Hmm, then I don't have a particular preference either way. So long as it has good characters, I am happy :D And I also like charming, sociopathic, genius, anti-hero characters. Any recommendations?

High fantasy, or low fantasy?

Generally high fantasy, but it runs a larger risk of clichés.

Well, I can't really think of anyone in the vein of Kaz Brekker right now, but it you want a much more crazy version of that, there's always Number Five from "The Umbrella Academy" tv show. And if you want a much more tamed version of that, there's always Artemis Fowl from the "Artemis Fowl" book series by Eoin Colfer. It is a midddle grade series, but it was also the series that made me fall back in love with reading. If I think of anything else, I'll surely tell you.

Don't really have a preference either way. Both are awesome.

I'm not sure what the differences are.

High fantasy is set in a different world and low fantasy is set in our world.

For example, Stormlight is high fantasy and Alcatraz is (mostly) low.

High fantasy is the best! Then there's more chances for cool worldbuilding!

What's the difference between light and dark fantasy?

I think that's just tone - like, Mistborn is darker than Warbreaker

Well, almost, low fantasy would be a low magic setting, and High fantasy is a high magic setting

Well in that case I like light fantasy that's either high or low and has nice worldbuilding.

How’s everyone doing today? Playing trombone at a Christmas concert tonight.
