“No, not the lines. The stanzas.”

"Does that include the last couplet, or... you know what?" He passed her the prophecy. "Just take it."

“Thanks.” Melody scanned through the prophecy. “Here!

The wielder of an ancient blade

A master swordsman, trained by light

I think that means I’m supposed to find a master swordsman to give the sword to. Oh, and it looks like there’s a lot about dying and death. That can’t be good.”

One moment while I find it.

Only the one and only Connie would forget to use quotation marks after reading through a prophecy.

"So... we aren't friends."

Uhm actually *pulls out some glasses*, she didn't 'forget' them per se, but she did use them when she said "Here!" but without the end quotes for that specific phrase, so she is technically correct. But also, she should have used some when starting a new paragraph, but I'm getting ahead of myself and that's a different story. Bottom line is that I wouldn't say that she 'forgot' to use them, but that she could (probably should, idk; I'm just being an English teacher rn) have used them when starting a new paragraph of the prophecy.

So don't mind me, but I'll be watching your friendship drama from the background where Q is. Also making sure that I got everything that I wanted to post about her in the status that I posted yesterday, lol.

Ellis narrated the prophecy:

Under the guise of night and clouds of day

Shall rise once more to face a timeless threat

A soul who's mind was cast away

And kill a Lord without regret

In his finest hour of that fruitless night

A hero will speak a final breath

Though fighting still, but lose despite

A prophecy ended with the Dark Lord's death.

The wielder of an ancient blade

A master swordsman, trained by light

Who's lives unnumbered must be repaid

Perhaps not winning, but still in the fight

In the end, her greatest friends may have died

Gone from this world, but dark defied.

Gerald scratched his head. "This is odd," he said. "I've seen prophecies that were cryptic, but never one this... confusing."

Didn't I tell you to ignore my grammar mistakes? Plus I'm bad at punctuation. Teach me!

"Of course we're friends! Some prophecy can't change that."

Posted

"Like, are these sentences referring to one person or two?" continued Gerald. "Because it sounds like it's all talking about one hero, but there's two different pronouns used."

Posted

"Couplets count as stanzas, by the way. At least I'm pretty sure. And those last two lines don't look good for us if we're supposed to be the ones in the prophecy."

"I meant that... you don't seem at all deterred about following through with this prophecy that seems quite inclined to kill me dead."

¨I´m sure that this isn´t about us. See, I just pass the sword to someone else and they can go find their team of... an amnesiac and a hero who´s destined to lose.¨

I´m sorry about my weird quotation marks and apostrophes, the chromebook that I´m on is weird.

"Melody... it's about us. You can't just find another Dark Lord."

Yeah... I was going to ask about that.

¨Can and will, you just watch me. I´m not letting anything happen to my friends.¨

It´s so weird, I hate it and it makes my brain hurt. *sigh*

"Do you understand what's going on in this prophecy?" Gerald asked Ellis.

"Not at all... but I understand part of it."

Consistency errors. I'll go fix those...

Ellis smiled. "Thanks. I guess we can go; this tower smells of old people anyways."

In the... magician's tower?

"Yes. For one, you have to be dark. Evil. Destructive. At the very least, unpleasant!"
