"Perhaps," said the Wyrn. "So far, you have resisted any and all attempts at collaboration between us. But this supersedes personal preference."

"What supersedes personal preference? This is why you needed to talk with us?"

You encountered Jeffery, and I think (?) he told you that Vapor's mother was still alive, but nothing more. Vapor and Jeffery left the group because they were worried about Jared. Vapor further left when Rishmaveta showed up and offered to teach her.

23 minutes ago, Channelknight Fadran said:

"And we ran into her dad, but awhile after that, she received news that you might still be alive, so she went looking for you."

In that case...

"And we ran into her dad, but awhile after that, she... had to leave us."

The Wyrn sighed.

"Watch," he said, gesturing upwards. "And see."

Gradually, the room began to darken. And then - all of a sudden - a silver fox appeared in the air above the table.

Just now, Channelknight Fadran said:

"And we ran into her dad, but awhile after that, she... had to leave us."

"Her father - Jeffery?"

Herate looked up and gasped. "What is it?"

Martin eyes the fox suspiciously.  He hates this part.  Mind games aren't something he's good at anymore - he lost that somewhere in the nightmare.  He presses two fingers against his pulse and forces himself to breath steadily.

"An image of an entity that appeared a day or so ago near a small village in the mountains."

Above, the image moved slowly and gracefully, as though it were alive. It turned its head, passing alien eyes over the people at the table.

"Yes. Him."

"How recently?"

"A couple weeks back? Have you heard of the Universe Hexagon?"

"Yes, I have. He was working on things there when all communication was cut off..." Ashley looked concerned. "Do you know what happened to him?"

The fox lifted up its head and roared silver flame.

"It destroyed things," said the Wyrn. "And people. One hundred and thirty seven, to be exact- including four of the Myrkaal sent to take it down."

"It is an escaped prisoner," said Wyrn. "From a prison of nightmares. And it is not the only one."

"So... you want to send it back? And the only way you could think of to talk to me was to kidnap Daolan? You honestly couldn't have just left a note?"

"Send it back?" said Wyrn. "No... the prison has been destroyed, you see. The prisoners scattered across the worlds. If we are to survive this creature and others - and believe me, there will be others - we will have to deal with them ourselves."

...what? :P Jeffery didn't stay in Universe Hexagon, he came with the Fellowship.

*sigh*

You know what? Just pretend like Fadran said everything exactly how it happened. I'm not even going to try anymore.

"Then deal with the ones that come your way and we'll deal with the ones that come our way. See, it'll work."

The Wyrn's gaze hardened. "We cannot fight these creatures if we are fighting among ourselves." He gestured upwards. "This creature took out half of the team sent to eliminate it. And it is one of the weaker ones."

Vapor cries out and falls, barely catching herself with her power as she wobbles and pushes against the water again.

The rushing waters push violently against Vapor's power. They present practically no weakness as they fall from eternity. In the midst of the force of nature there seems to be a void through which the waters flow. An emptiness whose essence empowers the magical water to run as they do.

Vapor reaches out again, trying to enforce her barrier, and senses something. A feeling that seems to make the water fall. She gently pushes against the void, trying to push it out of the way. Her power seems to fill the emptiness, so she continues to cram the force with her power.

Above, silver flashed violently as the fox tore through a crowd. Some tried to hide- but the fire washed over and consumed them. Some tried to fight- but their blades only melted as they swung. Many ran, trying to outrace the swath of destruction left by the fox. Some even succeeded.

The Wyrn gaze fixated on Herate, his eyes full of reflected silver. "As I said," he replied simply. "One of the weakest."

The fox reminded wind of something, how strange. Wind looked at Wyrn, this man was evil he could sense it.

"Anyways... Ayia, we're waiting for Herate and Martin to get back with Daolan. We're here in case things turn south. I hope you've still got the fight in you?"

"Of course I do, dear!"

"Don't call me that."

"Why not, honey?"

"They physically hurt me."

"Fine, darling."

"Stop."

Ayia cracked a smile. "Very well, Fadran."

"Thank you." He sighed.

Andante looked around, curious. "I thought there would be more of you. And apparently a queen of some kind."
