"You are..." *decides to have a bit of fun* "You are Shmorflburger, Ninja of Night and Death. And also pancakes, oddly. You strike in the daytime and always lose, but you keep trying anyway! Now go, Shmorflburger, Ninja of Night and Death and also pancakes! Wreak vengeance upon thine enemies!"

It would be funny.

"Sometimes life's like that. Mr... Mavilon, was it? Can you reasonably say that you're not the antagonist?"

“Antagonist? That’s a strong word for it,” Mavilon said. “Call me a puppet master, who surely has your best interest at heart.”

Another porpoise materialized, plopping on the ground.

Fine.

"I'm the..." he looked down, "I'm the Dark Lord."

“Well then,” the magician said. “That was unexpected.”

But we don't know if that's what he's going to say, so we can't rule out that possibility. >.>

“Do... you have to? Admittedly, it’s been years since I created the prophecy, I can’t remember all the details...”

Melody ran over to pet the other porpoise. "Really, you can send them back. Wait, a puppet master? I'm confused. It felt like you just admitted to being an antagonist in the same sentence as you said you weren't an antagonist."

It's very true. I would enjoy that for a moment.

"We want to escape," grumbled Gerald. "And you want to keep us here. That makes you, by definition, an antagonist."

Melody's the sweetest, most optimistic person you'll ever meet. She'll continue to defend the bad guy no matter what, feel free to do whatever you feel like about it.

"Hey, he hasn't said that. Maybe he does, but assumptions can be hurtful!"

"I dunno about you, Gerald," Q said, folding her arms, "but I really don't want to escape. And wanting to 'keep' us here is not antagonistic per se, just a bit obsessive. Bold of you to start assuming what the magician wants to do with you guys."

"You don't want to escape? Oh, that's right. You wanted to find someone else. Well, go ahead. I think we're good here!"

Q nodded, then turned to walk back down the stairs. "No, I don't want to deal with another prophecy, Krow. I have enough of those and other stuff on my hands."

Well, ig that's the end of Q, for now. Unless I want to do those status thingys, and if y'all want to read those, lol. But I think that I'll stalk from here on out.

Do the status thingies! You can meet back up with us afterward if you want, we could use someone else to balance out Melody.

"Have a good time! Hopefully we'll see you again!"

“Did I say puppet master? I meant, uh... puppeteer!”

The magician raised his hands, and a third porpoise appeared, joining the other two in a improvised dance.

"Prophecy? What prophecy?"

He handed the supposed Dark Lord a laminated copy. “Here you go, narrate it as you will.”

Ellis narrated the prophecy:

Under the guise of night and clouds of day

Shall rise once more to face a timeless threat

A soul whose mind was cast away

And kill a Lord without regret

In her finest hour of that fruitless night

A hero will speak a final breath

Though fighting still, but lose despite

A prophecy ended with the Dark Lord's death.

The wielder of an ancient blade

A master swordsman, trained by light

Whose lives unnumbered must be repaid

Perhaps not winning, but still in the fight

In the end, her greatest friends may have died

Gone from this world, but dark defied.

All of those "who's"es should be whose.

So I'm doing my best to keep up with this, but what from my current understanding there's currently an opening for a Dark Lord, right?

Ellis is the Dark Lord. I've heavily implied who the hero is, but haven't outright said it.

Y'know what, Connie? I don't even care. Just have Melody respond to the prophecy already.

Ah yes, since I've been dropping in and out, I've been missing most of the implications.

I will make a cameo, just wait.

Sorry. I’ll stop.
