"You will?" Her eyes widened hopefully.

"Why wouldn't I?"

A particularly loud snore sounded from the room Shade had gone to sleep in. It literally made dishes rattle on their shelves.

Let me just slide in here, ruining the moment.

Janice started crying into her shoulder.

Aryanna tightened her grip. "I'll alwa-" She looked up as the snore interrupted her and sighed.

Janice didn't react to the snore. Her breathing had steadied: she was asleep on Aryanna's shoulder.

Aryanna smiled down at the girl and leaned back on the couch, closing her eyes.

Timeskip, then? Bittersweet moments can only last so long.

I'm good with that.

Shade woke up, pulled on her boots, and put her cloak on. She only had the one bounty hunting outfit, as she put any money she had into finding her sister. She yawned, and pulled the hood of her cloak over her eyes.

Cruz woke with a start, realizing he had dozed off waiting and had had a horrible nightmare that the judge had been standing still for over fourteen days and that the trial never proceeded.

Hey, give Null some time. He's a busy man, after all.

Janice blinked open her eyes, sitting up and yawning. The weight of losing Cadenza was still there, but hope had worked its way into her mind as well.

We'll find you, Cadenza, she thought to herself. I'll find you. I promise.

"So... are we going?" Trace asked.

"We can." Maddy said. "You can decide when, though." She still wasn't fully comfortable with Trace's presence, even if she didn't think Trace would attack them.

((Since it has been two weeks, it is actually reasonable to assume that something happened with the courtroom and move forward.  It's not fair to Koi for this to go on for an eternity.  Are you okay if, after an extended battle, some measure of guilt is proven against him, but for lesser charges, and they accept a rather lenient plea that results in 6 months of prison with 10 years probation, since they couldn't make the worst of the crimes stick.  However, this is inconvenient for literally Cruz and everyone else, so he needs to do shenanigans to get out of it?))

He nodded. “Yeah, For sure!  I should go fight someone else now. There’s this other girl who has really long hair, she might be a challenge for you.”

"Alright. I'll have to look for her later. And if you see me at lunch, feel free to wave me over."

He nodded. “She’s over there,” he said, pointing to an ancient, spindly woman. She was sitting quietly and crocheting something.
