Marea nodded. “I can get you a simple cloak and staff here. We can also get travel rations for you and some rope.” She began pulling down items and piling them on the counter as she worked. She added a small bag of tin and another of steel. Rarer metals would have to wait, and would raise too many questions anyway.

”We’ll stop at a safe house,” the Set’s, not the Ghostblood’s, “to get you new clothes. Then we’ll head to Elendel. Easier to vanish in a big city.”

She paid the owner, thanking him for his time. “I’d appreciate if you kept quiet about this. The men who did this... I can’t imagine what they’d do if they caught her again.”

Governor, Kelsier corrected idly. Then: Good. Go right ahead. But be discreet about it. Don’t let anyone else see. And let me know before you make the hit.

He turned his attention back to his brother, pleased. He’d have to see PaAlm as soon as he returned to Elendel. It was time to set some things in motion.

Aloud he said, “not yet. I’m working on getting someone into their ranks,” and offering them an alliance, but he wasn’t going to tell Marsh that. “They have a computer in their local safe house, so they must have some kind of power source. They also had locally sourced lightbulbs, which they’re also powering as Weathering doesn’t have a grid yet. Considering the power these incandescent bulbs draw...” He trailed off.

Adrienne let out a breath and muttered to herself. "Yikes. The governor, huh?" Oh well. No taking it back now.

She made her way to the train station and waited for that associate Kelsier was talking about.

Rylia watched as the store owner holds the copper for a moment, steel at a low burn in her belly. She watched as the blue line leading to the clip shivered, then thinned. She watched, steel extinguished now, as the owner put away the coins from their purchases and shooed them out the door. As soon as they were out she told Marea "He did store it. I watched."

She knocked on the front door, offering a pass phrase before entering. “We can stay here,” she  assured Rylla. “Long enough for you to change and eat something.”

“Train,” Marea answered. “But first I need to meet our other member. And they can’t see you, so let’s see what we can do about that...”

She hummed thoughtfully to herself as she opened a case of powders and cosmetics. “I think we’ll make your skin darker by a few tones; it’s one of the first details people notice. If it doesn’t match, the brain won’t connect the things we can’t change, like the overall shape of your face. Of course I’ll contour too, so even that won’t read quite the same. And age you by a few years, too.” She nodded happily to herself, growing excited as she considered the options.

“I’m thinking a dark brown wig, braided in the Terris style. But not too Terris. Just the idea, really. Survivorist necklace. People will focus on that disparity instead of your face.

Marea shook her head. “They use Mistcoats. Dusters with the bottom cut into strips. I’ve only seen two people use Mistcloaks. Grandfather takes his out for the drama sometimes, and Uncle Spook uses his on occasion. Even they don’t use them much though.”
