Girl that's so real.

Huh, this kinda surprised me. I just kinda assumed that since it seemed like you knew you were trans for longer than I do, you would have more of a handle on it and stuff, but I realize now that that's not necessarily the case.

I'd love to try and help you out, give you advice/support if you wanna talk about this more.

I used to tell people I was trans online to avoid crippling voice dysphoria in VCs back in 2024 (and I was still cisgender)

I've just spent longer hatching

I'd love to talk about it more if you'd like to as well but maybe in the morning (I'm tired) ❤️

So, The Matrix, (1999). A huge trans allegory.

Non-spoiler stuff: The sisters who wrote/directed it were both trans women, who realized this some time after making it. They later stated that it was a trans allegory, though they did not realize this at the time of making it.

Spoiler stuff (if you are trans or like good movies you should watch it)

In The Matrix, our protagonist Neo finds out that the life he's been living has been a lie, and goes to the real world, after choosing between a red pill and a blue pill. After this, he is extremely distressed, but grows to accept this true reality. This moment is pretty much breaking out of the egg, realizing that one is trans. It's really scary to realize that your life has been an illusion, but eventually, one grows to accept it. And after one realizes this? Everything seems more real. (At least, this was my experience. After realizing I was a girl, I felt more passionate and cared more about things, was more emotional, and just felt like my previous life had been fake. Let me know if you experienced something similar) The blue pill is never figuring it out. Your life doesn't go into disarray, but you continue living a lie that you won't truly be yourself in.

There was also a scrapped plotline where the character Swatch was, due to a programming error, in a male body in the real world but a female body in the Matrix. This is obviously trans as hell. (They scrapped it because they thought it would be both too radical for the time, and because they didn't want to have to get 2 actors.)

Matrix is so good

yeah, I don't remember if I watched it before or after knowing of the allegory. I'm like 90% sure it was before though. Unfortunate, maybe I could've hatched sooner.

Sleep is death leaving your body

remember kids

if you don’t sleep for long enough, the death will build up and you will die

But if you you sleep too long… your life will start leaving your body instead

thats called a coma

Wow, neat! I knew the sisters were trans, but didn't realize the whole allegory! (I've watched the movie.)

The part about choosing whether to never come to terms with it and always being regretful of what could be, or choosing to embrace the new you

For me I had separated my life into an online "female" persona and an offline "male" persona and I kept both of them very separate. When I finally got to choose between the two I kinda just realized I liked being female more. But for years and years I just sort of hid it away as some sort of weird obsession I had, and I never gave myself the option to take the other pill. And it was awful for me.

Nothing felt more real to me, but I will say that when I boymode it seems more fake to me now. But so does the "real" me, so to speak, for some reason (mostly relating to the incongruence of identity I had going on for a good three-four years). Because of the amount of time I spent telling myself I wasn't a girl, and that I couldn't be, and that it was normal, and whatever, I now find it extremely difficult to be who I want to be

Huh, wow.

I've been awake for 11 hours 😁

Does "bees" count as one part of a prompt?

Yep, thx!

Didn't sleep? (ur TZ says USA)

Edit: for some reason I read "GMT" as "Mountain Time," not Greenwich Mean lol.

GMT, UK

It's 5pm here, and your posts for me are usually stamped with the time in GMT, which means everyone seems to be online at 3am most days
