its an unusual situation usually, but suddenly it's something we're all very familiar with. So it's both new, and yet also relatable. And it's a vague enough concept that you could take your memes in any direction.

Disclaimer p2: The theme is quite literally the singular world "Quarantine". When I thought of it, I was obviously thinking of the Coronavirus Quarantine, but since the theme is just the word "Quarantine", not "2020 Covid Quarantine", feel free to interpret it however you want. Go ahead, make a meme about the black plague, nothing is stopping you.

Good luck contestants! You have until Friday to submit your meme to @Condensation, but we can start the next round as soon as all the memes have been submitted, so please don't procrastinate.

Get creating!

Edit: Signups will still be open for the rest of today, since people might change their mind about joining now that there's a few more details. But after today, signups are hard-closed until the comp is over.

Hmm, I feel like opinions of quarantine can be somewhat based on political ideologies. I will just hope that @Dannex shares some of my political opinions.

Submitting through PM, I assume?

Yes, but not to me. To Connie. Who will pass them on to me once she has received all of them. So I can judge unbiasedly.

I guess it depends on what aspect of quarantine opinions you’re focusing on. Something like ‘quarantine is/isn’t necessary’ is a very political opinion, but something like ‘being stuck in my house 24/7 is/isn’t boring’ is not.

It is slightly opinionated, but a lot of research has come out recently that supports it, so it technically isn't opinionated anymore.
