Robin Sedai she/her Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Hmm, then I don't have a particular preference either way. So long as it has good characters, I am happy And I also like charming, sociopathic, genius, anti-hero characters. Any recommendations? 6 minutes ago, Ookla the Frustrated said: I'm going to add a second axis to this. High fantasy, or low fantasy? Generally high fantasy, but it runs a larger risk of clichés.

Well, I can't really think of anyone in the vein of Kaz Brekker right now, but it you want a much more crazy version of that, there's always Number Five from "The Umbrella Academy" tv show. And if you want a much more tamed version of that, there's always Artemis Fowl from the "Artemis Fowl" book series by Eoin Colfer. It is a midddle grade series, but it was also the series that made me fall back in love with reading. If I think of anything else, I'll surely tell you. 30 minutes ago, Ookla the Frustrated said: I'm going to add a second axis to this. High fantasy, or low fantasy? High fantasy is set in a different world and low fantasy is set in our world. For example, Stormlight is high fantasy and Alcatraz is (mostly) low.
Quivil Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 High fantasy is the best! Then there's more chances for cool worldbuilding! What's the difference between light and dark fantasy?
