The lady looked at the note by the door, which basically said she was going to do that. The lady raised an eyebrow, and then flared both metals. She gave her one command: Stop pounding on the walls.

Rylia starts screaming again, but doesn't hit the walls anymore.

The lady sighed. Shut up. She closed the hatch, and walked back to the desk.

I stop screaming. I don't stop filling Duralimin, and I start filling all my other metalminds.

I don't know what to do anymore...

Maybe....................

Yeah, I've got nothing. Uh, feel free to escape.

The lady got back to work, and so did the two men.

I stop filling tin, nicrosil, and steel, reveal the concealed hairpin I'd taken from the woman a couple days ago and continue in my efforts to pick the lock. I've been trying ever since I got the pin. Finally it opens. I close the door with me outside, leaving it locked.

I'm assuming it locks when it shuts. I'm not picking the lock back shut.

I sneak down the hall as far as I can, then tap steel and run out the door. I'm still filling duralumin (Connection)

Sure. What'd you learn?

Meet me at the train. I need to speak with some of my people.

He stopped tapping Atium, returning to adulthood. As he buttoned his shirt he gave instructions to the local operatives. They’d keep an eye on the base for him.

”Find out who was screaming,” Kelsier noted as he left. “It could be something we could use.”

The young woman nodded. “Of course, Grandfather. Shall I rescue them?”

Kelsier shrugged. “Up to you. Just make sure it doesn’t trace back to me if you do.”

Marea smiled mischievously. “Don’t worry. I’ll use my Set face.” Her features shifted slightly, briefly becoming those of a stern matron before reverting to her previous youthful state.

Kelsier laughed, ruffling Marea’s hair. “You do that. Contact me when it’s done.”

Will do. Adrienne grabbed another drink and started heading back to the train station.

Now that Rylia's outside, she sits in the gutters next to another child and does her best to look dirty and grimy, then taps duralumin and Connects herself to the urchin beside her.

"What game are we playing?" she whispers in his ear.

"I'm hungry. Do you have food?"

Rylia does her best to mimic his accent. "We should leave. It's not safe to sit here."

"Why?"

"The people in the building might come out and take us away."

"How do you know?"

She's getting a little closer to his accent, but isn't there quite yet. "I just got out. Come on! Let's sit somewhere safer."

Rylia tries to pull him away from the building. He resists. "This is the best spot. Go away."

Rylia gives up and runs off, Storing connection again. At least she got the accent.

Kelsier launched himself into the air, soaring across the town toward the station. He landed lightly, ensued his glasses were firmly in place, then settled down to wait inside.

Duralumin is Connection. Bendalloy is nutrition.

Marea headed toward the building Grandfather had indicated. The front door was open and she heard cries of alarm from within. The prisoner had escaped, it seemed. Pity. A rescue would have been fun.

Marea headed over to an urchin sitting near the building. “Have you seen anyone come out of there?” She asked.

“I’ll give you a boxing,” Marea offered.

@Channelknight Fadran

“A location, some names. Oh, and they’re experimenting with hemalurgy. They won’t get far without some help though, so it’s not very concerning.”

"So a ragtag upstart shadow organization sent a random person to go assassinate a ghostblood?" Adrienne crossed her arms. "Why?"

“Oh, I didn’t think they were after us,” Kelsier said with amusement. “No, you -and they- had the misfortune of targeting a third party under my protection. And that,” he added, “is why you should always investigate before striking. Now that I know they exist, I can use them.”

I continue to simply sit bored back at the Ghostblood' place. Why here, and why now? Of course I had been found by the protagonist that Brandon has literally said would be the villain in any other story. Oh, and this is another story all right. Sigh. Why couldn't I have ended up somewhere nicer? I mean, Sel might of been nice if we showed up near the end of the story, like how we showed up at not quite the beginning of Alloy of Law. And I certainly wouldn't mind being an Elantrian, though the learning process of the Aons would make it not his first choice. Same with Nalthis, I suppose. I always liked Warbreaker. Actually, now that I think of it, it's probably my favorite Cosmere novel. It probably shouldn't be, with masterpieces like Oathbreaker.

I really shouldn't think of them as fiction now, since they are actually all true. Even the insanity of Roshar... Say, Alloy of Law is set slightly before The Way of Kings, right? Yeah, good thing they didn't land in Roshar. The magic system is probably better to learn since you get a friend and don't really need a dictionary, but Roshar as a planet kinda sucks and obviously the Desolations are even worse.

This is probably better than my actual thought processes.

You are free to talk to the various Ghostbloods. As an aside, AoL takes place shortly after KoWT.

She flipped a coin. "Probably."

He nodded. “You’re to keep watch for details. Names, places, even accents and unusual turns of phrase. Be aware.”

Then he smiled and, for once, it was genuine. “Prove yourself to me with this, and you’ll have a place among my crew.”

You're already spiked.

Rylia sits in the gutter, trying to blend in with the other urchins (the closest is about a block away) and filling Duralumin and Gold to help her go unnoticed. She's also filling steel, nicrosil, and her touch tinmind for convenience.
