The man sighed, taking the coins and putting them in his pocket. He glanced toward another table, and the man there shook his head. He looked back. "What happened." He asked, irritated.

Kelsier pushed his tankard toward the bartender, claiming a filled mug in its place. Carefully he compounded his memory, retaining every detail of the encounter and the two men involved.

He looked to the other guy who reluctantly nodded. He then looked back. "We had hopes for you. We were thinking about recruiting you, but since you refuse to cooperate..." He came at her with the knife, which slipped out of his hand as he randomly sneezed. With a sigh, he got up, and turned around. "I'll give you another chance." He said, as he turned to leave. "Succeed, and we won't hunt you down."

Kelsier rolled his eye, dropping some coins on the bar. He raised the mug, finishing off his drink.

Both men left, and then immediately turned into smoke. They headed to a small base nearby with Aluminum lined walls. It had a hidden basement that was also aluminum lined.

Kelsier froze time as they transformed, focusing on the pulse they emitted as they did. He dropped the bubble and followed. Steel let him match their speed. Bronze and steelsight let him track them.

These people had attacked his. It was time to find out who they were and what they wanted.

"Kelsier?" Adrienne whispered, using the earring. "Where'd they go?"

These people had attacked his. It was time to find out who they were and what they wanted.

They appeared in front of the small building that blended into the other buildings around it. One of them stepped onto a small grate to the side of the door, and changed into water. A moment later, he flipped on a light switch, and unlocked the door.

Kelsier tapped his speed, moving faster than the eye could follow. He ducked through the door as it opened, dodging around the frozen men and down the corridor. He slipped into a nearby closet, closing the door behind him.

The man who was waiting outside sighed. "It would be much easier if they made one of those for gasses too." He said frustrated. The other man nodded, and they headed over to a side hallway after closing and locking the door.

Kelsier listened to the sound of their footsteps fading. Then he froze time and exited the closet. Once he was certain he wasn’t being watched, he let the bubble drop. Silently, he shadowed the two men.

Their base, huh? Adrienne thought, sitting down and sipping her drink.

"Me too. It doesn't seem like his best decision. Do you think they will find us?" The shorter man asked.

The taller guy shrugged. "Well, I sure hope not. I don't really want to die anytime soon..." He sighed.

The shorter guy pushed open a door. It had stairs that led into the main office. No one was in that specific room at that moment.

Kelsier sighed, tapping steel again. He sped around the men, tapping more of his youth as he entered the office. Being a child had its downsides, but it did mean he could hide in some very small spaces.

Like the space between the dusty files on the shelves in the rarely used cabinet in the far corner of the office.

The taller guy walked into a room (his office) and sat down, while the shorter guy logged onto the janky computer that had been sitting on the main desk for about 10 years.

Kelsier watched through the crack where the cabinet doors met. Computer, huh? They would need their own power source for that; the drain would be noticeable if they took it from an established grid.

Not that Weathering even had an electrical grid to draw on. Which meant that these people had managed to create a power plant without him, his people, his brother, and Sazed noticing. 

This does not bode well, Kelsier thought irritably. Just what I needed: another conspiracy infiltrating Scadrial. The Set was annoying enough, distracting him from his work across the Cosmere. Scadrial came first though. This world was Kelsier’s to Preserve.

The computer didn't have internet, but the guy didn't need internet. He went onto an outdated forms app, and added the date, names, and address of the situation with Adrienne. He then opened Word, and typed up a small summary of what had happened.
